Telegraph order of Secy.Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Secreatry Kim Jong Il, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, issued telegraph order No. 003 "On thanking agricultural working people and helpers throughout the country for winding up rice-transplanting".
The order dated June 6, 1997 noted that the agricultural working people, the people's army soldiers and helpers throughout the country have qualitatively finished the rice- transplanting in time as required by the Juche farming method, remaining loyal to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to victoriously conclude the "Arduous March" by doing this year's farming well, thus opening up a bright vista for reaping a bumper harvest.
It further said:
Highly estimating them for making a breakthrough for reaping a bumper harvest in this year's farming by qualitatively winding up the rice-transplanting in time in high-pitched revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and hard struggle, I order as follows:
1. My thanks should be extended to the agricultural working people, people's army soldiers and helpers for their great contributions to victoriously concluding this year's rice-transplanting in socialist rural communities in hearty response to the agriculture-first policy of our Party.
2. All the agricultural working people, people's army soldiers and helpers should not rest content with their success but should engage themselves in weeding and proper manuring of crops and thus bring about an unprecedented bumper harvest this meaningful year.
I am firmly convinced that the Party, the army and the people will make radical progress in this year's agricultural production to victoriously conclude the "Arduous March" through a general mobilisation.
Another order to suppress "Hanchongryon"
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam "civilian" fascist clique on June 8 manipulated the puppet Ministry of Education to order the universities to severely punish the students of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hangchongryon) who played a leading role in the inaugural meeting of the fifth-term "Hanchongryon" and immediately close down its offices throughout the universities, said a radio report from Seoul.
The fascists also ordered that the fund-raising activities of the students under "Hanchongryon" should be blocked so that it may be stifled.
They are hell-bent on a reactionary offensive agaisnt the student movement, shifting on to the students the blame for the violence they caused by driving the riot police to block the peacefully-planned ceremony of "Hanchongryon."
Kim Young Sam group hit for intensifying fascist suppression of "Hanchongryon"
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today denounces the Kim Young Sam group for intensifying fascist suppression of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon.)
The fascist clique arrested more than 1,400 students as of June 7, and decided to issue warrants of arrest for 106 more patriotic-minded students for their involvement in the fighting for the inauguration of the fifth-term "Hanchongryon", the news analyst says, and continues:
The intensified suppression of "Hanchongryon" is the last- ditch effort of the fascist dictator doomed to ruin.
The inaugural meeting of the "Hanchongryon" is an annual peaceful event which tallies with the action rules of the organisation. It, therefore, can be neither an "enemy-benefitting violent rally" nor the target of suppression in any case.
The fascist clique seek to emerge from the crisis by stifling "Hanchongryon" which is taking the lead in the struggle against Kim Young Sam and the "New Korea Party" and by obliterating all other pro-reunification, pro-democracy forces of south Korea. There is no guarantee that the Kim Young Sam group of murderers will not stain the whole land of south Korea with the blood of the students and people.
The puppets should be mindful that the harsher suppression, the earlier their disgraceful destruction.
DFRF calls for anti-Kim Young Sam struggle
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland called upon the south Korean people to overthrow the "civilian" dictatorial regime and oust Kim Young Sam at once, carrying forward the spirit of the June resistance ten years ago.
It issued an appeal to the south Korean people on Monday with the lofty intention of the resistance being insulted in south Korea.
The appeal said the heroic action of the resistance's martyrs should not be in vain and their patriotic desire should be realised without fail.
The people's resistance was a righteous mass uprising against the colonial fascist rule of outsiders and their stooges and for the independence and democratization of south Korean society and also a patriotic struggle for the peace and peaceful reunification of the country, it said.
Today, however, south Korea has been harassed by more terrible fascist rule and more corrupt "politics" of the Kim Young Sam clique of traitors than the preceding military dictatorship.
The appeal called upon the south Korean people to unite with each other and fight to remove the "civilian" dictatorship and build a new independent, democratic society free from outsiders and fascist dictatorship.
It also called upon all the people in the north and the south to achieve nationwide unity, smash the anti- reunification moves of the local and foreign separatists and move up the day of national reunification.

Rodong Sinmun calls for overthrowing traitorous regime in south Korea
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Monday carried a by-lined article on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Korean people's June 10 Independence Movement against Japanese imperialism (June 10, 1926).
The article called for overthrowing Kim Young Sam regime at once in order to put an end to the colonial fascist rule of outside forces in south Korea and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country at an early date.
The article said:
The June 10 Independence Movement was an explosion of the pent-up resentment of the Korean people against the Japanese imperialist aggressors and a mass patriotic struggle to regain the territory and national sovereignty from Japanese imperialism.
The earnest desire of the Korean people for national sovereignty and independence has not yet been realized in one half of the country though it is a long time since the June 10 movement.
