Floral baskets, bouquets and flowers were also laid before his statues at the Pyongyang Schoolchildren's Palace, Changdok School, Taedongmun Primary School and other places in the city.

CPRF Secretariat on Kim Young Sam group's repression of students
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland published its information no. 737 on Friday, condemning the Kim Young Sam group's repressive moves to stifle the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon).
The Kim Young Sam fascist clique whisked away above 600 patriotic students and detained scores of them as of June 4.
They are clamouring for uprooting "Hanchongryon", branding students' demonstration as part of the "north's revolutionary strategy towards the south" and as "act of benefitting the north".
This premeditated move is intended to sweep away the pro-reunification patriotic movement of south Korean students and aggravate the acute north-south relations, the information said. It further said: South Korean students formed their organization "Hanchongryon" of their own accord, not at any instruction, and have been waging their righteous struggle in the van of the movement for independence, democracy and reunification.
Nevertheless, the puppet clique are brutally cracking down upon "Hanchongryon", forcibly connecting it with the north, which is part of their trite trick to bridge over the crisis.
With neither suppression nor intrigues, however, can they block the movement for independence, democracy and reunification and repress the massive struggle of students and people for ousting Kim Young Sam, a heinous criminal who has driven south Korea into total bankruptcy.
Now the Kim Young Sam group have no other way but to admit the heinous crime they committed against the country and the nation in four years of office and stand trial.
Intensified repression of "Hanchongryon"
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- An emergency "meeting of ministers in charge of security affairs" was called in south Korea on Thursday in the presence of the puppet Prime Minister. There a "special order of arrest" for leading members of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) and its wings Sochongryon and Namchongryon was issued, a radio report from Seoul said.
To this end, they decided to set up "headquarters for the arrest" at provincial police offices and "investigation teams" at police stations throughout south Korea.
The decision also included the formation of a "special riot police squad" consisting of 20 companies, 3,000 strong, whose mission is to block the patriotic struggle of students.
Meanwhile, chairman of the "New Korea Party" Ri Hoe Chang summoned the puppet Home Minister to the party headquarters, styling himself as "Presidential" candidate, and instructed him to "decisively deal with the Hanchongryon incident."
The repressive moves are, in fact, the "civilian" fascist clique's declaration of war against "Hanchongryon", the vanguard organization of one million students.
Those reckless moves of the Kim Young Sam group are straining the political situation of south Korea on the threshold of the tenth anniversary of the June resistance.
Japan cannot avoid postwar settlement
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The Japanese right-wing reactionaries are hell-bent on anti-DPRK campaign.
Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today says: Of late they are up to their ears in the anti-DPRK campaign, raising a hue and cry over the "suspicion of Japanese girl abduction", while putting aside the issues of the "comfort women" and atonement for the past. Their campaign is a thinly-veiled base act.
The "suspicion of Japanese girl abduction" has already proved to be a political burlesque played by the south Korean puppet Agency for National Security Planning in order to imbue people with the spirit of confrontation with the northern half of Korea.
What the Japanese reactionaries seek in their frantic anti-DPRK campaign is to divert elsewhere the attention of the people at home and abroad calling for the atonement for the past and so flee from the responsibility for it.
Japan has committed unprecedented-in-scope crimes against the Koreans.
Atonement for the crime-woven past is the unavoidable legal and historical obligation of Japan.
It is more than half a century since Japan's defeat in the war. The successive Japanese Government authorities have not admitted the crimes committed against the Korean people, though. And they are resorting to undisguised moves to gloss over and justify the past crimes.
If Japan continues trying to flee from the responsibility for the past crimes, the country will find itself isolated, condemned by the world people.
Deliberate and premeditated provocation
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today comments on the piracy committed by the south Korean puppets in the West Sea of Korea.
Branding it as an unpardonably serious military provocation against the DPRK and a premeditated and deliberate move to bring the situation closer to the verge of war, the news analyst of the paper says:
On June 5, the south Korean puppets illegally infiltrated a group of three warships of the puppet navy deep into the territorial waters of the north side in the West Sea of Korea in an attempt to kidnap peaceful fishing boats of the DPRK. When their attempt failed, the warships fired shells at the fishing boats before fleeing.
This hostile act is not an accident.
