Secy. Kim Jong Il's work supported
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Pyong Sik, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, made public a statement on August 23 supporting "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification", a celebrated work of Secretary Kim Jong Il.
He said:
"This work is a platform for national reunification which consummates the undying exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung for national reunification and which comprehensively indicates all the principled matters related to the reunification of the country. It is also an immortal encyclopedia which can be worked out only by Secretary Kim Jong Il who has inherited the Juche-based idea and line of the President on national reunification and his noble love for the country, the nation and the people.
"The Korean Social Democratic Party will firmly preserve the Juche character and national character in the solution of the question of national reunification, reject flunkeyism and the idea of dependence upon outside forces and resolutely adhere to the principle of national independence.
At the same time, it will carry through the policy of great national unity and thus make a great contribution to firmly building up the internal force of national reunification."
"We will further intensify the struggle to establish a unified nation-state based on confederation while removing obstacles lying in the way of national reunification and opening up a new epochal phase for the reunification of the country."
"Under the present circumstances of the north-south relations which have been pushed to a more tense and acute phase than ever, we will unsparingly strive to make the south Korean authorities follow the policy of shaping the destinies of the country and the people from the stand of national independence hand in hand with the fellow countrymen, replace their anti-north confrontation policy with the reconciliation policy of alliance with the north and abandon the dangerous war policy. Besides, we will make strenuous efforts to ease the political and military confrontation between the north and the south and democratize the social and political life in south Korea."
"In the work, the respected General said that if the south Korean authorities show an affirmative change in practice, the DPRK would meet with them any time to have an open-hearted negotiation on the destiny of the nation. Considering that this policy is of particular importance in improving the north-south relations, we maintain that the south Korean authorities should change their policy to correspond with this."
"As pointed out in the work, the United States, Japan and other countries concerned should respect the sovereignty of the Korean nation and its will for reunification and actively help in the solution of the question of Korea's reunification".
Ri In Mo visits the Statue of President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Ri In Mo, former war correspondent of the Korean People's Army, together with his family, visited the Statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill on August 23.
Ri In Mo has greeted his 80th birthday in the socialist motherland.
With grateful feelings to President Kim Il Sung and Secretary Kim Jong Il for their deep loving care and favour for him, he, together with his family, laid a floral basket before the statue and made a deep bow to the President.
"Ulji Focus Lens" war game under fire
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) released a statement on August 20 to berate the United States and the Kim Young Sam group for frantically staging the criminal "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military exercises, said the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation.
The "Ulji Focus Lens" now being frantically staged by the U.S. aggressors and the Kim Young Sam group clearly proves that they intend to dampen the desire of our people for peaceful reunification and start a war in the Korean Peninsula at any cost, the spokesman said, and continued:
The joint war game clearly shows that, against its verbal advertisement about "relaxation of tensions" and "peace" on the Korean Peninsula, the United States is seeking only the aggravation of tension and war.
At the same time, it reaffirms that Kim Young Sam's clamouring about "peace" is nothing but a false propaganda to conceal the war preparations against the north and they are a group of the most truculent war maniacs.
The United States must clearly look at the desire and will of our people for independent and peaceful reunification, stop the criminal "Ulji Focus Lens" at once and withdraw its troops from south Korea, deeply feeling their responsibility as the very one responsible for the division of the Korean Peninsula.
No matter how desperately Kim Young Sam, who is little different from a dead body, may try to find a way out in confrontation and war against the fellow countrymen, it will only lead to his self-destruction.
DPRK-Egypt agreement on promotion and protection of investment signed
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- An agreement on promotion and protection of investment was signed in Cairo on August 19 between the governments of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
It was signed on the DPRK side by the DPRK Ambassador to Egypt and on the opposite side by the Minister of State for Planning and International Cooperation.
Students sentenced to prison terms in s. Korea
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The puppet Seoul district court held a fascist trial for 28 students under the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) on August 21, according to a radio report from Seoul.
At the trial, the fascist clique sentenced 11 students to prison terms of up to one year and 6 months and 17 other students to prison terms of one year or one year and six months and two-year suspension of execution.
The fascist clique committed this outrage for the reason that they were involved in a demonstration related to the new-term inaugural ceremony of Hanchongryon.
On the same day, the fascist clique walked away 29 students of Hanchongryon who had been on a sit-in strike at the Jogye Temple.
The ever more intensified suppression aimed at disorganising Hanchongryon is inviting bitterer resentment and resistance from south Korean students and people.
Planned smear campaign against U.S.-resident Korean
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppets intend to suppress U.S.-resident Korean woman Kim Chung Ja, Director of the Jongum Tourist Agency, on the suspicion of helping the defection to the north of O Ik Je, permanent advisor to the "National Congress for New Politics", advisor to the national congress for independent and peaceful reunification and former leader of the central headquarters of Chondoism of south Korea, by instigating reactionary organisations of Koreans in the United States, according to a report.
Mobilized in the scheme are the "Society of Koreans in Los Angeles" and the "General Association of Koreans in Americas".
This is part of the intentional and premeditated moves of the south Korean puppets to set U.S.-resident Koreans against each other and disorganise them and incite anti-DPRK feelings among them.
This also fully shows that the south Korean puppets are feeling extremely uneasy about O Ik Je's defection to the north.
With no method of violence can the south Korean puppets prevent the feelings of the overseas Koreans from following the DPRK.
They must clearly know that they will sustain heavier blows unless they stop at once their scheme to divide and estrange overseas Koreans.