Our people have suffered from the tragic national division for over half a century after Korea's liberation and the south Koreans deprived of national dignity and sovereignty are still subjected to colonial slavery owing to the U.S. military occupation of south Korea and its policy of colonial enslavement.
The June 10 Independence Movement now inspires the south Koreans to fight to restore national sovereignty and dignity and achieve democracy and reunification.
Students and other people in south Korea should continue their struggle for independence, democracy and national reunification against outside forces and dictatorship until the termination of foreign domination and subjugation and the overthrow of the corrupt regime of Kim Young Sam.
Despicable colors of Japanese politician
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today blasts a top foreign policy maker of the Japanese ruling Liberal Democratic Party for faithfully serving the United States and the south Korean puppets and slandering the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
In a commentary the daily says:
He, in a recent press interview, said a delegation's visit and the solution to the outstanding problems are impossible without the DPRK's "positive response" to the proposed "four-way talks" and the "suspected kidnapping of a Japanese girl". And he, touring some countries, called for "cooperation" in an effort to make the DPRK come out to the "talks".
The fact clearly shows that he regards the "talks" and the "suspected kidnapping" as preconditions for all the solution.
He, who used to blindly support the united states and the south Korean puppets, has become a political illiterate and amaurotic person who cannot tell a from b but only acts as told by the U.S. and the puppets.
He, with no sense of independence, has been in collusion with the U.S. and the puppets.
It is disgraceful for the Japanese people to have such a running-dog and waiting maid faithfully serving the U.S. and the south Korean puppets.
It is not hard to estimate the Liberal Democratic Party's foreign policies shaped by him.
Japan's diplomacy is not "independent diplomacy", as advertised by the authorities, but dependent one.
The faithful servant of the U.S. and the south Korean puppets deserves dishonor and ridicule.

"The Korean people are determined to advance along the road of their own choice in firm unity around their party and their leader."
"They have erected a lot of world-startling monuments without vacillation in face of difficulties under the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il."
Appeal to set July 8 as day of praying for eternity of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- An appeal to political parties, public organizations and friendship associations around the world was released on May 28 by the Zimbabwe Africa National Union-Patriotic Front Central Committee, the Zimbabwe-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Association and the Zimbabwean National Committee for Honoring the Memory of President Kim Il Sung.
They appealed to set July 8 every year as day of praying for eternity of the great sun of Juche, President Kim Il Sung, and to hold various events to mark the day in order to praise and learn from his feats and pray for his eternity.
President Kim Il Sung illumined the road of humankind with the immortal Juche idea, created a new era of independence and devoted his precious life to peace and independence all over the world and freedom and happiness of all people, said the appeal.
It added that he was a great thinker and theoretician, master of leadership and kind father of the oppressed people.
It stressed that though he passed away, his feats for mankind and the era as well as his august name would be immortal in the minds of mankind.
Inheritance of June resistance vowed
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Ri Jong Sang, Chief of the Pyongyang mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK), was interviewed by KCNA on Monday to mark the 10th anniversary of the June popular resistance.
He said Kim Young Sam, who also participated in the June resistance, shouting "down with dictatorship", has trampled down the desire of the resistance fighters with "civilian dictatorship" and resulted in today's political, economic and social crisis through oppression and deception, turning his back on the nation, the people and democracy, behind the facade of "inheritance of the spirit of the June resistance," and "democratic reform".
Ri Jong Sang went on:
"The immediate resignation of the dictator Kim Young Sam is the unanimous demand of the people and the most urgent task of the nation."
"The NDFSK and south Korean people will kindle the torch of the June resistance again to overthrow "civilian"-veiled dictatorship without fail and achieve independence, democracy and reunification."
End of Cold War, failure of superpowers' policy of strength
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Several years have passed since the end of the Cold War, but the imperialists claim that it means their "victory".
Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article in this regard says:
The Cold War was a wrong showdown of strength which obstructed the sound development of the world and its durable peace. Therefore, there can be no question concerning who wins in it or not today when the Cold War is over.
Over the end of the Cold War, the imperialists claim that socialism is defeated by capitalism. Their allegation does not sound reasonable.
From the viewpoint of impartiality and historic development, the end of the Cold War means the failture of superpowers in their policy of strength. In other words, with the end of the Cold War the showdown of the two superpowers--the United States and the Soviet Union--came to a close.
After the end of the Cold War the United States advertised that it was the only superpower in the world and tried to maintain and expand the old order of domination and subjugation, persistently pursuing the policy of strength, but failed to justify itself in many issues.
The contradictions and antagonism among imperialist powers, which were concealed in the period of the Cold War, have come up again to the surface and their strife for domination over wider areas deepened, precipitating the crisis and decline of the imperialists as a whole.
The end of the Cold War is an important prerequisite to the realisation of independence.
Great efforts have been made to revive socialism, though the imperialist's raised cheers over its "end".
All the facts vividly prove that the end of the Cold War does not mean the "victory" of the imperialists and that the situation is not in favor of the imperialists who are seeking world supremacy.
