S. Korean workers' struggle supported

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- Employees of the Kim Jong thae general electric locomotive works held a meeting on December 31, 1996, and expressed full support for and solidarity with the South Korean workers in their struggle for the abolition of the "Amendments to the law on the agency for national security planning and labor laws". At the meeting the speakers said that the "Amendment bills" railroaded by the Kim Young Sam group through the puppet national assembly without the opposition camp's presence were vicious anti-democratic fascist ones ruthlessly trampling down the legitimate rights of the South Korean workers to assembly, Collective bargaining and collective action as well as their elementary right to existence. The "Amendment bills" were unprecedented ones designed to restore broad power to the ill-famed puppet ansp, the headquarters of intelligence and plots and to harshly repress the South Korean people's movement for independence, democracy and reunification and turn the South Korean society into a jail, they noted, and continued: It is entirely just and cannot be incriminated in any case that the South Korean workers and people, unable to remain an onlooker to the dark realities of the South Korean society where "The rich get richer and the poor poorer" and democracy and civil rights are mercilessly trampled down owing to the anti-popular policy of the Kim Young Sam fascist clique, have turned out in the struggle, chanting the slogan to overthrow the Kim Young Sam "Government". The South Korean workers should be mindful that with the traitor Kim Young Sam remaining in power they cannot extricate themselves from the miserable lot of the slaves of fascism and capital, push ahead with the already started struggle with redoubled efforts and overthrow the puppet traitor, the vicious enemy of the nation, through the powerful resistance.

NDFSK vows to overthrow "Civilian" government

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- The central committee of the national democratic front of South Korea (ndfsk) released a statement on December 30 in support of a protest of the South Korean people of all walks of life against the kim Young Sam fascist clique's singlehanded railroading of the reactionary anti-democratic "Amendment bills of the law on the agency for national security planning and labor laws" through the puppet national assembly, according to the radio voice of national salvation from Seoul. The statement says: The protests of workers, members of dissident organisations and students, more than one million in all, against the Kim Young Sam group's recent fascist outrage are the eruption of the resentment against the Kim Young Sam group that enacted evil laws, going against the will of the people, and a decisive struggle which is being staged to overthrow the "Civilian" dictatorial "Government" which has violated democracy. From the beginning the "Amendment bills" are all vicious documents of swindles which ignore the will of the people and give absolute power to the wicked "Civilian" dictatorial group. The recent singlehanded "Railroading" of amendment bills is directly related to the Kim Young Sam group's cunning attempt to stay in power. The Kim Young Sam group has created the unprecedented terror-ridden "New security-oriented rule" outdistancing the military dictatorship and engaged itself in the indiscriminate suppression of the democratic, pro- reunification forces, describing them as "Leftist pro- communist forces". Its open amendment of laws is a premeditated reactionary offensive for the institutional legalisation of a long-term office and a prelude to the wholesale repression of the workers and people of other strata. If the workers and other people remain an onlooker to the situation, deceived by the Kim Young Sam group and abandons their struggle in the face of threat and blackmail, they will get nothing and fall a victim to the "Civilian" dictatorship. The workers should overthrow the traitorous Kim Young Sam dictatorial "Government" and win their true rights, freedom and right to existence through a nation-wide struggle. The students and people from all walks of life should actively join in the struggle to overthrow the "Civilian" dictatorship with surging indignation at the anti-democratic act of the Kim Young Sam fascist group.

Kim Young Sam group hit for fascist laws

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- The north headquarters of the national alliance for the country's reunification (pomminryon) and of the national alliance of youth and students for the country's reunification (pomchonghakryon) on January 1 issued statements denouncing the Kim Young Sam group of South Korea for their singlehanded railroading of the amendment bills on the "Law on the agency for national security planning and on labour laws" Through the puppet national assembly. The statements say that the Kim Young Sam group let the "National assemblymen" from the "New Korea party" ram the "Amendment bill on the law on the agency for national security planning" through a clandestine session of the national assembly, which is an unpardonable crime to strangle all the patriotic forces of South Korea fighting for independence, democracy and reunification and which is a last-ditch effort of the traitors. The South Korean rulers' brutal suppression of the protests of the South Korean people, including the students, is a crime added to their crimes, the statements warn. The statements urge the South Korean authorities to immediately nullify the unreasonably passed evil laws and put an immediate halt to the repression of the South Korean people's struggle.

Chief of NDFSK Pyongyang mission on massive struggle of S. Korean workers

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- The massive struggle of the South Korean workers is a resistance against the fascist suppression and harsh exploitation and plunder. Ri Jong Sang, chief of the Pyongyang mission of the national democratic front of South Korea, made the remarks in his answer to the question raised by the KCNA on December 31 as regards the ever-growing struggle of the South Korean people from all walks of life against the singlehanded railroading of the reactionary "Amendment bills on the law on the agency for national security planning and on labor laws" in South Korea. The recent political burlesque of the Kim Young Sam "Civilian" fascist clique mirrors their ulterior intention to exercise broad power by law in setting more flexible working hours, stamping out the right of labor and creating unstability concerning employment so as to more ruthlessly violate their right to existence and democratic freedom, keep them in the fetters of harsh political nonright, hard toil and exploitation and strangle the forces fighting for independence, democracy and reunification, he said, and continued: Lurking behind the revision is the Kim Young Sam group's wicked and cunning intention to maintain and strengthen their "Civilian" dictatorial system which is in the grip of confused political situation and economic instability, and open a favourable phase for the "Presidential elections" of 1997 with the help of big businesses and the "Agency for national security planning" and stay in power. The South Korean people, who see through their trick and have been the target of suppression, have turned out in a massive struggle calling for the overthrow of Kim Young Sam and the resignation of the present "Government". This is their inalienable right for democracy and their elementary right to existence and entirely just. The ten million workers will wage a more powerful struggle against Kim Young Sam and "Government" in the teeth of the fascist violence of the "Civilian" dictatorship. No matter what sabre-rattling suppression the Kim Young Sam group may resort to, they cannot block the courageous struggle of the South Korean workers and people of other strata for right to existence and democratic freedom.
