Release of So Jun Sik and other prisoners of conscience in S. Korea urged
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The International Centre of the Human Rrights Fund of Koreans in Japan made public a statement on December 17 denouncing the "civilian"-veiled fascist clique of South Korea for prosecuting detained So Jun Sik, chairman of the committee for human rights movement, for violating the "National Security Law," according to a report.
It said that the detention of so, a human rights champion, was a retaliatory act against his opposing the authorities' brutal suppression of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils and taking the lead in the human rights movement in South Korea.
Recalling that whenever it was in the grip of the ruling crisis, the Kim Young Sam regime fabricated "security-related cases" to escape from the crisis, it pointed out that the regime detained so in a bid to extricate itself from the ruling crisis in such a way.
It urged the immediate release of all prisoners of conscience including So Jun Sik and stop fabricating "security-related cases" aimed at prolonging the regime.
Removal of concrete wall demanded in Guyana
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Guyanese public figures strongly demanded the removal of the concrete wall.
Georgi Panon, Minister of Public Service of the Presidential Office of Guyana, said in a statement on December 12 that the concrete wall built in the area south of the Military Demarcation Line is a product of the Cold War and a physical barrier standing in the way of peace and peaceful reunification of Korea.
By pulling down the concrete wall, a symbol of division, at an early date, the South Korean authorities must create a substantial atmosphere needed for building confidence between the north and the south of korea, easing the political and military confrontation between them and ensuring a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, he stressed.
Samuel Walker, chairman of the Guyana Labour Union, said in a statement on December 15 that the wall is not a tank trap in view of size and form but an anti-reunification barrier aimed at perpetuating the division of Korea.
Taking it into consideration that the concrete wall was built in the area south of the Military Demarcation Line under the jurisdiction of the U.S. forces present in South Korea, we call upon the United States to feel responsible for this and exercise influence for the demolition of the wall.
U.S. new nuclear strategy under fire
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Of late the U.S. directed the spearhead of its nuclear strategy to the small countries who are out of favor with it from big countries, threatening that in case the "interests" of its allies are "violated" it would make a nuclear attack. In the recently-published new "guidelines" the U.S. adopted it as a policy to attack with nuclear weapons the small countries in case they use "bio-chemical weapons against the U.S." papers here today, commenting on this, say the new "guidelines" of the U.S. is, in essence, a new nuclear strategy worked out after re-examination of the nuclear strategy of the Cold War.
This clearly shows that the new nuclear scenario of the U.S. has been worked out against developing countries, particularly those countries which are fighting for independence against imperialism, the news analyst of Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:
After the Cold War the U.S. has had no rivals in nuclear arms race, and big countries with nuclear arms are committed to no-use of nuclear weapons against one another. The U.S., therefore, should awake from a nuclear dream and seek a nuclear scenario no longer.
The U.S. outcry over "attack by the small countries with bio-chemical weapons" and "encroachment upon the interests" of its allies is for nuclear preemptive strike at the countries which are fighting for independence against imperialism.
No country on earth tries to pose menace to the security of the U.S. or attack it. The U.S. outcry cannot be justified in any case, and it does not stand to reason.
The projected nuclear attack on the small countries brings into bolder relief the criminal nature and seriousness of the u.s. "strong-arm strategy", "new world strategy".
If the U.S. wants to see peace and advancement of humankind in civilisation, it should stop pursuing the criminal nuclear policy.
Minju Joson in a commentary says the U.S. focuses the nuclear strategy on the countries which go against the grain with it and the countries which hold high the banner of independence against imperialism, and with nothing can it realise its ridiculous nuclear strategy.