With any sophism the imperialists cannot distort the stark historical facts.

He called for studying and disseminating the Juche idea this year more deeply than ever before.

Rodong Sinmun on learning from revolutionary spirit of soldiers
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- One year has passed since Secretary Kim Jong Il gave highly important teachings on learning from the revolutionary spirit of soldiers. On this occasion Rodong Sinmun carries an editorial titled "Let us step up socialist construction in revolutionary spirit of soldiers".
The policy of Secretary Kim Jong Il for all people to learn from the spirit carries his lofty intention to put forward the people's army, the pillar and main force of our revolution, as a model, accelerate the revolutionary development and working-classization of the whole society, firmly defend and exalt the Korean-style socialism, the editorial says, and goes on:
In the course of learning from the spirit in the past one year the Korean people have prepared themselves as true revolutionaries with absolute spirit of defending the leader at the risk of their lives and strong revolutionary character and collective spirit and powerfully waged the struggle to implement the revolutionary economic strategy advanced by the party.
The Korean People's Army was, is and will be the pillar and hardcore unit of revolution.
It is the steadfast determination and will of Secrertary Kim Jong Il to educate the whole society on revolutionary lines and assimilate it to the working class with the people's army as a model and open up a new epochal phase of our revolution in the spirit of soldiers.
Herein lies the way to cement the singlehearted unity of our revolutionary ranks around Secretary Kim Jong Il and display the spirit of socialist Korea powerfully and proudly.
Rodong Sinmun calls for immediate overthrow of Kim Young Sam regime
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- As they won in the June resistance, unyielded to the brutal suppression by the fascist dictators, the south Korean people must overthrow the Kim Young Sam regime of traitors before its term expires and realise their desire for new politics, new life as early as possible by uniting under the banner of patriotism and justice.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in an editorial article titled "corrupt regime should be overthrown in spirit of June people's resistance".
The daily says:
Ten years have passed since the resistance. But none of what the resisters desired has been realised. In south Korea the fascist rule has continued under the "civilian" veil and the reality is as horrible as that before the resistance.
From four years of the crime-woven rule by the Kim Young Sam clique, the south Korean people have drawn a serious lesson, deeply aware that they should topple his regime as soon as possible so as to realise their long-cherished desire.
In the June resistance all the pro-democracy forces fought heroically and brought the heinous military dictators to their knees. Let us rise up in a righteous struggle to overthrow the Kim Young Sam group, traitorous, fascist, corrupt and separatist, and pave the way for the establishment of an independent, democratic government, carrying forward their spirit. This is the slogan the south Korean people are holding high and an urgent requirement of the situation.
Everyone who wants independence, democracy and reunification and aspires after an independent, creative life should turn out in the anti-Kim Young Sam regime fight.
The immediate overthrow of the Kim Young Sam regime is the only choice of the south Korean people. The outbreak of another June people's resistance is inevitable in south Korea.
Anniversary of June 10 Independence Movement against Japanese imperialism marked
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang meeting was held today to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Korean people's June 10 Independence Movement against Japanese imperialism.
On June 10, 1926, tens of thousands of people staged a demonstration in Seoul, chanting such slogans as "Long live the independence of Korea" and "Japanese troops, go home". It was a patriotic mass struggle for national sovereignty and independence against the Japanese imperialists' atrocious colonial rule over Korea.
Through this struggle, the Korean people fully revealed the Japanese imperialists' aggressive nature and deceptiveness of their "cultural rule" and dealt a telling blow at their colonial rule.
In a report at the meeting, Paek Nam Jun, Director of the Secretariat of the C.C., the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland, said:
It is 71 years since the June 10 independence movement and more than half a century since Korea was liberated from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule. However, the national sovereignty is still violated ruthlessly in one half of the country.
The United States, which occupied south Korea in place of Japanese imperialism, has maintained its outrageous colonial rule there for 50 odd years and is inspiring the south Korean bellicose elements to a war against the north.
If the U.S. truly wants peace and security in the Korean Peninsula, it should immediately respond to the DPRK's positive proposal for a peace-keeping mechanism. And it must renounce its policy of hostility towards the DPRK, one of the leftovers of the cold war era, and stop sheltering Kim Young Sam, who is trying to put the brakes on the improvement of DPRK-U.S. relations.
The Japanese authorities must give up their policy of hostility toward the DPRK at once. They must awake from the daydream of gratifying the ambition for reinvasion of Korea, make an official apology and governmental compensation for all the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean people in the past, including the crime related to the "Comfort Women for the Army" issue.
For the reconciliation and unity of the Korean nation and reunification of the country it is imperative to remove Kim Young Sam, an obstacle to their achievement.
The entire fellow countrymen in the north, the south and overseas should turn out in the efforts to make 1997 a historic year in opening a new chapter of national reconciliation and unity, and a meaningful year of solidarity for national independence and peace.
