Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party made public a statement on Monday denouncing the south Korean puppets for manipulating newspaper, Chosun Ilbo, to seriously slander the political system of the north. The statement says: This can never be pardoned as it is a most provocative declaration of war against the northern people. Chosun Ilbo, a group of despicable hackwriters, resorted to flunkeyist and treacherous, ultra rightist anti-communist moves from the outset. It has heinously slandered and insulted the north's system as a reptile trumpeter of Kim Young Sam clique. We will not pardon the provokers who slandered and insulted our inviolable system, that is our dignity and life, but deal a thousand-fold merciless punishment at them sooner or later. This punishment will be dealt regardless of time and place and continue till Chosun Ilbo ceases to exist. Time will certainly prove how decisive our warning is. The south Korean ruling quarters must not act rashly, clearly mindful that their movement is watched by the Korean people. Chosun Ilbo, a waiting maid of the corrupt master of "Chongwadae", will meet the same miserable lot as Kim Young Sam, who is doomed to ruin.

Review of Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a report that Secretary Kim Jong Il, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, inspected KPA unit No.671. It is illustrated by pictures of him seeing servicemen in military training and an art performance given by them as well as a photo he posed for with servicemen of the unit. The paper runs an article titled "The general defending the Kim Il Sung motherland with arms" which tells about Secretary Kim Jong Il's wise guidance over the army building in recent three years. It gives nearly two pages to "The leader always stands on Mt. Paektu", an epic dedicated to the third anniversary of the passing away of President Kim Il Sung. Appearing in the paper is a declaration on situation, published by the Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea as regards the Kim Young Sam group's frantic efforts to disorganize and stifle the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils. Provokers destined to doom

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Kim Young Sam of south Korea recently showed up at the Sosan Air Force Base to inspect an "aerial mobile demonstration" and issued an order to complete preparations of war against the north. Viewing the fact as an undisguised provocation to the north, Rodong Sinmun today says in a commentary: We will not idly look on it. Some time ago, the south Korean puppets staged a drill of landing on the north's coast on the East and West Seas of Korea. Worse still, in the military demarcation line area, they threatened "countermeasure", "sea of fire" and "retaliation" by the use of chemical weapons. The Korean Peninsula is now in a timebomb situation caused by the warmongers in the grip of a serious crisis. We truly want peace but never beg for it. It is the revolutionary spirit and principled stand of our people and army to answer enmity with enmity and good intention with good intention. If the warmongers at home and abroad really want a war against us, we will not avoid it. Aggression will encounter with thousandfold retaliatory blows. If the Kim Young Sam regime ignite a war against us in league with aggression forces, we will annihilate the provokers by tapping all our potentialities, and fully demonstrate the dignity and honor of Korea, the homeland of Juche.

Every day of President Kim Il Sung full of revolutionary activities

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) - President Kim Il Sung worked for the revolution with superhuman power and energies all his life. This is a story about the revolutionary activities the President conducted energetically on May 5, 1992 without resting even a moment at his far advanced age of 80. At 5:30 he left the Kumsusan Assembly Hall (now Kumsusan Memorial Palace) for the City of Kaesong. On the way he aquainted himself with conditions of roads and bridges and took a simple meal by the roadside at 7:00. Arriving in the city at 7:50, he visited Koryo Songgyungwan University and then, Manwol Pavilion at 9:30, Sonjuk Bridge and Pyochung Monument at 10:17. He also inspected the mausoleum of King Wang Kon (founder of Koryo) at 10:37, Kaesong Textile Mill at 13:55 and King Kongmin's Mausoleum at 14:30. After looking round Pakyon falls at 15:50, he went to the Insam (ginseng) Fields of Pakyon Cooperative Farm at 16:30 and drove back to Pyongyang at around 19:00. the length of the day's journey amounts to 440 kilometres or more. Then, in Pyongyang the President heard historians' opinions on his on-site guidance and examined problems and documents submitted. His great life had been woven with such days. So, an overseas Korean journalist wrote in a south Korean magazine, remembering the President's image in the last moments of his life: "Though he is too advanced in his age to stand up to strain, President Kim Il Sung went on a forced march tirelessly in hot weather of 37-38 degrees centigrade. " "He accompanied ex-U.S. President Carter to the West Sea Barrage and other places, when the latter visited Korea, and had talks with him for hours. After the time was set for inter-Korean summit talks, he said a big stride would be made for reunification, and settled a large number of knotty problems, made journeys for on-site guidance under heavy rains and had talks with officials."

