"Song of General Kim Jong Il" disseminated abroad

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Jong Il" is widely disseminated in different countries. The revolutionary people on the five continents over the world including India, Egypt, Uganda and Madagascar are singing the song in praise of the peerless great man, saying that the song is a "revolutionary hymn for genuine socialism in the present era", "banner supporting the world progressive people in struggle" and "weapon encouraging humankind to the struggle for independence". Chairman of the Central Control Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) S. Mukherjee in a press interview said that birth of the song is a historic event which is of weighty significance in light of the current situation in which the imperialists are stepping up the anti-socialist moves in the international arena. The name of Secretary Kim Jong Il is a symbol of the struggle for justice, peace and socialism, he added. The Kampala Art Troupe of Uganda learned the song and decided to sing the song as the first number of every performance. The state radio and radio RTV of Madagascar broadcast the song at the golden hour.

"Comrade Kim Il Sung at mudanjiang" published in China

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- A book "Comrade Kim Il Sung at mudanjiang" was published by the Korean National Publishing House in Heilongjiang Province in China to mark the third anniversary of the death of President Kim Il Sung. In the preface the book says that the President performed great heroic feats in the bloody struggle and created moving stories of friendship and unity between the Korean and Chinese fighters, adding that the people of mudanjiang can never forget the President who made great contributions to their liberation and happiness. The publication of the book is aimed at paying tribute to his memory and handing down his exploits for all ages, it is said in the preface. The book describes the historic facts that the President advanced into the mudanjiang area in North Manchuria at the head of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army during the first and second expeditions to North Manchuria and conducted joint operations with Chinese anti-Japanese armed units. The book shows the greatness of the President who was endowed with extraordinary military wisdom, scientific clairvoyance, outstanding commanding art and noble popular traits. It reflects the ardent respect and reverence of the Chinese people for the President who created the Korea-China friendship through the joint struggle against Japanese imperialism.

Congratulatory letter to Secy. Kim Jong Il from military attaches' corps

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) - Secretary Kim Jong Il received a congratulatory letter from the military attaches' corps in Korea on the 44th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. Cuban Military Attache Arnaldo Fernandez Rodriguez, doyen of the corps, handed the letter over to an official concerned on Friday. He said that on the anniversary they wish Secretary Kim Jong Il, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, a long life in good health and greater success in leading the Korean revolution to victory. Rodong Sinmun on fascist suppression of students in s. Korea

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today comes out with a signed commentary on the Kim Young Sam group's frantic campaign to stifle the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon). Recalling that the fascist clique arrested student Jong Myong Gi, Chairman of the fourth-term "Hanchongryon", on charges of violating the notorious "National Security Law" on July 22, the analyst says: The Kim Young Sam group's frantic suppression of "Hanchongryon" including the arrest of its Chairman Kang Wi Won is an unpardonable illegal gangsterism and a traitorous act going against independence, democracy and reunification, the cherished desire of the south Korean people. What they seek in this frantic suppression is to destroy "Hanchongryon" by removing all its hardcore members. Their move to stifle the organisation cannot be pardoned under any circumstances. Struggle of Korean people for reunification favored

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Organizations of different countries released statements expressing solidarity with the Korean people in the struggle for national reunification during the month of international solidarity with the Korean people. The Swiss Committee for support to the reunification of Korea in its statement on July 15 supported the proposal for foundation of the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo advanced by President Kim Il Sung. The Australia-DPRK Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange in its statement on July 8 urged the U.S. to withdraw its troops from south Korea and to stop the anti-DPRK manoeuvres at once. The Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association in its statement on July 14 reaffirmed that independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity agreed on between the north and south are basic principles for the reunification of Korea and that the confederacy formula is the only way for the reunification. It called upon all the political parties and public organizations and figures to give full support to them. The National Youth Council of Ghana and the Ghana-DPRK Friendship Association in their statements on July 16 demanded that the south Korean authorities abandon the attitude of dependence on outside forces against the reunification.

Anti-DPRK scheme revealed

S. Korea plans to import missiles from Israel

Japanese right-wingers denounced for trying to revive militarism

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today denounces the Japanese right-wingers for their recent undisguised moves to whitewash the history of aggression and revive militarism. Koichi Tsukamoto, Chief of the Japanese Right-Wing Japan Council, and other right-wingers called for the Prime Minister's visit to Yasukuni Shrine and removal from the history book of the content concerning the "Comfort Women for the Army," the article says, and goes on: They seek in this to imbue the Japanese people with militarism, model the whole society on this idea and round off the ideological preparations for overseas aggression. The undisguised, organised moves of the conservative politicians and right-wingers of Japan to whitewash the history of aggression and revive militarism throughout Japan are indicative of the right-wing politics of Japan. The majority of those in power in Japan are conservatives, and the Japanese politics are manipulated by right-wingers. With those politicians who are crying for militarism and trying to revive "the empire of Japan" remaining in power, right-wing policies are unavoidable in Japan.

