A few days ago, the fascist clique killed Former Director Kim Jun Bae of the Struggle Department of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils. Earlier, they called out more than 2,000 policemen to suppress the unionists of the Changwon Thongil Heavy Industries Company in a strike and arrested some 50 protesters. The Kim Young Sam regime's murder of a righteous youth who took the lead in the movement for independence, democracy and reunification and brutal suppression of innocent workers calling for freedom and right to existence prove that they are a herd of blood-thirsty beasts, the commentary says, and goes on: The atrocity of the Kim Young Sam regime hell-bent on the suppression of the people is the last ditch effort of those doomed to ruin. Is "Japanese press association prize" for false report?

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- It has been said that the Japanese Sankei Shimbun's report about "suspected kidnapping of a Japanese girl by a north Korean agent" would shortly beawarded the " Japanese press association prize ". It is natural that special news items representing justice and truth are honored with proper prizes. But it is ridiculous that the "Japanese press association prize" would go to a false report. The Ssankei Sshimbun has long been stigmatized as venal newspaper and its pressmen have engaged in misleading public opinion, bribed by south Korea's "Agency for National Security Planning". It goes without saying that the "ANSP" and the Sankei Shimbun invented the fiction about "kidnapping" for the purpose of inciting anti-DPRK feelings among Japanese people. Conveying truth is the mission of the press and is the most important thing in their activities. If one engages in deception, he deserves denunciation as hack writer. As for the Sankei Shimbun, it has long served the "ANSP". Most of the Sankei Shimbun's news items about Korea are what were offered by the south Korean intelligence agency. From this point of view, the collusion between the "ANSP" and the Sankei Shimbun is very obvious. Many of the press organs have fully discharged their honorable mission as mouthpiece of justice and truth. But some of them have engaged in injustice and falsity for their moment's profit. Rodong Sinmun carries messages of greetings Secretary Kim Jong Il received from foreign party and state leaders on the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. According to the paper, the Pakistani Government sent a large bouquet to the DPRK embassy in celebration of Korea's National Day. Papers report that the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Socialist Party of the Congo convened an extraordinary meeting and published a statement as regards the institution of Juche Era and the Day of Sun in Korea. Papers carry words of people in different countries in this regards. A joint meeting of the central committees of the north headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification and the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification was held to carry through the Juche-based lines and tasks of national reunification advanced by Secretary Kim Jong Il, say papers. Printed in Rodong Sinmun is an article on immortal revolutionary activities and feats of comrade Kim Jong Suk, an indomitable communist revolutionary fighter, who led people in the guerrilla zone to overcome difficulties and win victory in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Papers say the whole party, all the country and the entire people turn out in harvesting. Papers report that O Ik Je, Former Leader of the central headquarters of Chondoism of south Korea, toured various places in the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun carries a commentary denouncing the Kim Young Sam regime's brutal killing of the director of the Struggle Department of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils. Minju Joson comments on the anti-national acts of the Kim Young Sam regime to block the improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations. Rodong Sinmun runs an article stressing that the peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula is a fundamental guarantee for removal of war danger and for peace. Minju Joson carries an article titled "countries concerned should help the reunification of Korea from sincere stand". Rodong Sinmun informs the readers that the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was closed.

Anti-national behavior

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today comments on the Kim Young Sam regime's anti-national effort to put a brake on improvement of DPRK-Japan ties. Upset by the progress in DPRK-Japan relations, the Kim Young Sam regime is asking Japan to keep step with progress in inter-Korean relations. The news analyst says: Normalisation of DPRK-Japan ties is an issue of establishing and developing good-neighbourhood and friendship between the two countries and it has nothing to do with inter-Korean relations and dialogue. This issue is in the interest of the two peoples and will make a new contribution to peace and prosperity in Asia and the rest of the world. It also suits the trend of the present time toward peace and reconciliation. The despicable effort of the Kim Young Sam regime to impede this process can never be tolerated as it is an anti-national act going against the nation's desire and the trend of the times. Their last-ditch effort is of no use. If the Kim Young Sam regime continuously meddles in the issue of improved ties between the DPRK and Japan and tries to impede the process, it will face greater public protest and criticism at home and abroad.

Solidarity with DPRK expressed

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to support the reunification of Korea distributed a letter of solidarity with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the Chairman and all the participants in the first conference of ministers of culture of non-aligned countries which was held in Colombia. The letter noted that the southern part of the Korean Peninsula has been under United States political, economic and military control since 1945 and that the traditional culture has been obliterated there. But, the DPRK has continued to develop culture of people. The south Korean people have waged the struggle for withdrawal of over 40,000 U.S. imperialist aggression troops from south Korea and for the reunification with the north, the letter said. The letter called for strongly denouncing all kinds of aggressive acts against the DPRK and urged the international community to support the effort to overcome natural disasters in Korea.

Worldwide use of Juche Era called for

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The Union of Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Communist Workers' Party of Russia, the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and four other Russian political and public organisations released an appeal to the world progressives on September 15 in support of Juche Era now in use. The use of Juche Era with 1912 as the first year, a year when President Kim Il Sung, the greatest genius of the 20th century, a prominent international activist and the founder of the Juche idea, was born is a great event in history, the appeal says, and continues: "People of generations fighting for freedom and welfare of the working people will have a better knowledge of the significance of the event in world history with the passage of time, and they will be grateful to the Secretary Kim Jong Il, who saw that an opportune resolution reflecting the desire of the people and requirements of history was adopted."