The Kim Young Sam group are making last-ditch efforts to escape from the Hanbo financial scandal and the "Presidential Election" funds scandal, resorting to appeasement, deception and ruthless suppression.
However, the south Korean people are further intensifying their struggle for the prompt resignation and overthrow of Kim Young Sam. feeling extremely uneasy at this, the Kim Young Sam group are trying to find a way out in frantic confrontation moves against the DPRK.
We cannot overlook the hostile act of the Kim Young Sam group who are unhesitatingly resorting to an extremely dangerous military adventure to save themselves from ruin.
The south Korean puppets would be well advised to ponder over the serious consequences to be entailed by such reckless military actions and act with discretion.

Protest of Jongyojo
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The National Union of Teachers (Jongyojo) of south Korea vowed to launch a protest against the disciplinary measures against its chairman and branch chiefs, a Seoul-based radio said.
On June 3, the puppet clique imposed two months of disciplinary confinement on Jongyojo chairman Kim Kwi Sik and its Seoul branch chief Ryu Su Gyong, saying that as Jongyojo is an "illegal organization", conducting activities in it is "violation of law".
Earlier, they took a disciplinary measure against the chief of Jongyojo's north Chungchong provincial branch on May 19 and threatened such an action against the chiefs of the south Korean Kangwon Provincial, Inchon, Taegu, south Jolla provincial and Pusan branches.
Angered by the unreasonable disciplinary measures, Jongyojo declared that it would immediately take an administrative suit against them, bring the case before International Court of Justice and, at the same time, hold rallies and demonstrations under the sponsorship of municipal and provincial branches.
Kim Young Sam group hit for bloody suppression
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today denounces the Kim Young Sam group for intensifying the brutal suppression of the students affiliated with the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon).
The news analyst says:
A few days ago, the fascist clique held a meeting of public peace-related ministers in which they cried for "a tough response" to "violent demonstrations" of students. At an emergency meeting of public peace-related ministers they gave "special instructions" to arrest all of the "Hanchongryon" leading officials by the end of the month, describing them as "prime movers of enemy-benefitting violence". The puppet Prime Minister and the bosses of the "New Korea Party" cried for repression of demonstrations of "Hanchongryon"-lining students and an "immediate dissolution" of the organisation, describing the umbrella organisation of the one million south Korean students as a "group of those engaged in violence and murder".
All this shows to what extent the Kim Young Sam group's "operation to stifle Hanchongryon" has gone.
The fascist clique claim that the students are to blame for the death of a policeman. This reminds people of a thief crying "stop thief !" The south Korean puppets are to blame for the death of the riot policeman as well as that of a young citizen.
This notwithstanding, the puppets call "Hanchongryon" a "group of hooligans and murderers". This is an expression of their sinister intention to crack down at the point of bayonet upon the people fighting for the overthrow of the puppets and prevent their destruction.
No matter what desperate efforts the puppets make under the cloak of "public peace", they cannot block the just struggle of "Hanchongryon" and pro-democracy forces.
Intensified crackdown on "Hanchongryon"
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The "civilian" fascist clique of south Korea arrested four hardcore members of "Hanchongryon" (the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils) on charge of violation of the "National Security Law" on Thursday, as regards students' demonstration for the fifth-term ceremony of "Hanchongryon".
Among them was Pak Kyu Sang, a student of Chonnam National University who is director of the secretariat of "Hanchongryon", a radio report from Seoul said.
It is unprecedented that the notorious "NSL" above "law on assembly and demonstration" has been invoked against the patriotic students involved in the demonstration.
Timing to coincide with the arrest, the puppet Prime Minister called a "meeting of security-related ministers" and instructed them to "break up rallies and demonstration of students at the initial stage and sternly punish those students involved."
Highly important guideline indicating how to develop musical art along Juche line
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- "Let us compose more music which will contribute to education in the party's monolithic ideology", a historic work of Secretary Kim Jong Il, is a highly important guideline which must be permanently followed in the building and development of Juche-based musical art for its profound ideas and theories, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today.
In his speech to officials in the field of literature and art and composers on June 7, 1967, Secretary Kim Jong Il said that, in order to make the ideological content of musical pieces consistent with the monolithic ideology of the party, it is important to create famous songs based on the revolutionary tradition and musical pieces which represent in various forms the noble ideological feelings of the Korean people who are devoting themselves to the thorough implementation of the teachings of President Kim Il Sung and the party's policies.
