We have already spat at Sankei Shimbun -- DPRK Flood Damage Committee

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the DPRK Flood Damage Committee was interviewed by KCNA today over the Japanese Sankei Shimbun's false reports aimed at spoiling the atmosphere of international assistance to the flood-hit country. The spokesman said: Recently, the Sankei Shimbun carried a false report that in March a security man of Hungnam Port, the DPRK, got on a ship of a southeast Asian country anchoring at the port and threatened its master to buy 100 kg of rice. In mid-July, it also alleged that the DPRK exported food it received from other country as assistance. The food in question was 1,300 tons of Chinese-produced maize carried to Japan via the DPRK by a contract with a Japanese stock breeder. We have never thought that the Sankei Shimbun, which has long engaged in anti-DPRK propaganda, would say something in favor of the DPRK. We have already spat at the daily with no sense of justice and impartiality. The world food programme and other international organizations and donator nations have rendered humanitarian assistance with sincerity to our people, who have been suffering food shortage caused by floods. However, the Sankei Shimbun, far from sympathizing with our people in hard time, slandered our country with the false reports. It is really an inhuman, despicable act of those, with no elementary ethics and morality, tryinging to insult our people and obstruct international humanitarian activities. The Sankei Shimbun's persistent anti-DPRK propoaganda has only shown its immorality to the international community and has become a target of world public condemnation.

Sankei Shimbun, plot-breeding newspaper

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Japanese Sankei Shimbun, on June 28, alleged that the DPRK has three dollar counterfeiting plants and has circulated tens of billions of dollars by massprinting fake dollars. The groundless allegation was carried by the south Korean newspaper Donga Ilbo next day. The Sankei Shimbun's false report was only aimed at slandering the DPRK and hurting its international prestige. We can never allow the Sankei Shimbun to maliciously abusing the DPRK. The false report is what the south Korean Agency for National Security Planning invented in conspiracy with the Japanese newspaper. The Sankei Shimbun, in the hope of giving authenticity to the fiction, quoted testimonies of those who defected to south Korea from the north after committing crimes. But the sources are too despicable and poor fellows. It is nobody's secret that the defectors can only say as told by the ANSP. From this point of view, we can see how faithful the Sankei Shimbun is to the ANSP. Counterfeit notes and goods are things available in such corrupt society governed by jungle law as Japan and south Korea. Such things are unimaginable in our socialist society replete with justice and benevolence, society where the people are the masters of the country and constitute a great harmonious family. We have no such plants as the Phyongsong trademark plant, the February Wonbit Trading Company and the liaison office No. 101 which the Sankei Shimbun described as dollar counterfeiting plants. Obviously, they are bogus plants, brainchilds of the ANSP. It is south Korea that tops the world's list of counterfeit and forgery. It is an undeniable fact that south Korea's is a puppet regime faked up by the United States and Kim Young Sam could become its president with lies and through fraudulent elections. South Korea is the kingdom of forgery which is inundated by counterfeit money, advertisements, drugs, foodstuff, etc. Dollar counterfeiting plants and fake notes are what can be seen in such society as south Korea. The Sankei Shimbun, oblivious of the duty and mission of the press, has nothing to get but miserable end. The plot-breeding newspaper had better surrender itself to justice.

Seminars mark death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung abroad

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Seminars on the imperishable revolutionary feats of President Kim Il Sung were held in Guyana, Italy, Pakistan, Yugoslavia, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Libya, Tunisia and Nicaragua to mark his third death anniversary. The Asian regional institute of the Juche idea sponsored a joint seminar on the cause of independence for mankind and the ideological and theoretical exploits of the President in New Delhi on July 6. A national seminar on the subject President Kim Il Sung is the leader of the people who devoted himself to their happiness under the motto 'the people are my god' was sponsored in Kathmandu, Nepal, by the Nepali National Committee for honoring the memory of the President on June 26. A national seminar was held in Uganda and seminars in Tanzania, Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago on the ideological and theoretical exploits of the President. The speakers at the seminars said that the Juche idea created by the President is the most precious treasure of the people. The undying revolutionary exploits performed by the President for the times and history will be a great motive force of the development of mankind along with the Juche idea, they added.