DPRK delegation on Kim Young Sam's speech

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, at the 19th U.N. Special Session, condemned Kim Young Sam's "speech" at the session on June 23. Kim Young Sam called for inter-Korean cooperation for enviromental protection and preservation in the Demilitarized Zone. The DPRK delegation branded his remarks as revealing his traitorous intention to perpetuate the division of the country. The delegation further said: "The natural environment of the DMZ as well as the ecological balance on the Korean Peninsula have been destroyed by the concrete wall built by the south Korean authorities in the area south of the military demarcation line bisecting the nation." "The south Korean authorities should recover the beautiful natural environment of the country and remove the concrete wall for national reunification instead of crying for 'protection' of natural environment in the DMZ to make fun of not only the Korean people but also the world people."

Kim Young Sam's suppression of "Hanchongryon" denounced in Japan

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Federation of South Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Unification made public a statement on June 11 denouncing Kim Young Sam for trying to emasculate the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), according to Minjok Sibo, an overseas Koreans' newspaper published in Japan. It said that Kim Young Sam is branding "Hanchongryon" as an "enemy-benefiting organisation" in an attempt to conceal his illegal acts and prolong the regime and urged him to stop the crackdown upon the student movement. It also strongly demanded the immediate repeal of the undemocratic "National Security Law".

Kim Young Sam group's move to stamp out "Hanchongryon" under fire

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) released a declaration on situation June 25 over the Kim Young Sam group's desperate efforts to stamp out the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), the Seoul-based radio voice of national salvation said. The Kim Young Sam "civilian" government has concentrated on "obliterating Hanchongryon" in order to paralyse pro-democracy forces and establish intelligence-based politics and horror-ridden rule. This is the main characteristic of current situation, the declaration said. It continued: Upset by vigorous student movement that helps accelerate the end of "civilian" dictatorship, Kim Young Sam is scheming to totally disorganize "Hanchongryon" by labelling it as "pro-north enemy-benefitting forces". But, he can never extricate himself from the list of those to be punished. The Kim Young Sam group, viewing "Hanchongryon" as a scapegoat for the upcoming "Presidential Election", are running amuck to materialize the ambition for second-term office by suppressing pro-democracy forces. But, it will only shorten the remaining days of the "civilian"-veiled dictator. The group that should be overthrown for democratization of this society is not "Hanchongryon" but the "civilian"-veiled dictatorial regime. What should be rooted out is none other than the "Agency for National Security Planning", the headquarters of underhand politics and the "National Security Law", a fascist law rare in the world. All people should encourage the students trampled underfoot by the "civilian" dictatorship and turn out as one in the struggle to topple Kim Young Sam in order to open up a decisive phase for democratization. If one remains a passive onlooker to the outrageous suppression of "Hanchongryon," he can not be justified before history and the nation nor can he be proud and free in future. All should join in the nationwide struggle to overthrow Kim Young Sam, disorganize the "ANSP" and repeal the fascist law so as to cut the limbs of "civilian" dictatorship scheming to stamp out "Hanchongryon".

It is 10 years ago that Mun Yong Sam began learning go chess. His father, an official of the go chess society, taught his son how to play the go chess. One year later, the boy participated in a national go chess tournament, and was noticed as a promising player. His talents were fully displayed at the 14th World Amateur Go Chess Championship. He was also successful at the 15th World Amateur Go Chess Championship. The organisers of the recent championship were struck with admiration at the rapid development of go chess technique in Korea, saying that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is among the three world champions.

