Ok Son Hui wins gold medal
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Ok Son Hui of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea reportedly took off a gold medal in the 10th Asian Women's Weightlifting Championship held in Yangzhou, China.
She snatched 97.5 kilograms and jerked 120 kilograms for a two-lift total of 217.5 kilograms to carry off a gold medal in the 76 kg category weightlifting on July 13.
President Kim Il Sung praised as eternal sun
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Memorial lectures were given by ideological circles active in Jonju city, south Korea, to commemorate the third death anniversay of President Kim Il Sung, according to the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation quoting information of North Jolla Provincial Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK).
The lecturers said that the people in the south are boundlessly proud of upholding as the eternal sun such a peerless great man as President Kim Il Sung who performed immortal exploits for the nation and mankind.
They called for striving to build a reunified country with concerted efforts, true to the behests of the President who devoted everything to national reunification till the last moment of his life.
The participants prayed for the eternity of the President and hardened their determination to devote themselves to the struggle for reunification, holding high the banner of the great Juche idea under the guidance of Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Film show on 76th anniversary of Mongolian National Day
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) - A film show was held at the International House of Culture on Monday to mark the 76th anniversary of Mongolian National Day.
Present on invitation were D. Byambaa, Mongolian Ambassador to Korea, and Embassy officials.
Attending were Minister of Finance Yun Ki Jong who is concurrently Chairperson of the Korea-Mongolia Friendship Association, Vice-Chairperson of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Chon Yon Ok and other officials concerned.
The participants had a friendly talk before appreciating a Mongolian feature film "Big Family".
Institution of Juche calendar and the Day of Sun welcomed
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Soldiers of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces held a meeting at the April 25 House of Culture on Monday to welcome the resolution on instituting the Juche calendar and the Day of Sun.
It was stressed at the meeting that the resolution is the brilliant realization of the ardernt desire of the Korean people and officers and men of the Korean People's Army (KPA) to uphold President Kim Il Sung forever and a historical measure noteworthy in the history of humankind.
The meeting heard the determination to carry forward the President's cause of building the army and build up the KPA into his army, an invinicible strong army.
Present at the meeting were Vice Marshal of the KPA Jo Myong Rok, Director of the General Political Department of the KPA, and KPA Vice Marshal Kim Il Chol, First Vice-Minister of the People's Armed Forces.
Reminiscences of President Kim Il Sung published abroad
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- A publication ceremony of the fourth volume of the anti-Japanese revolution, part 1 of President Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century," and the book "Kim Il Sung and the Juche Idea" was held in Nepal on July 7 to mark his third death anniversary.
At the ceremony President of the Nepal Communist Party Central Committee (UML) Man Mohan Adhikari and Chairman of the National Council Beni Bahadur Karki declared the publication of the fourth volume translated by the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association and the book written by the Secretary General of the National Committee of Nepal for Honoring the Memory of President Kim Il Sung.
Printed in the book is a portrait of the President.
The author said in the preface that the President's name is shining with the revolutionary struggle of the world progressive people.
He noted that the Juche idea created by the president is a lighthouse which indicates the road of the revolutionary struggle of the people aspiring after independence, saying, "The President will always be with us and his idea and exploits be immortal".
The first volume of the reminiscences was published in Hindi by the New Age Publishing House, India, on July 7.
Anti-national crimes of s. Korean authorities flailed
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities are charging the south headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) with the violation of the "National Security Law" because it sent relief money to flood victims of the DPRK. The spokesman for the north headquarters of Pomminryon released a statement on July 14 in this regard.
The Central Committee of the Red Cross Society of the DPRK informed the south Korean Red Cross of the relevant measures which it took to clear away the flood damage after receiving 1.5 million yen in Japanese currency from the south headquarters through the joint secretariat of Pomminryon.
Now the south Korean authorities have arrested acting Chairman Ri Jong Rin and Vice-Chairman and section chiefs of the south headquarters and harshly persecuted them.
The spokesman bitterly denounced the persecution as an inhumanitarian, anti-national crime going against the national unity and the desire of the fellow countrymen for reunification.
He urged the Kim Young Sam group to set free the innocent figures of the south headquarters of Pomminryon at once.
South Korean authorities must stop gag on press
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group of south Korea slandered as "gag on the press" or "threat" the press of the north denouncing an anti-DPRK propaganda of the Chosun Ilbo newspaper in south Korea. The Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation reported that conscientious men of the press in south Korea satirized this as preposterous.
Ri, a pressman of the Donga Ilbo newspaper in south Korea, said that it is only too natural that the press of the north sharply retaliated the Chosun Ilbo for its vicious slander of the north's system and added:
"The authorities have described the anti-DPRK propaganda of the Chosun Ilbo as freedom of the press. Then it is also freedom of the press that the press of the north counterattacked Chosun Ilbo for its abuses.
It is the Kim Young Sam group that really tighten the gag on the press by slandering the north's press.
They made "guidelines for the press" and have security agents resident at the press organs whose duty is to inspect articles in advance and control the issue of the papers. By doing so, they not only severely trample down the freedom of the press but also hinder unbiased information services.
Worse still, they have forced the press organs to distort facts, carry false reports and conduct black propaganda. Chosun Ilbo's editorial is a thing which proves this.
It is a crime against the freedom of the press and an illegal act which deprives the people of the right to know.
It is an insult that Kim Young Sam, a fascist tyrant and a kingpin of repression of the press, has mentioned about the freedom of the press.
Kim Young Sam should make public the truth behind the anti-DPRK editorial carried by Chosun Ilbo by manipulating the "Agency for National Security Planning", apologize for it and step down.

Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries an editorial entitled "Let us vigorously launch the last charge of the 'arduous march'" and Minju Joson an editorial entitled "Let us step up the socialist construction with the pride and honour of being led by the great leader."
Rodong Sinmun prints a message of loyalty to Secretary Kim Jong Il sent by the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in connection with the publication of a resolution on exalting the revolutionary life and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung.
The paper reports that a board of on-site teachings of President Kim Il Sung, Secretary Kim Jong Il and comrade Kim Jong Suk, an indomitable communist revolutionary fighter, was erected at the Pyongyang Education Books Printing House.
Given in the paper is an account of a seminar on Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" held by teachers and students of Joson University under Chongryon.
Papers dedicate signed articles to the 11th anniversary of the publication of Secretary Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Some Problems of Education in the Juche Idea".
Edited in the press is news that memorial ceremonies were held in different countries to mark the third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Rodong Sinmun on ideological and spiritual traits of Korean people
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the 11th anniversary of the publication of "On Some Problems of Education in the Juche Idea", a famous work of Secretary Kim Jong Il (July 15, 1986).
Referring to the noble ideological and spiritual traits of the Korean people who have been educated and trained in the Juche idea, the author of the article says:
They arm themselves with the Juche idea and singleheartedly uphold the party and the leader with loyalty and filial piety.
Their loyalty and filial piety to their leaders are being cemented by unshakable faith and will, conscience and morality above obligation.

To achieve the victory in the "Arduous March" by concentrating all efforts on the economic front is the unwavering will of our party, the editorial says, and goes on:
Some time ago, Secretary Kim Jong Il clearly indicated the tasks and ways for the ultimate victory in the "Arduous March" on the basis of the scientific analysis of the obtaining situation and the economic conditions of our country.
He gave immediate tasks to be carried out in all domains of the national economy including coal, power and metal industries and railway transport and also showed the working style the officials should take.

President's last guidance trip
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung spent most of his lifetime visiting more than 18,000 units on guidance mission.
His visit to a farm on June 23, 1994 was his last local guidance.
The early summer of 1994 in Korea was warmer and drier than usual. Severe drought swept corn fields of cooperative farms.
As the drought grew more serious, the President went to cooperative farms despite warm weather to see how the fields were irrigated.
On June 21, he visited a potato field of a farm in Taesong district, Pyongyang, to see how a balloon irrigation facility was working.
Seeing a floating pipe fastened to a balloon spraying water, he could learn that this method was irrational because the hydrogen separating process was complicated and it needed lots of materials, funds, facilities and manpower.
He called for finding an effective irrigation method that suits the specific conditions of Korean fields.
Two days later, he went to a vegetable field of a farm in the district, where vinyl pipes laid on y-shaped poles were spraying water over vegetables.
He noted with satisfaction that the problem of field irrigation would be solved, adding that this method would make it possible to irrigate corn fields and vegetable fields on slopy hills.
However, nobody knew that this would be the last local guidance of the President.
Today the Korean people cherish his benevolence and build a prosperous country as he wished during his local journeys.
