Joint struggle of Pomchonghakryon
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The north, south and overseas Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) carried out a joint struggle on May 26.
At a rally held at Seoul National University sponsored by the south headquarters, speakers accused the United States of blockading north Korea and making war preparations and called for U.S. troop pullout from south Korea and establishment of national independence.
They vowed to deal a blow of justice at the Kim Young Sam regime and its manipulators as the regime brands the students' righteous anti-U.S. struggle for independence as "benefiting the enemy" and levels guns at fellow countrymen.
The speakers called on all young people and students of Korea in the north, south and overseas to firmly unite under the banner of Pomchonghakryon and open a turning point for national reunification.
Ouster of Kim Young Sam called for
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Ri Nam Ho, Chief of the Syrian Mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK), issued a statement May 14 to mark the 17th Anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.
He declared that the NDFSK and the south Korean people will inherit the spirit of the Kwangju resistance fighters and invigorate the struggle to overthrow Kim Young Sam.
He elaborated on the historic significance of the Kwangju Popular Uprising and recalled that the south Korean people have courageously fought against the United States and dictatorship and for democracy since the Kwangju incident.
He attributed it to the deceptive and treacherous behavior of the Kim Young Sam "civilian government" that the demands of the resistance fighters have not been met, the truth behind the Kwangju massacre has not been clarified and the chief culprits have not been punished severely though it is seventeen years since the Kwangju Uprising.

The amount is a record high since the economic crisis in 1980.

Student protests in s. Korea
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Over 10,000 students under the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) staged protests in different parts of Seoul for two consecutive days in a bid to hold the inaugural ceremony of the fifth-term "Hanchongryon," clashing with riot police, a Seoul-based radio reported.
Students from some ten universities made for Hanyang University, the venue of the ceremony, on Saturday. They fought tear gas firing police with sticks and flame bottles. Meanwhile, a group of 4,000 students forced their way up to university street in downtown Seoul, warmly welcomed by workers who were holding a rally of public sector labor unions there. The students held a joint rally with workers, criticising the Kim Young Sam "civilian" regime's anti-social politics and repression.
Another group of 2,000 students held protests around the east gate, clashing with police.
Some 1,000 students who had already stayed in Hanyang University hurled rocks at police to enable fellow students to enter the campus.
Prior to their departure for the venue of the inaugural ceremony, students held rallies to carry out the ceremony.
They decided to hold the ceremony in the form of a national rally in front of the puppet Seoul city hall on Sunday in case they fail to enter Hanyang University.
The Kim Young Sam regime mobilized more than 20,000 police of 180 companies to crack down on student protests.
On Friday, some 1,000 students under the Kwangju-South Jolla Provincial Federation of University Student Councils clashed with mobile police in Raju and Muan of south Jolla Province on their way to Seoul to participate in the inaugural ceremony of "Hanchongryon".
Papers on Kim Young Sam's "statement"
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Papers here today brand Kim Young Sam's "special statement to the people" of May 30 concerning the 1992 "Presidential Election" funds as an open challenge to public demand and a shameless jargon to deceive the people and mislead public opinion.
In the "statement," Kim Young Sam did not clarify his criminal use of a fabulous amount of fund at the time of the "Presidential Election." His "statement" was full of self- justification, appeasement and threat.
According to conservative estimate, the secret funds he used for his "Election" amounted to 2,000 billion won (2.3 billion dollars). He let his son Kim Hyon Chol conceal 12 billion won which had not been used.
The analyst of Rodong Sinmun says:
Kim Young Sam talked as if he had not received a penny as campaign funds, mindful that if he opened to the public the colossal amount of the funds, he would not go scotfree.
In the "statement," he said he would promote "political reform" during the rest of his term and put "heart and soul" into terminating "high-cost politics," consolidating "security" and "reviving the economy." This was a desperate effort to escape from the Hanbo financial scandal and the campaign fund scandal.
He shamelessly slandered and threatened pro-democracy forces and the opposition parties. He meant that in case the opposition parties continue to oppose him, he would not rule out "joint suicide" with them.
He had better open to the public the campaign funds and step down at once as demanded by the people.
The analyst of Minju Joson brands his "statement" as something to shift the blame for the "Presidential Election" funds, win public favor and threaten the opposition parties. Kim Young Sam, the "Election" offender, must step down, the paper demands.
