Nepalese honorary diploma awarded to Secy. Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- A ceremony for awarding an honorary diploma of the Nepalese international forum to the Secretary Kim Jong Il was held in Kathmandu on February 14 on the occasion of his 55th birthday. The honorary diploma was read out and handed to the head of a delegation of the Korean Committee of for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries by Minister of Housing and Material Planning Balaram Gaharti Magar at the ceremony. The diploma carries a picture of Secretary Kim Jong Il with a broad smile on his face under which it reads: We have the honour to present this honorary diploma to Secretary Kim Jong Il, who is devoted his call to realising global independence with embodiment of the immortal Juche idea, on the occasion of his 55th birthday. Chairman of the international forum Naba Raz Adikafi in his congratulatory speech said: Led by President Kim Il Sung and Secretary Kim Jong Il, Korea is now shining all over the world as an independent and prosperous socialist power. Secretary Kim Jong Il has put into practice the immortal Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung, wisely leading the revolution and construction in Korea and putting his heart and soul into realizing her reunification, the cherished desire of the Korean nation.

Democratic amendment to "labour laws" urged

Pyongang,February 24(KCNA)--A meeting urging democratic amendment to the "labour laws" took place on the plaza of Seoul Railway Station February 22, sponsored by the confederation of trade unions in south Korea, with about 2,000 workers and students in attendance, a Seoul-based radio said. At the meeting, the confederation complained that the discussion for rectifying the "labour laws" now under way in the "national assembly" involving the ruking and opposition parties is coming to an end with a few provisions in the evil laws dealt with, far from meeting the demand of working masses. The confederation repeatedly demanded that the "labour laws" be amended in a democratic way so as to meet international standards. It called for a thorough investigation into the Hanbo insident and a hearing of the case. The confederation's chairman Kwon Yong Gil in a press conference February 22 urged the regime to meet ten major demands including annulment of the systems allowing businesses to lay off workers and introduce flexible working hours and the recognition of the basic rights of teachers. He warned that in case the demands are not met, the confederation will stage the fourth-stage general walkout.

Hanziker's death caused by "Chongwadae"

Pyongyang'February 24(KCNA) --U.S invastigation authorities are suspecting that the south Korean intelligence organ is involved in the death of an American, Hanziker,and are launching a wholesale invastigation. He returned to the United States on Novemver 27 last year after detained in the nortern half of Korea for spying activities and was shot to death in a hotel in seattle on December 18.The Seoul-based radio voice of National Salvation reported this, qupting an American source.The radio said: The suspection is based on the fact that The south Koreans showed most sensitive reaction to the case and felt uneasy and that though a pistol was not found on the scene of the incident,The south Korean Authorities hurriedly spread a rumor of suicide. When Hanziker was detained in The north for spying activities the south Korean intelligence organ manipulated mass media to argue that the north detained The American without reason. The South Koreans strained every nerve to create new mistrust between the north and the United States and begged the U.S to put bigger pressure upon the north with the incident as an occasion. But,the U.S. Administration dispatched democratic member of the house of representatives Richardson to the as a Presidential envoy to make an dfficial apolpgy to the north and take Hanziker back to the U.S. Hanziker confessed in the north that he was an agent of the agency for national security planning of south Korea and ,back home,he did not slander the north but spoke good of the north,which infuriated the south Korean authorities. Judging from this, the U.S investigation authorities suspect that Chongwade instructed it's intelligence agents in the U.S to kill him. According to their initial investigation,on December 5 last year a week after Hanziker returned to the United States a telephone order for arranging the day of killing Hanziker came to an ANSP agen at the south Korean Embassy in Washington from Seoul. The agent mailed a letter to Hanziker in name of Hanziker's maternal uncle,so that Hanziker went to a hotel in seattle. A hotel clerk confirmed that a strange man and woman of south Korea took a room next to Hanziker's and had access to Hanziker. Witnessed said the car in which the couple disapperared after the shooting incident belonged to the south Korean Embassy. The south Korean Embassy in Washington, afraid of a big trouble which will affect the relations with the United States in case the incident turns out to have been made by the ANSP,is making a fuss to mislead the U.S. invastigation.

Truth behind Hanbo scandal must be made clear=S. Korean opposition leader

Pyongyang,February 24 (KCNA) -- President of the opposition "National Congress for New Politics" Kim Dae Jung held that the Hanbo scandal is a "power-based irregularity made by the Kim Young Sam "government", a Seoul-based radio said. Speaking in a meeting on February 22, he said the Hanbo scandal is an incident made by the Kim Young Sam regime in a bid to repay the favours shown by the general chairman of the Hanbo group, Jong Thae Su, who offered tens of billions of won as "presidential election" fund in 1992. Kim Dae Jung said Kim Young Sam shoukd be held responsible for the scandal. He said the prosecution cannot be trusted as long as it treats Kim Hyon Chol, son of Kim Young Sam and the mastermind of the scandal, as a plaintiff. Kim Dae Jung demanded that the truth behind the Hanbo scandal should be made clear through tekevised "parliament" hearing so that all people can understand it.

