Lecture on third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung
Tokyo, July 5 (KNS-KCNA) -- A lecture was given by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in Tokyo on July 5 to mark the third anniversary of the death of President Kim Il Sung.
Present at the lecture were Ho Jong Man, Chief Vice-Chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, and other officials.
The participants saw a video lecture "The Great Leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung is the Eternal Sun that is always with Us."
S. Korean postal matter praying for eternal life of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA)-- Postal matter praying for the eternal life of the great leader President Kim Il Sung was mailed to people in north Chungchong Province, south Korea, according to the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation quoting information of the north Chungchong provincial committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK).
The postal matter was delivered by members of the April 15 comradeship society active in the province on June 8.
Written in the front of the postal matter 15 centimetres broad and 10 centimetres long is the immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung" against a bright sun and a blue Korean map and in the back side are letters reading:
President Kim Il Sung lives forever in the hearts of our nation and he will be immortal.
President Kim Il Sung praised by south Koreans
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Members of the society for eternal memory active in Inchon city, south Korea highly praised the immortal exploits of the great leader President Kim Il Sung, according to the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation quoting information of the Inchon city committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea.
They held a symposium on the subject "reunification policy of President Kim Il Sung and national reunification" to mark the third death anniversary of the President and the 25th anniversary of the publication of the July 4 North-South Joint Statement.
The chairman of the society at the symposium said that the President initiated the three principles of national reunification the keynote of which independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity, the proposal for founding the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo and the 10-point Programme of the great unity of the whole nation, which are the great charters acceptable to anyone who really wants reunification.
Speakers at the symposium hardened their resolution to actively strive to carry out the behests of President Kim Il Sung for the reunification of the country.
Floral basket from Libyan leader
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A floral basket came from leader of the Great September First Revolution of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Moammer El Gaddafi on the eve of the third death anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
Written on ribbons hanging from the basket were letters "H.E. The great leader Kim Il Sung will live forever".
The basket was handed to a DPRK official by Acting Secretary of the People's Bureau of Libya in Pyongyang Mohamed Ahmed Dallah.
Chongryon delegation visits Statue of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A delegation of Korean residents in Japan visited the Statue of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, the great leader, on Mansu Hill to lay a floral basket and make respects on July 6.
The delegation is staying in the homeland to mark his third death anniversary.
The delegation is led by Han Tok Su, Chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

President Kim Il Sung put his last signature to a document concerning national reunification on july 7, 1994, a day before he passed away. On this anniversary, papers come out with articles on the efforts and achievements he made for the country's reunification.
Given in the press is an account of a meeting held by unionists to make a pledge on the occasion of the third anniversary of the President.
Rodong Sinmun flashes a report that Korean Taekwon-do players won eleven gold medals in the first three days of the tenth World Taekwon-do Championship.