The work indicates ways of thoroughly establishing Juche in the creation of musical pieces and eliminating the old pattern and making a new change in the field of opera, of actively encouraging the use of national instruments and further developing them in keeping with the requirements of the contemporary times and of correctly inheriting and developing the revolutionary tradition of musical art.
The author of the article says:
The original ideas and theories expounded in the work have been applied in the practice of musical creation, with the result that a new historical phase has been opened in creating revolutionary hymns in our country.
The DPRK has witnessed the creation of a large number of famous songs highly praising the revolutionary exploits, wise leadership and noble virtue of President Kim Il Sung and praying for his immortality.
In particular, the Juche-based orchestral music is very popular among our people because it was created with folk songs and famous songs loved by them.
The cause of radically improving the level of opera has been successfully carried out under the intelligent guidance of General Kim Jong Il. Now, our country is fully demonstrating its honor as the homeland of "Phibada"-style revolutionary operas.
Our country is highly praised as a "country of famous songs". We owe all this entirely to the distinguished intelligence and energetic guidance of the General.
We mean what we say
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- South Korea's "Minister of The National Unification Board" Kwon O Gi recently slandered the north over the food problem, according to a news report He spoke ill of the north's political system, describing its temporary food shortage caused by floods in consecutive years as "contradiction of the socialist system" and "structural problem".
His intolerable abuses are part of the south Korean puppets' despicable activities for obstructing international humanitarian food aid to the north, hurting the anthropocentric socialist system of the north and destroying it from within.
Admittedly, they have tried hard to impede the international community's humanitarian assistance in such a way as politicizing it.
The fact clearly shows that they are human dregs who have no ounce of conscience and no compatriotic feelings but only follow the imperialist reactionary forces in their attempt to abuse the food problem for their sinister political purpose.
The imperialist reactionaries, in a bid to pressurize the Korean people to give up socialism chosen by themselves, are urging "reforms" of the north's system and using food as a political weapon and leverage of pressure.
Our people will never abandon their faith and system and overcome the temporary difficulty without fail in high spirit of hard struggle and with sincere assistance of the honest-minded people of the world, international bodies and organizations that value justice and humanitarianism.
If the imperialist reactionaries and the south Korean puppets further intensify the anti-socialist moves, availing themselves of our food problem, it will be recorded as an unprecedented unethical crime and disgrace in the history of the 20th century and our people and army will make them pay dearly for it. We mean what we say.
Poem praising Secy. Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Chairman A. Grishin and secretary general N. Zasopatiko of the Association for the Study and Dissemination of the Juche Idea named after Secretary Kim Jong Il in Kazakhstan wrote a poem in praise of Secretary Kim Jong Il. In the poem entitled "We sing of the respected comrade Kim Jong Il" they said Korea is dynamically advancing along the road of Juche under the wise guidance of Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Secretary Kim Jong Il is a paragon of intrepid brilliant commanders whom everyone should follow, the writers stressed.
They also wrote he is a master of the Juche idea, a person who looks after all peoples, a staunch anti-imperialist fighter, a defender of peace and a standard-bearer of friendship.
The whole planet and earth follow him whose wisdom, will, idea and grit are longed for by all peoples, and the Juche idea is brilliantly shining all over the world, the poem stressed.
Kim Young Sam isolated within ruling party
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Young Sam of south Korea, through a senior official of "Chongwadae", on Wednesday urged the "council for political development", which newly emerged within the ruling "New Korea Party", to "restrain" itself, according to a Seoul-based radio report.
The council was set up by some persons from Kim Young Sam's "democratic faction" within the party, to resist Kim who excluded them and appointed Ri Hoe Chang as the party chairman.
This body has radically grown these days while a number of "Presidential" aspirants within the party are intensifying their offensive against Ri's involvement in the competition for the "Presidential" candidate.
The council on June 3 elected its leading members and made up its "decision-making and executive committees". Included in the mare former and incumbent speakers of "parliament" and "lawmakers" and many other influential figures from "democratic and non-democratic factions".
The facts show that a new anti-Kim Young Sam group has been formed in the ruling "NKP" with the "Presidential Elections" approaching.
Kim Young Sam's quick reaction to the council's action reveals his isolation even within the ruling party.