Tasks for materializing proposal of joint meeting discussed

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Enlarged Executive omcmittee Meetins of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League were held here. The meetings discussed tasks of the organizations and their members to carry into practice the proposal of the joint meeting of political parties and organizations in the northern half of Korea for waging a nationwide struggle to realize national independence and defend peace. The meetings expressed full support to the proposal, as entirely justifiable one, which was put forward by the joint meeting to make this "a year of solidarity of the north, south and overseas Koreans for national independence and peace", conduct a joint struggle for it and convene a meeting of representatives of political parties and organizations in the north, south and overseas this year, the 25th anniversary of the publication of the July 4 joint statement. The meetings ardently appealed to organizations in south Korea to support the proposal wit a patriotic standpoint and decisively turn out in the nationwide struggle to realise national independence and defend peace.

Kim Young Sam should stand trial, says NDFSK mission in Cuba

Pyongyang, Febuary 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Young Sam should open to the public the Hanbo incident-related irregularities and stand trial, said the deputy chief of the mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea(NDFSK) in Cuba, Kim Chang Su. He called a press conference on February 17 with regard to the continued revelation of the seamy side of the incident. Referring to Kim Young Sam's ruling crisis that has been worsened by the recent revision of evil laws and Hanbo incident, he said it a logical result to him. Successive rulers of south Korea and their clans were all fascist dectators and robbers. But any foul human scum, special class political profiteer and special class robber cannot stand beside Kim Young Sam, he said, noting the Hanbo scandal must have been committed with the involvement of Kim Young Sam.

Pyongyang,Feburuary 24 (KCNA) --The Ssecretariat of the Ccommittee for the Ppeaceful Rreunification of the Fatherland in the Democratic People's Republic Korea made public a white paper on February 23 indicting Kim Yong Sam, the ruler of his office. The white paper says: Kim Yong Sam enforced a medieval fascist rule,corrupt politics. Under the cloak of Reforms, he set up a civilian veiled fascist dictatorial system which is more vicious than the former military fascisy dictorial systems. A total of 45 cases, of railroading of bills through parliament unilaterally by ruling parties have been recorded in south Korea since the second National assembly of 1952. 23 cases, more than a half of the figure,have been committed since Kim Yong Sam merged his party with the ruling party for it's chairmanship KIm Yong Sam promised that he would eliminate the fusion between the gorverment and business ,liquidate irregularies and corruption and thus enforce clean politics. However,he betrayed his commitment and turned south Korea into a hotbed of irregularies and corruption in four years of his office. He raked up more money by dint of power. As a result,in one year after his assumption of office ,he became one of the richest men in south Korea. It is told that now Kim Yong Sam ranks first in the richest men in south Korea. In four years of Kim Yong Sam's office,the south Korean economy has gone bankrupt.It is now on the verge of a total bunkrupcy, wiht the snowballing trade defict and foreign debtts. It's trade defict in 1993 was dlrs 1.56 billion, which increased to DLRS 6.3 billion and 10.061 billion respectively in 1994 and 1995.In 1996,it ran into dlrs 20.379 billion, which shows that south Korea's trade deffict has increased almost 13 times in four years since he seized power. However,his promise proved to be an empty talk. At present, 1,760,000 people live poverty=their earnings area less than one fourth of the minimum living cost or nothing at all. Debts for each worker amount to 9,750,000 won. 56,000 children are wandering about in stress as beggars. An increasing number of people commit suicide, cursing south Korean society which throws them into destitution and deprives then of their right to learn. South Korea places first in suicide cases in the world,with over 48.7 per every 100,000 persons committing suicide. Crimes and accidents increased in number after Kim Yong Sam's assumption of office. The collapse of the Sampoong Department Store and Songsu Bridge were extra -large disaters unprecedented in the world. 8 accidents including them left nearly 2,500 people dead. Last year he declared the Inter-Korean closed-door policy, which was a challenge to the fellow countrymen, who want detent, peace and reunification. He has stepped up war preparation against the Northern Half Of Korea. 8 large-scale military manoeuvres against the Northern Half Of Korea. The War experiences increased to 16 Jun 1993 when Kim Yong Sam took office,37 in 1995 and 88 in 1996. Military expenditures are on a ruse every year. The white paper says in four years after his assumption of office the traitor Kim Yong Sam has turned south Korea into a more fascist,corrupt society where social vices hold sway,resorted to a campaing of confornation and war preparations against the Northern Half Of Korea,bringing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the worst phase and blocked the road of reunification,far from becoming a partner of dialogue.