Trade unionists pledge loyalty
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Trade unionists made a pledge to uphold the great leader President Kim Il Sung for all ages and remain loyal and devoted to the idea and leadership of Secretary Kim Jong Il in one mind as the President requested.
Their meeting took place in front of the Party Foundation Monument in Pyongyang on Sunday.
The reporter and speakers said at the meeting that the President left as precious heritage on this land the greatest idea indicating the ideal and future of humankind, the most powerful party, army and people and the most advantageous Korean-style socialist system.
Thanks to General Kim Jong Il, the President is immortal as the eternal sun of Juche and his idea and feats will shine forever, they noted.
They stressed the need to hold the President in higher esteem than when he was alive, do everything as he did and become true loyal and filial subjects absolutely trusting and following only the respected General.
Book "Last Days of Great Life" published
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Book "Last Days of Great Life" was brought out by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House to commemorate the third anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung's death.
The book says that President Kim Il Sung completed his work before he passed away as if he had forseen what would happen to him.
It consists of seven chapters.
The first chapter deals with the unremitting efforts of the President to ensure the inheritance of the revolutionary line of the Workers' Party and people of Korea, the Juche line.
The second chapter says that the President formulated the history of the nation of five thousand years.
For instance, he found out the ancestral father of the nation, corrected the origin and development of ancient Korea and the history of Koguryo and led the work to rebuild the tombs of the first kings of dynasties.
The third and fourth chapters include stories saying that the President met all people whom he had to meet and immortalized the feats of fallen soldiers.
The fifth chapter deals with the President's teaching to accomplish the Juche revolutionary cause under the leadership of Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Included in the sixth and seventh chapters are stories saying that the President died at his post of duty, and unfogettable stories about relics he used in his last days.
Appeal of world Federation of Trade Unions
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The World Federation of Trade Unions called upon trade unions in all countries to intensify the international solidarity movement for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
In a statement published on June 24 to mark the month of international solidarity with the Korean people the international organisation said that if the premise for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea is to be arranged and the tension is to be relaxed, the United States should withdraw its nuclear weapons and troops from south Korea.
The statement noted that the south Korean authorities should abolish the fascist law which bans massive demonstrations for the country's reunification and blocks contacts between people in the north and the south.
The statement called upon all the trade unions of the world to support the just struggle of trade unions in south Korea.
Month of solidarity with Korean people abroad
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The June 25-July 27 month of international solidarity with the Korean people was opened in different countries.
B. Mohan, Chairman of the People's Front of India, Om Prakash Mantri, Secretary General of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, and other Indian political and public figures made speeches at a meeting held in New Delhi.
They denounced the United States and the south Korean puppets for committing large-scale war exercises to keep the situation strained, resorting to arms buildup, far from accepting the DPRK Government's proposal for establishing a new peace mechanism.
A joint appeal to governments, political parties, organisations and peace-loving people in different countries was adopted at the meeting.
The appeal called upon governments, political parties, organisations and justice- and peace-loving people of all countries to conduct the international solidarity movement to support and encourage the Korean people in their just efforts to reunify the country in an independent and peaceful way under the banner of the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo.

Korean Taekwondo players prove excellent
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Korean Taekwondo players won 11 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the first three-day competitions of the 10th World Taekwondo Championship opened in Russia on July 3.
Pak Myong Sun (1st grade), Kim Kwang Hui (2nd grade) and So Ok Ra (3rd grade) and Jang Kyong Ok ( 4th grade ) won the titles in the women's pattern individuals, while Ri Yong Il (4th grade) came top in the men's pattern individuals. Won Yong Nam and Paek Chun Ok chalked up the titles respectively in the men's and women's special techniques and Kim Yong Sun picked up a gold medal in the women's sparring below 63 kg category.
The DPRK won in men's and women's team pattern events and in women's special techinques.
The championship was participated in by over 1,200 players from some 70 countries including Russia, the Czech Republic, Canada, the U.S. and Malaysia.
President's immortal feats, fundamentals of Korean revolution
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The great leader President Kim Il Sung passed away but the immortal feats performed by him for the victory of the people's cause of independence, the socialist cause, are throwing rays as the eternal assets of the Korean revolution.

Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group of south Korea walked away Ri Jong Rin, acting chairman of the south headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon), persons related to Pomminryon and student Kang Wi Won, chairman of the fifth-term South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), who had done good things for national unity and reunification.
In this connection, the north headquarters of Pomminryon published a statement on Sunday denouncing the fascist repression and demanding their release.
The arrest of patriotic figures and youths is a crime that can be committed only by villains and traitors who are indifferent to the nation and ethics, the statement branded, and said:

Devoted effort to national reunification
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The great leader President Kim Il Sung wrote "Kim Il Sung. July 7, 1994" on the first page of a document concerning the reunification of the country after reading it the day before he passed away.
The autograph makes the Korean people look back on the immortal feats of the President for the reunification of the country.
The President felt sorrier than anyone else to see the nation's misfortune and pain caused by the division of the country and made unremitting efforts till his last moments to give the people a reunified country.
The President, who was the lodestar of national reunification and the tender-hearted father of nation, readily walked a long, rugged road and worked overnight to reunify the divided nation and regarded it as worthwhile.
He used to say that if the country was reunified, he would feel ten years younger than his age.
He advanced the three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity, the proposal for reunification by Confederacy and the 10-Point Programme of the great unity of the whole nation, which are three major pillars and charters for national reunification, in order to achieve national reunification at an early date.

