Withdrawal of U.S. forces from s. Korea is requirement of time

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- U.S. warhawks insist on the continued occupation of south Korea by the U.S. forces, according to reports. They allege that withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea is "premature" and it would upset the "balance of strength". They went the length of justifying the continued occupation of south Korea by the U.S. forces, exploding the theory of phased military reduction. This is an open challenge to our just demand for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea and a mockery of the unbiased public opinion of the world sympathizing with our position. Withdrawal of more than 40,000-strong U.S. forces from south Korea is a requirement of the times which brooks no further delay. A tense situation in which war may break out any moment has been created on the Korean Peninsula owing to the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea. The U.S. forces have staged frantic war exercises with the south Korean puppets against the north every year. Recently, they defiantly staged the foal eagle joint military manoeuvres, bringing the situation to the dangerous phase. No one can vouch that modern war which will plunge humankind into a holocaust will not break out on the Korean Peninsula. Twentytwo years ago, the 30th U.N. General Assembly Session adopted resolutions on the dissolution of the "U.N. Command" and withdrawal of all the foreign troops from south Korea, reflecting the desire of the entire Korean people and the world peaceloving people for a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. To implement the resolutions is a basic guarantee for preventing the danger of war and ensuring peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. It is an unavoidable historic responsibility of the united states to dissolve the "U.N. Command" and withdraw its troops from south Korea in accordance with the resolutions. While crying that withdrawal of foreign troops is essential for the settlement of disputes in other regions, however, the united states stubbornly refuses to drive its forces out of south Korea. With nothing can it justify its insistence. The U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea is a product of the Cold War era which had already ended. With the adoption of the agreement on nonaggression between the north and the south of Korea, the United States cannot justify its insistence on "deterrent to southward invasion". In addition, "four-way talks" for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula will soon open. Accordingly, the United States cannot justify its forces' occupation of south Korea with anything. Contacts and dialogues are now under way between the DPRK and the United States. In order to develop the contacts and dialogues into ones for dispelling mistrust and misunderstanding between the two countries and improving bilateral relations, above all, the U.S. forces must get out of south Korea. The solution to the Korean question is, in essence, withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea. Only when the United States withdraws its troops from south Korea, it will earn confidence from the Korean people and the world progressives. The U.S. must immediately withdraw its forces from south Korea in accordance with the requirements of the times.

O Ik Je meets religious leaders in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- O Ik Je, Permanent Advisor to the National Congress for New Politics, Advisor to the South Korean National Congress for Independent and Peaceful Reunification and former leader of the south Korean central headquarters of Chondoism, separately met chairmen of the central committee of the Korean Christian Federation, the central committee of the Korean Roman Catholics Association, the central committee of the Korean Buddhist Federation and other religious organisations. On the occasions they exchanged their views on religious activities in the north and the south, missionary work for the country's reunification, the supreme desire of the nation in particular, and a series of matters of concern. O Ik Je said the missionary work should be aimed at the country's reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, and contributed to building the reunified strong power.

Rodong Sinmun on war games in s. Korea

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The Kim Young Sam group are staging war exercises in the centre of Seoul almost every day. Commenting on this fact, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says: In the provocative war games, the Kim Young Sam seeks a criminal intention to merge from the crisis of ruin, divert elsewhere the attention of people at home and abroad and, furthermore, perfect the war preparations against the north. The analyst further says: Kim Young Sam, whose tenure will expire three months later, is a living corpse forsaken even by his associates. The Kim Young Sam fascist clique are more frantically cracking down upon the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils and other pro-reunification democratic forces with the mobilisation of riot police. But, the movement of patriotic students and people for independence, democracy and reunification has been further intensified. Worse still, the catastrophic crisis of the south Korean economy has further precipitated the ruin of Kim Young Sam. This is why the Kim Young Sam group are trying to find a way out of their crisis of ruin in provoking a war against the north. They must stop the adventurous war exercises against the north at once, mindful that if they unleash war, they will be annihilated.

