Japanese reactionaries bereft of reason

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today comments on the Japanese reactionaries' despicable acts to cover up the criminal nature of the "comfort women" issue. Recently, the Chief of the Foreign Policy Deliberation Office of the Japanese Cabinet said there is no evidence for the forced recruitment of "Comfort Women for the Japanese Army" and the government authorities were not directly involved in their drafting. Young lawmakers have said Japanese textbooks have wrong description of the "comfort women" issue and they would ascertain whether it is true or not. Rodong Sinmun says it has been fully revealed by official documents and testimonies of those involved in the recruitment that it was planned and carried out by the Japanese government and military as their policy and a large number of women were drafted forcibly by government power. By denying the "comfort women" issue, Japanese politicians revealed their intention to avoid the settlement of the past and repeat such a crime, the daily says, and continues . Their efforts to delete even the unsatisfactorily described "comfort women" issue from middle school's history textbooks offer a glimpse of their real intention to imbue the rising generations with the militarist view of history and encourage them to reinvasion. The Japanese authorities are now committing a crime again. They should know that their acts to justify Japan's past will bring calamities on them.

Reactionary venal media

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Hyon Chol, a son of Kim Young Sam, is now dodging presence at a "parliamentary hearing" he himself promised some time ago. To this end he has put in motion a press counter-measure team, his private organization, and the puppet ministry of information, which are actively backing him. The press counter-measure team and the puppet Ministry of Information are denounced by people as a reactionary media turning away from justice and truth and speaking for the anti-social crime of Kim Young Sam and his clan. They have made the south Korean press degraded and reactionary in a bid to cover their traitorous colors. Kim Young Sam took power with a political transformation of three parties into one and has more persistently faked up the press to mislead public opinion and deceive the popular masses with a view to reinforcing his fragile power foundation. It is despicable and shameless that he allowed his son with no public office to influence political power. Kim Young Sam at the time of his "Candidate for President" activated Kim Hyon Chol's private organizations to cook up the press for his "election". After taking power he fattened his son's private organizations so that his son might play "a little President". It is not surprising that the south Korean puppet Ministry of Information and its "Minister" have become a servant of the press counter-measure team and turned into a manipulator of the press. This practically proves that an official "governmental organ" of the "civilian regime" is a private one related to the fate of Kim Young Sam.

Sycophantic treachery flailed

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA)-- The south Korean puppets' clamouring for continued presence of the U.S. troops in Okinawa and East Asia is aimed at persistently pursuing the policy of war against the northern half of Korea with the backing of outsiders and currying favor with their master, say papers here today. The analyst of Rodong Sinmun, commenting on the sycophantic treachery, says: At the talks with a Japanese ruling party delegation the south Korean puppets contended that the continued presence of the U.S. troops in Okinawa is necessary for immediately coping with the "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula as well as preserving peace and stability in the region. Their utterances are a reversed logic. The U.S. troops present in Okinawa play a pivotal role in the execution of the U.S. policy towards the DPRK. They are a source of the escalating tensions and the increasing danger of war on the Korean Peninsula. Immediate response to the "contingency" on the lips of the south Korean puppets means the entry of the U.S. troops present in Okinawa into a new Korean war. The south Korean puppets prattled that the presence of 100,000 U.S. troops in east Asia is an "international promise". Who made the promise with whom? The East Asia-based 100,000 U.S. troops are to stifle the DPRK by force of arms and, furthermore, dominate the whole Asia. Minju Joson in a signed commentary warns that if the south Korean puppets unleash a new war against the northern half of Korea, taking advantage of the aggressive policy of outside forces, we will deliver decisive counterblows to them.

Time-honored city

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a city with a long history and brilliant culture. The city dates as far back as the first period of human civilization. It was the capital of three dynasties of ancient Korea for nearly 3,000 years since King Tangun chose it as the capital of the first state of Korea he built more than 5,000 years ago. Human beings have lived in this beautiful city since the Paleolithic age. Its evidence is the remains of ape-men found in caves at Huguri, Sangwon county. After the collapse of ancient Korea, it remained a centre of politics, the economy and culture in northwest Korea as the capital of Raknangguk built by descendants of ancient Korea. Its historic position and role were succeeded by the Koguryo dynasty, which lasted a thousand years as a strong nation. Koguryo moved its capital to Pyongyang in 427, because it was the cradle of the Korean nation with a long history and culture. The Koryo dynasty, the first unified state of Korea, attached importance to Pyongyang and rehabilitated it after Wang Kon founded Koryo in 918 with an ambition to restore Koguryo. This was mainly because Pyongyang was the cradle of the nation and the capital of King Tangun's Korea. During the Ri dynasty, the city played an important role in the development of national history, remaining the largest centre in northwest Korea. Preserved in Pyongyang are King Tangun's mausoleum and the mausoleum of King Tongmyong, the founder of the Koguryo dynasty, which have been reconstructed, as well as the fort on mt. Taesong, the walled city of Pyongyang and many other relics as witnesses of Korea's history of five thousand years.