S. Korea's plot-breeding tool should be demolished

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The institute of national reunification issued a memorandum on Friday accusing the south Korean "Agency for National Security Planning" (ANSP) of standing in the way of democracy and reunification, further deteriorating inter-Korean relations and rendering the situation of the Korean Peninsula all the more strained. Noting that the "ANSP" is general headquarters of intelligence activities and suppression, the memorandum provided materials showing its plots against the south Korean patriotic champions of reunification. It said: From 1979 to 1982, it fabricated 28 large-scale "spyring cases" in a bid to stifle patriotic-minded people desirous of the country's reunification. Those arrested by the "ANSP" on charge of being "spies" numbered 103 in 1993, 389 in 1994 and 455 in 1996. Very serious is the effect of its wrongdoings on inter-Korean dialogue. The "ANSP" deprived the "secretariat of north-south dialogue" and "national unification board" of their role in dialogue. It, poking its nose into dialogue, laid obstacles to discussion and hampered its progress. It has also strictly controlled non-governmental contacts with the north. Meanwhile, the "ANSP" has engaged in intelligence, sabotage and subversive activities against the north. It already brought disgrace upon itself when the truth behind its-faked-up "airliner explosion case", "south Korea's Workers' Party of Korea case", "armed spy case", etc. were disclosed. The plot-breeding tool has used every conceivable means such as radio wave, publication, videotape and commodity for the purpose of disintegratting the north ideologically from within and confusing its people. It has installed joint-venture businesses, companies, business offices, cultural exchange centres, religionist organizations, etc, in surrounding countries and, through them, tried to gather information about the north's political, economic, military, social, cultural and all other domains and public feelings. Active in the south Korean organs abroad are sections of "ANSP" men in charge of kidnapping and defection of those from the north. The "ANSP" also sends its agents to the north with tourists, relative-visiting groups and delegations so that they can spy on our Party, state and military secrets, assassinate high-ranking officials, create disturbance in the mind of the people, proliferate corrupt bourgeois culture and even conduct missionary activities. Worse still, it brings defectors and renegades from the north to the south and use them in confrontation and smear campaign against the fellow countrymen in the north. The "ANSP" is the kingdom of the most cruel fascism and suppression, general headquarters of the most despicable plots and crimes and the disgusting pronoun of division, confrontation, war, destruction and all other injustice and evils.

Papers mark Cuba's July 26 armed uprising anniversary

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Newspapers here today dedicate by-lined articles to the 44th anniversary of the Cuban People's July 26 Armed Uprising. The Cuban revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro carried out an attack on Moncada barracks on July 26, 1953, and it was a historic event which called upon the Cuban people suffering from tyranny of the imperialists and their stooges to take arms and rise up in the struggle for freedom and liberation, Rodong Sinmun notes, and says: The imperialists had ceaselessly made aggression and subversive manoeuvrings to stifle the Cuban revolution from the very day of its victory. Events holding noteworthy places in world history of war

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- July 27 is the day when the Korean people won in the past Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953). In the war, the officers and men of the Korean People's Army created war methods without an equal in the world history of war by highly displaying intense devotion and mass heroism. Three days after the war broke out, they occupied Seoul, the stronghold of the enemy, through an active counterattack. This was a new miracle. It is recorded in the world history of war that when one side made a surprise attack, the other side yielded to it or went over to a counterattack after experiencing pains for some time. At dawn on July 2, 1950, four torpedo boats of the second torpedo-boat fleet of the KPA navy attacked the 17,000-ton heavy cruiser baltimore, a 12,000-ton light cruiser and a 3,000-ton destroyer of the U.S. navy in the East Sea off Jumunjin and thus sank or destroyed them. In the Taejon-liberating battle which took place between July 18 and 20, 1950, KPA servicemen encircled and completely destroyed the U.S. 24th infantry division by employing superb war methods including frontal and flank strikes based on proper coordination of all units and dispatch of some units behind enemy lines. This is a brilliant example of modern siege warfare. The 18th infantry regiment of the KPA marched more than 40 kilometres overnight with heavy loads on their backs and intercepted enemy's retreat. The defenders of Wolmi islet frustrated the attempt of the U.S. landing group composed of several hundred warships, 1,000-odd planes and over 50,000-strong men for three days from September 13 to 15, 1950 with only four artillery pieces. This struck a terror into the hearts of the enemy. Besides, KPA servicemen created unique war methods without an equal in the world history of war such as disturbing the enemy's rear through cooperation between combined units and guerrillas and conducting an active positional defence with the help of durable pits. By doing so, they dealt a telling blow at the U.S. imperialists, their satellites and the south Korean puppets.

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Hong Song Nam, acting Premier of the Administration Council of the DPRK, sent a telegram of sympathy to Premier Vaclav Klaus as regards heavy losses of life and property caused by the recent flood in the Czech Republic. In the telegram Hong hoped that the Czech people would heal the flood damage and stabilize the life of inhabitants in flood-hit areas as soon as possible.