First home-visiting group of Japanese-Korean women feted

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- A banquet was given at the Mokran House on November 25 in honor of the first home-visting group of Japanese women who live in the northern half of Korea, thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Present at the banquet were Secretary Kim Yong Sun and Department Director Kim Yang Gon of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, Chairman Song Ho Gyong of the DPRK-Japan Friendship Association and officials concerned. Kim Yong Sun, addressing the banquet, said General Kim Jong Il, who always pays deep attention to the work and life of the Japanese women in the northern half of Korea, made them visit their native places, taking into account their desire to meet with their families and relatives, and invited to the grand banquet even the Japanese women who will visit their hometowns in the future. This is his trust in and loving care for the Japanese women in the northern half of Korea, he said. For them to enjoy the loving care is the greatest honor and happiness, he said, and continued: As news media at home and abroad say, the home visit of the Japanese women in the northern half of Korea is the brilliant fruition of General Kim Jong Il's benevolent, all-embracing politics and it demonstrates the invincible vitality of the man-centered socialism of Korean style. With General Kim Jong Il elected as the Supreme leader of the party and the state, as the citizens of the DPRK the hometown visitors met with families and relatives in Japan and told them about the happy life, a product of his benevolent politics, and about desire they have long haboured and went back to their country. Sin Jong Ho, speaking on behalf of the hometown visitors, said: "The great General has showed great loving care for the Japanese women and believed in them as in Korean women. So the Japanese women always uphold him as their own father." She vowed to uphold, with pure and clean conscience, the General as the sun of socialist Korea and as her own father, together with her sons and daughters to the last moment of her life, true to instructions of the Generalissimo Kim Il Sung. Many hometown visitors said that while visiting hometowns, they keenly felt that parents are not called as parents for the mere reason that they gave birth to them and the land where they were born is not the country. They cannot live even a moment, without the embrace of the General and their genuine homeland is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, they said. They sang songs and recited impromptu poems carrying their pride and honor of living, upholding the general, and resolve to live and work under his guidance, deeply moving those present at the banquet. An art performance was given at the banquet.

Let us become the sunrays." Her words mirror her loyal resolve to exalt her patriotic life by upholding, with loyalty, the leader of the revolution who is just the country. Two years in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA)-- Grandson Zhang Yao and granddaughter Yue Zhi-Yun of Zhang Wei-Hua, a Chinese internationalist, published a lengthy article entitled "Recalling the life of two years in Pyongyang". It deals with the deep care and affection shown by the President Kim Il Sung and the General Kim Jong Il. In the article, the authors recalled that the President and the General saw to it that they could study in Korea and that they could live with a bright future. They said: The tender-hearted President brought them to Korea on the same day in 1992 so that they could study in Korea. When they studied in Korea, the president and the General showed them a deep loving care. It was on October 30, 1991 when the President had concern with their study in Korea. That day, he was very happy to hear that Zhang Jin-Quan, the father of Zhang Yao, and Zhang Jin-Iu, the mother of Yue Zhi-Yun, wanted their children to study Korean language. He took a measure for their study in Korea. After this, he said that they should be made to study at a university and be provided with a modernly-furnished house instead of a hostel. Deeply considerate of the warm love of the President for them, General Kim Jong Il saw to it that they could study in the university of international affairs and take lodgings in a good place. Under his loving care, on the very day when they arrived in Pyongyang, cadres greeted them at a airport and sat together with them for a dinner at Okryu Restaurant. On November 17, 1992, busy as he was, the General acquainted himself with their study and life and showed paternal affection for them. On November 30, the President called them and treated them like his own grandson and granddaughter. He called at their house on January 3, 1993 and summoned them on December 27 to enjoy the new year's day with them. The great love shown by the president for Zhang Wei-Hua and his descendants for more than half a century from the 1920s when he was in Fusong to the early 1990s has been invariably continued by General Kim Jong Il, the article stressed.

UN resolution on Korea should be fulfilled

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- Director M. M. Verma of the Indian Centre for the UN Studies published a statement on Nov. 19, 22 years after the resolution on Korea was adopted at the 30th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. He said: Today the UN strongly calls to account and puts sanctions against a country, which does not perform its decision. But it does not blaime for failing to implement its resolution on Korea adopted 22 years ago. And this is very regretful. However, the United States, defying the resolution, is increasing armed forces and staging one large scale joint military exercise after another in south Korea to strain the situation on the Korean Peninsula. It is high time the U.S. respected and fulfiled the U.N. resolution on Korea. The United Nations must take measure to fulfil its resolution on Korea at an early date.