Given in the press is an account of events held abroad to commemorate the third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Rodong Sinmun carries news that the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea published a statement supporting the resolution on exalting the revolutionary life and immortal exploits of the President for all ages. The paper carries a statement of the Korean Student Committee denouncing the south Korean puppets for threatening to take a legal action from August 1 against leading members of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) who refuse to break with Hanchongryon. It in a commentary criticises the Kim Young Sam group for stepping up war preparations against the northern half of Korea. Pan-Korea rally adding lustre to history of national reunification movement is the title of a Rodong Sinmun article. The Japanese reactionaries' persistent moves to stage a comeback to Korea come under fire in the paper. The 45th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution of the Egyptian revolution was observed with due ceremony, says the paper. Rodong Sinmun carries an article captioned it is necessary to see through the dominationist nature of imperialism and Minju Joson an article headlined domination and plunder, invariable nature of imperialism.

Human derelicts must not mock people

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- People from all strata in south Korea saw Hwang Jang Yop's press interview, saying he is not a man at all, the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation said. A pressman Ri Mun Song said that when he saw Hwang's interview, he could know that Hwang was a senile lunatic. He continued: Hwang looked fearful though the press conference was taking place at a secret place of the Agency for National Security Planning (ANSP). His haggard figure reminded one of a drug addict. He faltered, unable to read the interview script written by the ANSP. His answer was incoherent. The senile figure of Hwang at the interview was just like the ugly appearance of Kim Young Sam, who is at the death's door. An opposition politician surnamed Jong said: the Hwang Jang Yop's interview prepared by the ANSP for two months was a poor work. They advertised the interview loudly, changing its date. But there was no word to hear. All were trite anti-communist remarks of the ANSP. Indeed, it is base and foolish. I think the time has come for Kim Young Sam to die. He is trying to save the crisis by using a dirty human waste and a living corpse Hwang, forsaken and condemned as a common enemy of the nation, he added. With those left intact, there will be nothing but misfortune for the nation. All of them must be sent to the graveyard without delay. Ri Jong Ja, a housewife residing in Mokdong, Seoul, said: Hwang is not a man at all. He is a human waste who has not an iota of ethnics and morality and conscience. His words are all cries of a crow. It is pitiful for Kim Young Sam and the ANSP to try to gain anything by making him appear at television. The human wastes must not mock the people but disappear.

Korean-Cuban basketball game

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A friendly game between Korean and Cuban national women's basketball squads took place at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Monday. The tall Cuban cagers played a middle- and short-distance assault game while tightening boundery defence. Korean players combined stubborn person-to-person defence with fast and long-distance attack to persistently set back their opponents' tactical attempt and increase points. In the game Korea beat Cuba 100-83. Appreciating the game were Kye Ung Thae, Choe Thae Bok and other senior officials, citizens, fans and Cuban Ambassador to Korea Jose Ramon Rodriguez Varona and his Embassy officials. Earlier, the Cuban team had games respectively with the Korean National Women's Basketball Squad and the Korean Youth Women's Basketball Team. The Korean teams won the games 83-78 and 102-76.

Undisguised declaration of comeback to Korea

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Of late a high-ranking official of the Japan Liberal Democratic Party said the emergency programme in the review of the Japan-U.S. defence cooperation guidelines is aimed at the Korean Peninsula. Rodong Sinmun today, commenting on his remarks, says the emergency around Japan means reinvasion of Korea and the guidelines are a scenario for carrying it into practice. The news analyst goes on: The Japanese reactionaries are stepping up their aggressive manoeuvrings. Now the Japanese reactionaries, hell-bent on anti-DPRK war preparations in league with the U.S., are trying to test their military strength on the Korean Peninsula under the pretext of assistance to the U.S. in the event of contingency. They seek in this to stage a comeback to Korea and to invade other areas of Asia. We cannot remain a passive onlooker to their militarist manoeuvrings. If they take or join in an action against Korea, the Korean people will deal a thousandfold retaliatory blow at them. They should stop acting rashly.