"Best country in the world"

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The magazine Ryomyong No. 2 published by the Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) carried an article captioned "Best country in the world" by Choe Sung Jin, a freelance journalist of south Korea. The article says led by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the northern half of Korea is a dignified, great country, which enjoys the highest glory in the world and which is envied by the world people. It goes on to say: President Kim Il Sung, who was possessed of a clairvoyant wisdom and a distinguished political sense, led the world politics of the 20th century with his outstanding ability. The northern half of Korea demonstrates its might as a powerful country because it is under Secretary Kim Jong Il, the greatest of great men, after the President's death. The northern half of Korea has become the most dignified, independent state in the world because it has the leader of the nation in the person of Kim Jong Il, who defends and glorifies the sovereignty and destiny of the nation. Led by Kim Jong Il, the people in the northern half of Korea have checked the military offensive of foreign aggression forces with their own defence capabilities, overcome the unprecedented strategic blockade by the Western countries with their powerful self-reliant economy and smashed manoeuvrings of the U.S. which set the United Nations and other international organisations in motion, with world-startling diplomacy. The President made efforts for the welfare of the people all his life and his august name is associated with it. The President was, indeed, the tender-hearted father of the people, a great leader and a shining symbol of glory and happiness. The people in the northern half of Korea are blessed with illustrious leaders generation after generation. With this source of all blessings, they are the most blessed people in the world. And they have the greatest idea, the greatest Party and the best social system in the world.

NDFSK on Chosun Ilbo's editorial

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) issued a statement on Saturday criticising the Chosun Ilbo newspaper for viciously insulting and slandering the north Korean system in an editorial. The Seoul-based radio voice of national salvation quoted the statement as saying: Chosun Ilbo's anti-north editorial is a crime in that it gave an impetus to inter-Korean discord and confrontation and made a frontal challenge to the people's desire for collaboration and peaceful reunification with the north. The provocative editorial little different from declaration of war against the north eloquently proves that the newspaper is not a simple press medium but a house of agents of the "Agency for National Security Planning" (ANSP) and extremely rightist new mccarthyists who stand against the north and reunification. This also shows that the days of Chosun Ilbo manipulated by the "ANSP" are numbered, forsaken by the public, as the days of "civilian" dictatorship are. No matter how much Chosun Ilbo may slander, the northern system is the most stable in the world and is supported by the masses and has a bright future. The northern society, which has a strong sense of national independence and a collective will to overcome difficulties through self-reliance, is unreservedly demonstrating its appearance as a powerful driving force of national reunification. The north is dignified and famous for independence, self-sufficiency and self-reliance in defence. It is self-evident that hostility and provocation to the north and increase of the danger of war will make peaceful reunification more distant and precipitate the moment of the nation's co-extermination. The Kim Young Sam regime is increasing the degree of confrontation with the north to an intolerable extent, manipulating Chosun Ilbo to blow a heinous anti-north trumpet. The regime aims to remain in power till the expiration of its term even by putting the nation and the people on the altar of war. Chosun Ilbo, with a timebomb of joint suicide with the dying "civilian" dictatorship, is in a hopeless quagmire. The press, whose mission it is to inform the people of justice and truth and serve social progress, has no room for such shameless and heinous plot-breeders and reactionary trumpeters as Chosun Ilbo. Unless Chosun Ilbo is removed, democratisation of the south Korean press is empty talk and a lie. In the name of the people, the NDFSK bitterly denounces the unpardonable crime of Chosun Ilbo, which insulted the dignified northern system and made a frontal challenge to the desire of the nation and the people with a pen spoiled by hackwork for the Kim Young Sam dictatorship that is thrown into the dustbin of history. Chosun Ilbo must immediately apologize for its despicable hackwork and antinational crime and explode itself. Our patriotic-minded people will explode Chosun Ilbo and practically show how stern historical punishment is. At the same time, they will spot and severely punish the hackwriters of Chosun Ilbo who serve to retreat history and stain the national spirit. The officials and employees of Chosun Ilbo must lend an ear to the strong warning of national history and resign at once rather than die a dog's death as agitators for fascism, war and division. All the people must no longer subscribe for Chosun Ilbo, the devil in press circles, but boycott the reptile press. We are determined to fight on till Chosun Ilbo ceases to exist and is thrown into the dustbin of history. Time will prove the result.