Japan urged to stop discriminatory policy against Japan-resident Koreans
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The delegate of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers made a speech on the fourth agenda item of the 49th session of the U.N. Sub-Commission on prevention of discrmination and protection of minorities held in Geneva on August 12.
The delegate who is also from the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan said that the 700,000 Korean residents in Japan, victims to Japan's colonial rule, could not enjoy equal social, economic and cultural rights with the Japanese people.
He further said:
There are more than 140 Korean schools in Japan, but they have no equal legal position with other Japanese schools.
Graduates from Korean schools are not allowed to enter Japanese universities. Korean schools are excluded from the preferential measure related to taxes. Gangster-like acts of tearing down Korean national costumes at random are being committed in a systematic way in Japan.
The Ministry of Education of Japan urges Korean students in Japan to enter Japanese schools. Such a discriminatory step is aimed at assimilating Koreans to Japanese.
It is a continuation of the policy pursued by Japan to obliterate the Korean nation during the colonial rule.
He demanded that the U.N. high commissioner on human rights look into such on-goings and give a relevant advice to the Japanese Government.
Paper observes anniversary of NDFSK
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- August 25 this year marks the 28th anniversary of the foundation of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK), a patriotic vanguard of the south Korean people.
The south Korean revolutionaries founded the revolutionary party for reunification (former self of the NDFSK) on August 25, 1969. After the heroic Kwangju Popular Uprising, they renamed the party National Democratic Front of South Korea and announced a new platform and fighting goal of the vanguard of the masses on July 27, 1985 to meet the requirements of the development of the party and the situation when independence against foreign forces was put to the fore.
Minju Joson today dedicates an article titled "NDFSK's cause of justice is invincible" to this anniversary.
The author of the article says:
The NDFSK has made all efforts to establish monolithic ideology and leadership, taking the modelling of its ranks on the Juche idea as the key point in the construction of its organisations.
In the course of this, NDFSK members have established the firm Juche outlook on the leader and strengthened their unity based on the Juche idea and the NDFSK has grown into an invincible revolutionary vanguard like an organism with well-regulated organisational and ideological systems.
The NDFSK has made its way into the masses of all walks of life and conducted energetic activities to awaken and organise them, as demanded by the Juche idea.
It has made positive external activities to increase the ranks of supporters and sympathizers in the international arena. As a result, it has opened its missions abroad such as Cuba, Vietnam, Syria and Japan, established official relations with more than 100 foreign parties and organisations and grown to be a powerful militant organisation supported by many international bodies.
The NDFSK has conducted these activities in the teeth of harsh suppression by the successive rulers of south Korea.
The achievements and exploits the NDFSK has performed to discharge its mission and duty for the country and the nation for 28 years under difficult and arduous circumstances will be everlasting in history.
S. Korea where treachery tries patriotism
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam regime sentenced 28 students to imprisonment at the puppet Seoul district court on August 21 for the mere reason that they had taken part in the new-term ceremony of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon).
In another development, 29 Hanchongryon students were walked away while going home from their sit-in strike in the Jogye Temple after the puppets promised to "guarantee their safe return home."
Rodong Sinmun today brand these outrages as part of the anti-Hanchongryon operations and a desperate fascist rampage to obliterate the patriotic student movement.
The news analyst says:
The Kim Young Sam regime cracked down on the peaceful events of students with violence, causing misfortunes. So, Kim Young Sam and the "Agency for National Security Planning" are offenders and Hanchongryon is the victim.
It is not Hanchongryon but the Kim Young Sam fascist regime that must be tried by history and dissolved in south Korea. It is also the Kim Young Sam regime that must be jailed at once.
They are a group of archtraitors, fascist tyrants and enemies of peace and reunification who live off foreign forces with recourse to bayoneting, corruption and war racket against reunification.
Encyclopedia of President Kim Il Sung's leadership for reunification
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) - Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification" is described by Rodong Sinmun today as a typical example of the general's intense loyalty, filial piety and moral obligation to the President.
The author of the article says:
This work enables the Korean people to feel again that Secretary Kim Jong Il is the supreme incarnation of loyalty and filial duty to the president and that he has the noblest sense of moral obligation.
In the work, the general highly praised, systematized and consummated the President's immortal exploits for national reunification, which he said constitute a precious heritage for the Korean nation and a solid foundation for the reunification of the country.
This will be recorded as another great event in the history of the Korean people's loyalty, filial piety and moral sense of duty to the President and the history of inheritance of the President's revolutionary cause.
Thanks to Secretary Kim Jong Il, the history of the President's leadership for national reunification continues and will continue for ever.
Suppression of Hanchongryon under fire abroad
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Some 30 personages of Nepali political parties and organisations sent a letter to Kim Young Sam on August 15 in protest against the suppression of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon).
The personages included the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Nepal Worker-Peasant Party, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist League, the Chairman of the Nepalese Communist Party (United Centre), the Chairman of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung National Memorial Commission of Nepal, the Chairman of the Nepal World Human Rights Committee and the Chairman of the Nepal Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee.
The letter strongly denounced the continued inhuman and undemocratic scheme to destroy Hanchongryon, a legitimate and patriotic organisation, and arrest its members and called for an end to the brutal rule and guarantee for true democracy, human rights and peace in south Korea.
The letter said that if the Kim Young Sam regime truly wants peaceful reunification of the country, it must not suppress Hanchongryon but support the students' peaceful movement and make affirmative response to north Korea's line.
Seven organisations under the National Youth Council of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entertainment of Democratic Congo adopted a joint resolution on August 15, asking the Government of Democratic Congo to exercise influence on the south Korean authorities so that they should release the arrested south Korean students unconditionally and immediately.