Anniversary of Egypt's July 23 Revolution marked

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held here on Monday to mark the 45th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, national holiday of the Egyptian people. Choe Ki Ryong, Chairman of the State Education Commission who is also Chairman of the Korea-Egypt Friendship Association, spoke at the meeting. He noted that Egypt, following the external policy based on nonalignment and peace, has been working hard to develop relations with Arab nations and seek a peaceful solution of the Mid-East problem. We are sincerely rejoiced as over our own over the achievements made by the Egyptian people in the worthwhile struggle for building a new life under the leadership of esteemed President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, he said, and expressed full support to and solidarity with their efforts for unity with other Arab countries and for Mid-East peace. He declared that the Korean people will further expand and develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the Egyptian people in the ideas of independence, peace and friendship. Egyptian Ambassador to Korea Mohamed Amin Mohamed Gabr said Egypt and Korea have made a positive and constructive development in different relations such as foreign policy and cooperation in regional and international bodies. Egypt has supported the independent policies President Kim Il Sung and Secretary Kim Jong Il advanced to defend sovereignty and independence and achieve the national reunification of Korea, adhering to the Juche idea and the socialist revolutionary banner, the Ambassador stressed. Referring to the strengthened mutual support and cooperation in culture and the economy between the two countries, he expressed belief that the Korean people, under the wise guidance of Secretary Kim Jong Il, will overcome the temporary difficulties and emerge victorious in the struggle for the socialist revolution of Juche and for national reunification on the Korean Peninsula. A congratulatory letter to the Egyptian President was adopted at the meeting.

Rodong Sinmun on provocative remarks of s. Korean war maniacs

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The south Korean war maniacs, far from drawing a serious lesson from the severe blow they sustained after their armed provocation against the north along the Military Demarcation Line, are making provocative remarks getting on the nerves of the north and aggravating the tensions. Commenting on this fact, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says: When he met Powell, Former Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the United States on July 19, Kim Young Sam prattled about completion of war preparations in the north and begged for the maintenance of full defence preparedness between south Korea and the U.S. troops. The south Korean puppets vociferated about possible terrorist act by the north and held a war confab on anti-submarine operations. The puppets are staging war exercises in the area of Seoul under the signboard of defence training in the wake of a comprehensive tactical training of commandoes in areas of Mt. Thaebaek. These ill-boding military rackets prove that the threat of aggression on the Korean Peninsula comes from the south to the north. They also show to what extent the south Korean war maniacs have gone in their war preparations. Defence and security on the lips of the south Korean puppets are precisely slogans for provoking war against the north. Provokers are bound to meet with a severe retaliation. There is no mercy in war.

Solidarity with Korean people expressed

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Romania and India, a photo exhibition and a film show in Madagascar and Togo, a symposium in Zimbabwe and a round-table talk in Guyana from June 21 to July 11 during the month of international solidarity with the Korean people. The speakers at the meetings said that the Korean people and the Korean People's Army (KPA) displayed matchless mass heroism, repulsed the invasion of U.S. imperialism and won a historic victory under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung. Saying that the President performed immortal exploits for the peaceful reunification of Korea, they noted that his plan for national reunification is being brilliantly put into practice by Secretary Kim Jong Il. The KPA has been strengthened into an invincible army under the wise leadership of the Supreme Commander, Secretary Kim Jong Il, they said, and added that the Korean people would unfailingly achieve national reunification. Great upswing in socialist construction called for