Area of Kumsusan Memorial Palace newly arranged
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The area around the Kumsusan Memorial Palace where the great leader President Kim Il Sung lies in state has been newly arranged.
The immortality tower was built at Ryonghung crossroads, the entrance to Kum Song Street leading to the palace.
The tower, 90 odd metres high, is embossed with the golden star of Generalissimo and the golden letters "the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung will always be with us", symbolizing the glorious and sacred life of the President.
Vehicles can pass through the foundation of the tower, which stands across the road.
Arch tunnels made their way through Mt. Ami before the Kumsusan Memorial Palace.
Ryongsong and Rimhung Motorways were widened, the surrounding area arranged and a nearly 100 metre-long flyover built.
A forest was formed around the Kumsusan Memorial Palace with 6.4 million trees of over 60 kinds including pine-nut, cryptomeria, gingko and magnolia.
in particular, an ornamental forest was made with 30 odd kinds of trees in an arboretum, which is being built in the large area of 100 hectares toward Mt. Taesong over the Hapjang River.
Secretary Kim Jong Il saw miniatures of the area of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace several times and provided all the conditions for its completion.
Overseas compatriot on Korean nation blessed with great leaders
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A Korean-American Choe Jong Ryol, who was an advisor to the American headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon), published reminiscences titled "Our nation blessed with great leaders".
the 85-year-old woman, who was born in the period of the Japanese imperialist colonial rule, lived in the north of Korea after the country was liberated on August 15, 1945 and went to the south after the Korean war broke out. Later, she exiled herself in the united states.
In the reminiscences she said the destiny of the nation and individuals depends on their leader and that the Korean nation has been blessed with great leaders.
She said President Kim Il Sung was the savior of the nation and the founder of modern Korea who saved the nation from slavery and restored the broken history of the nation.
It is only too natural that modern Korea and the Korean nation are called Kim Il Sung Korea and Kim Il Sung Nation because they were rebuilt and developed by the President, she noted.
She also said it is the greatest fortune for the Korean nation to have such a rare great man as General Kim Jong Il as successor to the President.

"NDFSK" memorial delegation interviewed
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A memorial delegation of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) was interviewed by KCNA at its Pyongyang mission on Sunday on the occasion of the third anniversary of the death of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.

Epic dedicated to third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang-based papers today devote one whole page to an epic "May Kim Il Sung Homeland Prosper !." By Kim Man Yong to commemorate the third death anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
The poet published an epic "Comrade Kim Il Sung, Our Eternal Leader" to commemorate the President's first death anniversary in July 1995 and an epic "Pyongyang time will be everlasting" dedicated to the Workers' Party of Korea to commemorate his second death anniversary in July 1996.

Letters to Secy. Kim Jong Il from military attaches, economic and commercial councillors
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) - Secretary Kim Jong Il received a letter from the military attaches corps on the occasion of the third anniversary of the death of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
The letter was handed to an official concerned by military attache of the Cuban Embassy in Pyongyang Arnaldo Fernandez Rodriguez, doyen of the military attaches corps, Today.

Floral baskets from foreign heads of state and parties laid before Statue of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Floral baskets came from heads of state of Cambodia, Palestine, Nigeria, Guinea and Yemen on the occasion of the third anniversary of the death of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
Diplomatic envoys of these countries here today laid the floral baskets before the statue of the president on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.
Floral baskets from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Jordan were also laid before the Statue.
New tunnel built near memorial palace
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A new tunnel has been built through Mt.Ami near the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the sacred temple of Juche, to mark the third death anniversary of the great leader President Kim Il Sung.
With the tunnel built, the Ryongsong Motorway from Pyongyang airport leads directly to the memorial palace.
The letters "Kumnung Tunnel" written by the President are inscribed above both ends of the tunnel.
The double-arch tunnel looks like an ancient Korean wall gate and befits the gate of the sacred temple.
The construction of the tunnel not only changed the looks of the area but also makes it more convenient for Koreans and foreigners to visit the memorial palace.
The tunnel was built by soldiers of the Korean People's Security Forces in nine months.
The ceremony of marking the construction of the tunnel was held today, attended by Ri Jong Ok, politburo member of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee and Vice-President of the DPRK, and other senior party and state officials.
In his report at the ceremony, Hong Song Nam, alternate politburo member of the WPK Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the Administration Council, described the tunnel as a result of the noble morality and wise leadership of Secretary Kim Jong Il, who is determined to venerate the president as the founder of socialist Korea and the sun of all people for all ages, and a monumental edifice erected on the strength of military-civilian unity.
