NDFSK vows to carry out instructions for reunification
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Hong Ji Yong, Vice-Chairman of the C.C., the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK), made public a statement Wednesday as regards Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification", it was reported by Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation.

It further said:
The south Korean rulers should, though belatedly, turn to national independence, reconciliation and unity, renouncing the policy of dependence on outsiders and the north-south confrontation policy. And they should abrogate the "National Security Law", the biggest obstacle to national reunification, and stop the repression of pro-reunification patriots at once.
The United States, Japan and other countries concerned should not instigate the south Korean rulers to confrontation between the fellow countrymen and fascist suppression, clearly seeing the Korean people's will for national independence and reunification.
The NDFSK will make a general march to win the great unity of the whole nation on the principle of national independence and achieve the reunification of the country based on a confederacy formula, upholding the great reunification programme set forth in the celebrated work.
DPRK's withdrawal from "international convention" is legitimate step
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The United States, France and other western countries adopted an anti-DPRK "resolution on human rights" in defiance of the DPRK's strong opposition at the 49th meeting of the United Nations sub-commission on human rights now being held in Geneva, according to a news report.
The "resolution" urges the DPRK to respect the international human rights standards and immediately submit a report on the implementation of the "international convention" on citizens' political rights and also recommends the international community to pay deeper attention to the DPRK's situation of human rights.
The unreasonable "resolution", which came when the United States and the south Korean puppets were escalating military threat to the DPRK, shows that the dishonest forces' anti-DPRK plots have reached a very dangerous stage.
It is an unbearable violation of the DPRK's dignity and rights to independence and an intolerable challenge and interference in its internal affairs.
In this regard, the DPRK Foreign Minister sent a letter the UN Secretary-General notifying him that the DPRK Government decided to withdraw from the "international convention" on August 23. The withdrawal is a just, self-defensive step over which nobody can slander the DPRK.
It is only too natural that the DPRK, which regards independence as its life and soul, withdrew from the "international convention", which has reduced to a tool serving the dishonest forces in putting political pressure on independent nations, far from its mission of ensuring human rights of all countries. The withdrawal enables the DPRK to ensure human rights more satisfactorily in the country, not bound by the international legal requirements and formalities concerning the activities under the "convention".
We have provided our people with genuine freedom and rights on a level far higher than the requirements of the "international convention". Doing so is the basic principles of activities maintained by our socialist system, which values man more than any other things.
In this point of view, the "resolution" reveals the persistent anti-socialist, anti-DPRK campaign by the western imperialists. But, foolish is their attempt to block the advance of the DPRK with such a "resolution".
Their campaign only vindicates the validity of socialism and harden our people's will to defend their socialism.
No matter how others may raise outcries over the withdrawal from the "international convention", we will continue going our own way, smashing the dishonest forces' anti-DPRK moves.
We warn that if the dishonest forces continue hurting our sovereignty by abusing other "conventions" under the pretext of human rights, we will also withdraw from them.

Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the April 25 House of Culture today to mark the 70th anniversary of the Young Communist League of Korea (YCLK) organised and led by President Kim Il Sung.
It was attended by Pak Song Chol, Jo Myong Rok, Yang Hyong Sop, Choe Thae Bok and other senior party and state officials and youth and students in the city.
Choe Ryong Hae, First Secretary of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League Central Committee, made a report at the meeting.
The reporter said:
The YCLK under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung played a pivotal and fundamental role in promoting the organisational unity of young people, strengthening the driving force of the Korean revolution and founding new-type party organisations.
Under the wise leadership of Secretary Kim Jong Il, the Korean youth movement is in the prime of development.
Secretary Kim Jong Il, who regards the youth affairs as the most important of state affairs, has always put his heart and soul into strengthening the youth league as the one of President Kim Il Sung.
Secretary Kim Jong Il proclaimed the birth of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League. This was a great political event of great historic importance in the inheritance of the Juche revolution and the development of the youth movement.
The young people of Korea trust and follow only Secretary Kim Jong Il in any storm and stress and live and fight as intended and wished by him.
They are staunchly taking the line of socialism, holding the red flag of revolution high under the leadership of Secretary Kim Jong Il without any vacillation, although socialism is undergoing trials in the international arena and the imperialist campaign against socialism and the DPRK is getting more intensive.
The Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League should be strengthened as the youth league of President Kim Il Sung and Secretary Kim Jong Il.
All the youth league officials and young people should be faithful guards and suicide squads of Secretary Kim Jong Il, true to the pledge they made before the bier of the President and to the pledge of loyalty they made before the General.