We should make a general charge for new victories on all fronts of socialist construction, singing the march of national prosperity in firm unity around Secretary Kim Jong Il. In order to effect a great upswing in socialist construction under the leadership of the WPK it is necessary, above all, to increase the politico-ideological strength of the Korean revolution in every way. What is basic to increasing the potentials of the country is singlehearted unity. We should more firmly strengthen the harmonious whole of the Party, army and people united around Secretary Kim Jong Il. S. Korean defector welcomed by Pyongyangites

He was awarded an order of the DPRK and a money prize and presented with a souvenir at a meeting. American visitors leave

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Sam Nunn, Former Chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, and James Laney, Former U.S. Ambassador to south Korea, and their party left here today by a U.S. Government plane after a three-day visit to Korea. They were seen off at the airport by Kim Kye Gwan, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.

Despicable drama

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation broadcast a commentary titled clumsy drama today. The radio said: The traitors of the south Korean Agency for National Security Planning (ANSP) have spread the rumor that the north sent terrorists to Seoul to kill Hwang Jang Yop. Like Hwang's recent press conference, the drama, played by the headquarters of anti-north plots with the mobilization of all schemers, is so despicable that it deserves world public ridicule and condemnation. It is nonsense that the north is trying to assassinate Hwang. The north has already stricken his name off the list of the nation, the list of human beings because he is a lunatic who defected from the homeland where he, though he is a son of a landlord, was given an opportunity to study abroad and worked as Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee. The north feels it unnecessary to devote efforts to killing Hwang, who is almost dead body in view of his crimes against the country and the nation and in view of ethics and morality. If the north had intention to assassinate him, it would have done so in Beijing or the Philippines. But the north let the coward go his own way, feeling relieved. In other words, garbage was cleared from the room. Then, can there be any reason for the north to do such a thing now as assassinating Hwang, who has been confined in a remote place of the ANSP under strict cordon? From this point of view, the rumor is only a fiction without any authenticity and an advance arrangement by the plot-breeding tool for playing a drama. It is not the north but Kim Young Sam and the ANSP that are troubling themselves over Hwang's defection. When Hwang was brought to Seoul, Kim Young Sam and the ANSP were very happy as if they won a big thing. But they have been eventually disappointed, finding that they have nothing to get from the lunatic's thoughtless words. As all our people watched, Hwang, after being trained in confinement by the ANSP for more than two months, appeared at a press conference, but read with halting articulation even what was written by others and incoherently answered questions, making a show of himself. And his remarks were full of contradictions so that his press conference itself did more harm than good and resulted in fueling public distrust in the ANSP. Worse still, Hwang is suffering from persecution mania, feeling bored with a solitary and lonely life at a ANSP place and also feeling headache over the crimes he committed against the nation. He is now in a miserable condition. This is why the ANSP, thinking that if it keeps Hwang alive, it will be frowned at and finally have to treat with the dead body, intends to kill him and use his death in the anti-north propaganda by describing it as a making of the north. The fiction about the dispatch of the north's agents and terrorists to Seoul is part of this scheme. The ANSP, in the hope of making the fiction sound real, had an alert order issued to the police throughout south Korea. But this drama is not worth notice. They invented such fictions of terrorism and infiltration of terrorists in the August 15 shooting incident and the 88 Olympiad. It is also south Korea that kidnapped Kim Dae Jung in Tokyo and had loudly advertized it as a making of the north until it was left with no other choice but setting him free in Seoul. All the rumors about the north's terrorism spread by the ANSP ended with our people knowing that they were its own making. Hwang will be killed soon by the ANSP. Our people are now seeing a bullet the ANSP is firing. Hwang's press conference was the first act and his assassination will be the second act. The rumor about the dispatch of the north's terrorists to Seoul is just a prelude to the second act. With such a clumsy drama, however, can they never fool our people. Kim Young Sam, in the grip of a serious crisis, and the ANSP are escalating the anti-north smear campaign in a bid to find a way out. But our people are totally disillusioned with the smear campaign and bitterly condemn them. History shows well that the end of those engaging in the anti-north plots has always been miserable and disgraceful. History makes no exceptions to Kim Young Sam and the ANSP.
