Repatriation of unconvertedlong-term prisoners urged
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The Left Democratic Front of
Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Solidarity Committee for
Supporting Korea's Reunification and the Bangladesh-Korea
Friendship Association published a joint statement on March
3 demanding the repatriation of unconverted long-term
prisoners in South Korea.
Old Kim In So and Ham Se Hwan should have been sent back
home immediately after the war according to the Korean
armistice agreement, the statement said, adding: But they
had been imprionsed for decades, being tortured and
maltreated and have not yet been sent back to their
hometowns due to the illegal and inhumanitarian moves of the
South Korean authorities.
The statement demanded the South Korean authorities
promptly allow those unconverted long-term prisoners to come
back to reunite their families even in the evening of their
life.
"Mindan" urges repealof evil laws in S. Korea
Tokyo, March 7 (KNS-KCNA) -- Korean compatriots under
"mindan" (the South Korean residents association in Japan)
held a meeting here on Feb. 23 urging the repeal of
retrogressively revised "labour laws" and "law on the agency
for national security planning" and a probe into the truth
behind the Hanbo loan scandal.
They said in a resolution adopted at the meeting that the
ruling and opposition parties of South Korea should nullify
the railroaded evil laws and reamend them in a democratic
way and that the special investigation committee should
thoroughly probe the truth behind the Hanbo incident and
clarify the substance of outside pressure.
They also called for enactment of a bill on preventing
irregularities and democratic amendment of the "political
fund law".
Korea-Japan joint consultative meeting on Japan's wartime crimes
Tokyo, March 7 (KNS-KCNA) -- A Korea-Japan national
consultative meeting of groups for investigation into
the forcible draft of Koreans was held in osaka on February
22.
The meeting heard reports on the fact-finding groups'
activities in different areas.
It was decided there to launch a one million-signature
campaign for setting up a "council for probing the wartime
crimes of Japan".
The meeting adopted an emergency appeal.
Literature appeared in Seoul
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Many copies of literature
calling for the overthrow of the Kim Young Sam "regime" were
scattered in Jongro district, Seoul, on March 7, according
to a radio report from Seoul.
The literature says:
The only wayout is to overthrow the present "government"
and let us conclude the struggle for repeal of evil labor
laws with the overthrow of the present "government".
All-people rally held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The Korean Confederation of
Trade Unions and the National Measure Committee for
Democracy held an all-people rally to condemn the revised
labour laws and law on the agency for national security
planning and get the decadent "government" resigned in Seoul
and ten other places throughout South Korea on march 8 with
the attendance of more than 50,000 workers and members, a
Seoul-based radio said.
At the rally the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions
said that in case the fascist clique wind up the revised
"labor laws" not in line with international standards, the
organisation would define it as the second retrogressive
revision of the "labour laws" made only for party interests.
It declared it would conduct a campaign against the evil
labour laws and a general strike.
The organisation also vowed to concentrate on a struggle
for right to existence and basic rights of labor.
Utterances inviting indignation
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Chief cabinet secretary of
Japan Kajiyama talked about coping with an "event of
contingency" on the Korean Peninsula, "countering capacity"
and "establishing legal system" and said that this is a big
task of Japan-U.S. consultation".
Minju Joson today, commenting on this, says that his
utterances prove that the Japanese reactionaries try to
step up the conversion of Japan into a military power and
overseas aggression with the backing of the U.S.
The analyst says:
the Japanese reactionaries have worked hard for turning
Japan into a military power and dispatching troops
overseas under the cloak of the "U.S.-Japan security
system".
They are scheming to push ahead with the arms buildup
and military reinvasion by clamouring about the "emergency"
on the Korean peninsula.
They have obstructed in every way the improvement of
relations between the DPRK and the U.S. afraid of losing a
pretext of emergency on the Korean peninsula and encouraged
the south Korean puppets' moves for the north-south
confrontation to keep the tension on the Korean Peninsula.
With no trick the Japanese reactionaries can conceal
their intention. However hard they may resort to a false
propoganda about "threat" from the DPRK, it cannot be true.
The "emergency" on the Korean Peninsula is a prelude to
reinvasion upon Korea.
If the Japanese reactionaries stage a comeback to the
DPRK, it will move up their self-ruin.
Don't bring calamity upon themselves
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The South Korean puppets
are squandering a huge amount of money for purchasing war
supplies from the beginning of the year and some countries
are now vying with each other in making arms sales contract
with the puppets and delivering war supplies to them.
Rodong Sinmun today, commenting on this, says that South
Korea has turned into an exhibition of lethal weapons and a
global arms market. The analyst goes on:
The arms buildup of the South Korean puppets and some
countries' arms export are rendering the tense situation of
the Korean peninsula more strained and confrontation between
the north and South of Korea acute.
The tensions on the Korean Peninsula are exerting a grave
influence on peace and security in Asia and the rest of the
world.
For the relaxation of tensions and preservation of peace
on the Korean peninsula it is imperative to stop an act
harmful to them.
We will make every possible effort for peace on the
Korean peninsula and never pardon those who ignor our
efforts for peace and take the road of war.
Those who encourage the South Korean puppets to a war
against the northern half of Korea through arms sales will
pay dearly for it.
The anti-DPRK arms buildup of the South Korean puppets
and some countries' delivery of arms to them will bring
a calamity upon themselves.
Rodong Sinmun on trick of Kim Young Sam group
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group
declared an halt to the "negotiations for rewritting the
labour laws" and has put in force the revised labour laws.
Rodong Sinmun today in a commentary says that this
is an unbearable mockery of and challenge to the South
Korean workers and people of other strata calling for repeal
of the labor laws and enactment of democratic labor laws.
If the Kim Young Sam group have had an iota of reason and
conscience, they should have lent an ear to the voices of
the south Korean people and the progressives of the world
and withdrawn the retrogressively revised labor laws, the
analyst says, and goes on:
However, they have employeed cunning techniques to
enforce them, talking about the "legitimacy of the labor
laws".
The "negotiations between the ruling and opposition
parties" for "rewritting the labor laws" were a farce of the
puppets designed to avoid the public protests against the
fascist laws.
By enforcing the murderous labor laws, the Kim Young Sam
group betrayed their true colors as the vicious enemy of the
South Korean working people, including the workers.
The South Korean workers should not be taken in by a
trick of the puppets but continue their stubborn struggle
against Kim Young Sam and fascist laws till their just
demand will be met. They, therefore, should overthrow the
kim Young Sam group in the grip of a serious crisis caused
by the hanbo loan scandal.
