Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) - "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction", a famous work of Secretary Kim Jong Il, was published in booklet by the Italian Committee for Reunification and Peace of Korea on July 16.

Leaflets praising Secy. Kim Jong Il scattered in s. Korea

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- More than 200 copies of leaflets praising Secretary Kim Jong Il were scattered in the area of Jinyongup, Kimhae city, on July 20 according to radio Voice of National Salvation from Seoul quoting information of the South Kyongsang Provincial Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea. Written in the front of the leaflet in the name of the February 16 Comradeship Society with a grand Mt. Paektu for a background were the words stressing that Secretary Kim Jong Il is a great sun indicating the tomorrow of a reunified country. Also written in the reverse of the leaflet against blossoming Kimjongilia were the words of the song "General of Reunification" with a musical note created by the Polestar Meari Band.

Defense of "Hanchongryon" called for

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Members of the fellow students society of Seoul National University for defending the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) made public an article to one million students and people in south Korea on July 30, according to a report. The article said in part: Some pseudo student activists, abusing the name of the General Student Council of Seoul National University, called for "Hanchongryon's" withdrawal from the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon), the dissolution of Pomchonghakryon and the designation of all the executive members of "Hanchongryon". Their unpardonable allegation is a product of the vicious and craft moves of Kim Young Sam and the plot-breeding "Agency for National Security Planning" to disable "Hanchongryon" and Pomchonghakryon, the vanguards of reunification, and stamp out the patriotic student movement. No matter how desperately Kim Young Sam and the "ANSP", the group of traitors, and their stooges may try, "Hanchongryon", the invincible patriotic rank, will be alive and well and Pomchonghakryon, the loving stalwart of champions of reunification in the north, south and abroad, will dynamically advance along its orbit as a locomotive of reunification, a pride of fellow countrymen.

Power struggle in s. Korea

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- A power struggle is getting fiercer in south Korea with "Presidential Election" slated for December. Ri Hoe Chang was nominated for candidacy by the "New Korea Party" through its national convention on July 21, Kim Dae Jung by the "National Congress for New Politics" and Kim Jong Pil by the "United Liberal Democrats". "NKP" advisors Ri Su Song and Ri Han Dong, who failed to win candidacy, separately met and discussed the situation before the election with Kim Jong Pil, ignoring Kim Young Sam and Ri Hoe Chang. Emergency meeting of KSC, Pomchonghakryon north headquarters

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- The Korean Student Committee and the north headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) held an emergency enlarged meeting here on Saturday to discuss coping with the Kim Young Sam regime's suppression of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon). In a report KSC Chairman Pak Myong Chol said the Kim Young Sam fascist clique of south Korea were intensifying reckless efforts to disorganize and stifle Hanchongryon and accused them of prosecuting nearly 500 leading members of Hanchongryon from August 1. The suppression of Hanchongryon shows that the dark era of the most reactionary and brutal rule has come in south Korea since Kim Young Sam took office. The reporter said the KSC and the Pomchonghakryon north headquarters bitterly condemned the Kim Young Sam regime's harsh suppression of Hanchongryon as its last-ditch effort to get out of the serious crisis and an unbearable challenge to the 70 million fellow countrymen's desire for independence, democracy and reunification. "We will fully discharge our responsibility and role, determined to remain on the side of the one million students of south Korea in the struggle for ousting the traitor Kim Young Sam, defending Hanchongryon and promoting the independent and peaceful reunification of the country," he declared. Speakers at the meeting bitterly denounced the Kim Young Sam regime for the suppression of Hanchongryon and voiced full support for its just cause. Letters to the UN commission on human rights and International youth and student organizations were adopted at the meeting. The letters said that if the suppression of Hanchongryon was not arrested in south Korea, a grave danger would be created not only in ensuring human rights and democracy in south Korea but in achieving democracy all over the world. They expressed the hope that the international bodies would exercise their authority and influence in checking the south Korean authorities' suppression of the student movement and defending Hanchongryon.

Foundation anniversary of April 15 writing group marked

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held on Saturday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the April 15 writing group Kim Ki Nam, Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Central Committee, conveyed a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the WPK to the writers and staff of the group at the meeting. The message said that the foundation of the group was an event of epochal significance in creating the revolutionary literature of Juche with the depiction of the leader as the core and carrying forward the revolution of literature and art. The writers of the group went a long way to inheriting and developing the WPK glorious traditions of the revolutionary literature by novelizing the immortal classic works created by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, it said. It highly praised the outstanding feats of the group in defending and implementing the WPK policy of building Juche-oriented literature with high loyalty to the Party and the leader. It expressed the firm belief that the group will live up to the deep trust and expectation of the Party by discharging its noble duty in single-hearted unity around Secretary Kim Jong Il. S. Korean war maniacs' reckless act

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppets announced on Friday that a "general check-up team for coping with war provocation" made its appearance and began to work. They also said the team would choose "five threat-posing things" of the north such as long-range guns and chemical weapons and make check-ups among the people. In a commentary Rodong Sinmun says the fact implies that the south Korean puppets, in a bid to make the "north's threat" sound real, will kick up another row among the people. In this way, they intend to foster confrontation and antagonism within the nation and chill the people's desire for reunification which is likely to grow stronger around August 15, the anniversary of national liberation. By the "general check-up for coping with war provocation" the puppets mean an "overall examination" of anti-north war preparations. We cannot overlook the south Korean war maniacs' reckless moves. They must stop running wild and act with discretion. If they persistently seek a war against the north, they will be held fully responsible for all its consequences and will have to pay dearly for them.

Suppression of Hanchongryon must be discontinued

Those who are hereticating and suppressing Hanchongryon deserve condemnation from the nation. When the Kim Young Sam regime is overthrown by the people, we will make the puppets who ordered the crackdown on Hanchongryon and those involved in the suppression pay dearly for what they did. The south Korean people including pro-democracy dissidents must never allow Kim Young Sam to victimize their sons and daughters belonging to Hanchongryon for the maintenance and prolongation of the traitorous regime and oust him with concerted efforts.
