Kim Jong Suk's 80th birth anniversary commemorated
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- A lecture was given on November 26 under the sponsorship of the Liaoning Regional Association of the Federation of Korean Nationals in China to commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, a great communist revolutionary fighter.
Chairman Hwang Yong Du of the association gave a lecture on the subject "Undying feats of comrade kim jong suk, a heroine of the anti-Japanese war, will shine long".
He said comrade Kim Jong Suk, a heroine of the anti-Japanese war, embarked upon the road of revolution in her early years, joined in the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and performed imperishable feats for the cause of national liberation.
After the liberation of Korea from the Japanese colonial rule the respected comrade Kim Jong Suk devoted her all to the realisation of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung's plan of building a new country, the chairman said.
It is the will and faith of all the Korean nationals in China to venerate her forever, he added.
U.S. troops must be withdrawn from S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The Italian committee for peace and solidarity among the peoples and the Milano branch of the Italian committee for reunification and peace of Korea jointly sponsored a seminar in Modena city, Italy, on the subject "the U.S. troops responsible for the division of Korea must get out of South Korea" on November 26, 22 years after the united nations general assembly adopted a resolution calling for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea.
Matteo, member of the leadership bureau of the Italian committee for peace and solidarity among the peoples, said in his speech that the Korean people have undergone the greatest pains and tragedy of national division in modern history.
"The Korean nation's sufferings of division have lasted generation after generation because the united states has militarily occupied South Korea and encouraged the south Korean authorities to division and confrontation", he stressed.
"For an early reunification of Korea," he added, "it is necessary to implement the resolution of the 30th U.N. General Assembly Session on dissolution of the 'U.N. Command' and withdrawal of all foreign troops from South Korea".
The chief of the Milano branch of the Italian committee for reunification and peace of Korea said in his speech that the U.S. troops present in South Korea are the very one who aggravates the tension on the Korean peninsula and obstructs its peaceful reunification.
He declared that they would use every possible opportunity and means to intensify the solidarity movement so that the resolution of the 30th U.N. General Assembly Session could be implemented at an early date.
Rodong Sinmun on trite smear campaign in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- South Korean Prime Minister Ko Kon showed up at the defence postgraduate school on December 3 and made an address in which he cried that "leftist forces" sympathising with the north's line are seeking to "divide public opinion and neutralize government power."
Commenting on his outbursts, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says:
This is part of the desperate efforts of the South Korean puppets to save the shaking "civilian"-veiled fascist regime from the crisis by emasculating pro-reunification, pro-democracy patriotic forces under the pretext of rooting out "pro-communist leftist forces".
Their outcries over "following the north" and over "pro-communism and enemy-benefiting acts" are nothing but a brigandish sophism to find a pretext to crack down upon the movement of South Korean people for independence, reunification and democracy.
Whenever they were thrown into the crisis, the successive rulers of South Korea clamoured about liquidating "leftist pro-communist forces" in a bid to bring the situation under control.
Isolated within and without, Kim Young Sam is on the verge of ruin at a time when "Presidential election" is at hand. Urged by the desire to escape from this, he is intensifying the anti-DPRK policy of confrontation and war and the crackdown upon the patriotic forces by linking them with the DPRK.
However, this is a foolish attempt.
Hyunchongryon vows solidarity struggle against mass layoff
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The Federation of Trade Unions for Hyundai Group Subsidiaries (Hyunchongryon) of South Korea declared that if the "government" and business conglomerates pursue such instable policies as "system of allowing companies to lay off workers" as a result of negotiations with the international monetary fund, it would fight to check them by all means including general strike in solidarity with the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, a Seoul-based radio reported.
In a press conference on Dec. 3, Hyunchongryon said that the conglomerates' attempt to lay off workers en masse, ignoring the already concluded agreement, can never be tolerated because it is aimed at placing the whole responsibility for the present economic crisis on the workers.
