Mass gymnastic display "Korea, I will glorify you

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- The mass gymnastic display "Korea, I Will Glorify You" has been successfully performed at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium since February 16. The performance, given by 10,000 schoolchildren in Pyongyang, consists of the opening scene "Lodestar Brought Above Mt. Paektu By the Sun", four scenes "We Will Be Responsible for the Korean Revolution", "We Will Continue Advancing Along the Road of Juche", "We Will Carry Forward the Cause of the Sun As Its Rays Through Generations" and "We Will Glorify Korea Under the Leadership of the General" and the last scene "Best Wishes for Longevity". It represents well with gymnastic and artistic activities the enduring achievements made under the guidance of Secretary Kim Jong Il, who has built a powerful socialist state of Juche in Korea by creditably carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche started by President Kim Il Sung. It also shows the happy and worthwhile life the Korean people enjoy in the socialist society. The performers fully demonstrate the Korean people's unshakable faith and iron will to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, united in one mind around Secretary Kim Jong Il, true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung. The performance, a mixture of various kinds of gymnastics, dances, acrobatics and slide-helped background, is acclaimed by the spectators for its high ideological and artistic value, the tested skill of the performers and good ensemble. The mass gymnastic display, which has been enjoyed by many people, was created by the mass gymnastic display production, which takes a big share in the nation's Juche-based sports and art development. The production, made up of a section of directors and gymnastic, background, music and other sections, has hundreds of able creators including some 40 people's sportsmen and merited sportsmen. Amid the playing of dirge the mourners observed a moment's silence in memory of the deceased.

Enlarged meetings of public orgs.

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Enlarged executive committee meetings of the c.c., union of Agricultural Working People of Korea (UAWPK) and the c.c., Korean Democratic Women's Union (KDWU) took place here. Reporters and speakers described at the meetings the proposal of the joint meeting of political parties and organizations in North Korea for making this "a year of solidarity of the north, south and overseas Koreans for national independence and peace" as a justifiable step entirely conforming to the aspiration and desire of the whole nation. They touched on the tasks of union organizations to materialise it. The meetings discussed concrete measures for invigorating the sacred struggle for national independence and peace and the joint struggle for the cause common to the nation. The meetings appealed to South Korean organizations to actively turn out with patriotic stand in the national joint struggle to convene a joint conference of representatives of political parties and organizations in the north, south and overseas. They expressed the will to actively arrange contacts and dialogues with all peasant and women organizations in South Korea and adopted relevant decisions.

Arrogance of "civilian"-veiled clan

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- It is told that Kim Hyon Chol, a son of Kim Young Sam, was "interrogated by the prosecution" on Feb. 21 and 22 on the suspicion of being involved in the Hanbo incident, according to a report. Needless to say, it is a deceptive burlesque which was made under the pressure of the South Korean public circles and opinion. In the "investigation" Kim Hyon Chol totally negated his relations with the Hanbo group, and the puppet prosecution said that it investigated one suspicion after another raised by the press and political camp but it has been confirmed that the suspicions proved to be false. This is a mockery of the South Korean people demanding a thoroughgoing probe into the truth behind the Hanbo incident and the full revelation of the crimes of Kim Young Sam and his family, the chief culprits of the incident. As is known to the world Kim Young Sam let his son rake up money from comprador businessmen and enterprises at the time of the "Presidential election" and since then, Kim Hyon Chol has had great influence on political and financial circles of South Korea with the backing of his father's power. It is not a secret that Kim Hyon Chol, all the more arrogant on the patronage of his father, has been involved in many scandals and collected "political funds" for Kim Young Sam. The puppet prosecution attempted to gloss over the "investigation", for the revelation of Kim Hyon Chol's crimes would lead to Kim Young Sam. But there is no one who will be taken in by such a foolish trick. The investigation of the puppet prosecution into the Hanbo incident showed the world once again the arrogance of Kim Young Sam, the kingpin of irregularities, and his clan as the saying "like father, like son" goes.

Discreet behaviour urged

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S. State Secretary, Albright, recently toured South Korea and Japan to deliberate over the U.S.-South Korea-Japan "joint action" and "cooperation". Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun today says that Albright's trip shows the United States has no intention to settle the issue of the Korean Peninsula but is still seeking to isolate and stifle the DPRK. The news analyst goes on: This time the U.S. talked about a "consultative meeting to examine the situation of the north", "proposal for strengthening joint action in the policy towards the north" and "joint defense". This is far from the attitude the U.S. should take as a direct party responsible for the settlement of the Korean issue. The "cooperation system" called for by the U.S., South Korean puppets and the Japanese reactionaries is a product of their joint plot intended to stifle the DPRK. We have strongly opposed it from the beginning and this stand still remains unchanged. In order to solve the question of the Korean Peninsula it is necessary to ease the tension and remove the confrontation. The U.S. must behave with discretion, clearly seeing what the "joint action" and "cooperation" will bring about.

Crimes of Kim Young Sam brought to light

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- The Hanbo loan scandal is a crime committed by Kim Young Sam in return for tens of billions of poltical fund he had received from Jong Thae Su, general chairman of the Hanbo business group, during the 1992 "Presidential elections". Kim Dae Jung, President of the South Korean opposition "National Congress for New Politics", made the remarks in a recent speech in Inchon. It is widely known to the world that Kim received a huge amount of money from Jong at the time of the "Suso housing lot scandal" in 1991 and received tens of billions of money from him again for the 1992 "Presidential elections", Rodong Sinmun today says, and goes on: This notwithstanding, Kim let the puppet prosecutors appointed by him make an "investigation" into the Hanbo loan scandal and make public its results hurriedly in a bid to avoid bitter condemnation from the people at home and abroad. He sought in this to shift the responsibility for the scandal on to some of his hirelings. The deception cannot go down with any one at all. Kim Young Sam should not pay lip-services to "liquidation of irregularities and corruption", but make public the truth behind the Hanbo loan scandal as well as the 1992 "Presidential elections" fund, step down and face judgement by history and people.

Russian newspaper on source of Korea's invincibility

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Not only the Korean people but other people are convinced that the revolution and the cause of socialism, the cause of President Kim Il Sung, are invincible in Korea and his behests will surely be implemented because the Korean people are led by Secretary Kim Jong Il, his great successor. The Russian newspaper Patriot no. 5 said this in an article titled "source of strength and invincibility" to which it devoted one whole page to celebrate the 55th birthday of Secretary Kim Jong Il. The article, made up of three subtitles, stressed that Secretary Kim Jong Il is the leader of the party and the state, the leader of all the Korean nation. It said: He has demonstrated a strong, indomitable will to hold fast to the line of Korean-style socialism advanced by President Kim Il Sung. He has also confidently showed that President Kim Il Sung's ideas will be immortal and the country's line will also remain unchanged. From President Kim Il Sung he inherited as his motto believing the people as in heaven, the conception which defines deep love for the working people and all the ideas and work, and has fully embodied it. He had always worked with President Kim Il Sung as his close comrade-in-arms and assistant and materialized his plans in a creative way. He has shown the whole world a model of a brilliant commander and strategist by always winning the confrontation with the U.S. with the superb countermeasures which could not be foreseen by the enemy. He has set an example in perfecting the popular style of work and had it generalized among the party, state and economic officials. Deep are the people's trust and reverence for General Kim Jong Il, who always pursues such politics and invincible is the society under his leadership.
