Historic sites associated with revolutionary feats of mother Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- December 24 is the 80th birth anniversary of mother Kim Jong Suk, a communist revolutionary fighter. On this occasion, working people from all walks of life in Korea and officers and men of the Korean People's Army are visiting the Korean Revolution Museum and revolutionary sites showing the noble life, revolutionary feats and trait of mother Kim Jong Suk. An increasing number of visitors are calling at Hoeryong City, north Hamgyong Province, her hometown. There are her statue, old home, the revolutionary museum and other relics at the hometown. The visitors express deep reverence for her, looking back with deep emotion upon her brilliant life characterized by unfailing loyalty to the leader and devoted efforts for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people and upon immortal feats performed by her in making sure that the revolutionary cause of Juche is being successfully carried forward. The Korean people have long since lauded her as paragon of the woman communist revolutionaries and heroine of the anti-Japanese war. In order to convey the revolutionary feats of the woman general of Mt. Paektu forever, they have built revolutionary sites and erected her statues and monuments at different places associated with her revolutionary activities. They erected a statue of mother Kim Jong Suk standing beside azaleas in military uniform she used to wear during the anti-Japanese armed struggle, in Hoeryong city in Juche 58 (1969) to commemorate her 20th death anniversary. They also erected a statue of the heroine of the anti-Japanese war in Kim Jong Suk county in Juche 63 (1974) and a bust of her in Korean jacket at the Mt. Taesong Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Pyongyang in Juche 64 (1975). Monuments to her revolutionary feats were built in Chongjin city and Kyongsong and Puryong counties, north Hamgyong Province, in Samilpho-ri, Kosong county, Kangwon Province, and other places. Boards bearing her on-the-spot teachings have been built at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Kim Il Sung University and many other units associated with her revolutionary activities.

Demolition of concrete wall urged

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The union of agricultural workers of Guyana and the Guyanese national association of workers in agriculture, commerce and industry issued a joint appeal on December 9 for the demolition of the concrete wall. The concrete wall built in the area south of the military demarcation line on the Korean Peninsula is a product of the Cold War and a man-made barrier of national and territorial division without parallel in the world, the appeal says, and continues: "We strongly demand that the concrete wall should be pulled down, which is an obstacle to the building of confidence and the easing of the political and military confrontation between the North and South of Korea and the acceleration of the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula. "We believe that the friendly political parties and organisations around the world will show an affirmative response to our appeal. "We fully support the just struggle of the Korean people for achieving the independent, peaceful reunification of the country by confederacy formula."

Exhibition of Korean books, photos and crafts in Peru

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- An exhibition of Korean books, photos and crafts was held in Tumbes City of Peru from Dec. 6 to 11 on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of General Kim Jong Il's election as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army and the 80th birth anniversary of the communist revolutionary fighter mother Kim Jong Suk. The mayor of the city in his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony on Dec. 6 said that those who do not know the great leader of the third world people and veteran of the non-aligned movement President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il, the leader of the 21st century, could not be said to be politicians and public figures. He noted that Kim Jong Suk is the great mother of Korea and a heroine of the anti-Japanese war who firmly defended President Kim Il Sung. After seeing the exhibited photos, the commander-in-chief of the Peruvian armed forces stationed in the northern area said that he has known war history and famous generals of the world as a veteran general of the Peruvian armed forces. But General Kim Jong Il is the only worldwide famous general who even makes superpowers of the world tremble, he added. Over 10,000 citizens looked around the exhibition during the period.

S. Korean puppet clique's war moves and anti- reunification moves denounced

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The Trinidad and Tobago-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association and the Guyana-Korea Friendship Association issued a joint statement to denounce the war moves and anti-reunification moves of the South Korean authorities. The statement expressed strong concern over the anti-reunification manoeuvres of the Kim Young Sam group of South Korea who extremely aggravate the tension of the Korean Peninsula by reckless war exercises and buildup of armed forces and sternly denounced it. The Kim Young Sam group repeatedly conducted large scale war exercises with outside forces including landing operation for surprise attack against the north, "Foal Eagle", "Shield" and so on this year, it stressed, and went on: They seriously threatened peace and security of Korea with continuous armed provocations in the area near the military demarcation line and extensive introduction of military equipment from abroad. The South Korean authorities must stop military provocations and arms buildup at once, remove the concrete wall, make u.s. Troops withdrawn from South Korea and realize confederacy. This is a precondition for peace and peaceful reunification of Korea.

Repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners in S. Korea urged

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The Guyanese Association of Public Security judges sent a letter to the UN Secretary General on Dec. 9 in demand of repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners Kim In So and Ham Se Hwan in South Korea to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Saying that they could not meet with their families and relatives in the DPRK because of the unreasonable acts of the South Korean authorities, the letter hoped that the UN would actively cooperate in accelerating their repatriation.

"Kim Jong Il's Selected Works" Vol. 12 published

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- "Kim Jong Il's Selected Works" Vol. 12 was published by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of General Kim Jong Il's election as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army. It contains 7 works including his talks and letters from August Juche 80 (1991) to January Juche 81 (1992). The works were published when the Workers' Party and people of Korea were working hard for the victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche, smashing vicious moves of the enemies to stifle the DPRK and defending the Korean-style socialism under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il . The works expounded outstanding ideas, theories and policies of General Kim Jong Il, who penetrated deep into the rapidly changing situation and the requirment of the developing revolution with rare clairvoyant wisdom and scientific insight, and successfully led the revolutionary cause of Juche. The work "Let us further exalt the Korean-style socialism by strengthening the party work" and other works contain original ideas, theories and policies concerning the revolutionary party building and activities. General Kim Jong Il fully indicated policies and ways for strengthening the WPK organizationally and ideologically and conducting the party ideological work in a fresh way in line with theories of party organizational and ideological building and leadership art.

The Korean People's Army and the Korean nation, blessed with great supreme commanders generation after generation, are proud of advancing under the flag of the great brilliant commander, the only one of its kind in history, the daily says, and goes on: The flag of the supreme commander is the immortal flag reflecting the greatness of General Kim Jong Il. It is the banner of eternal victory that displays the might of the Korean People's Army. It is also the banner of pledge, the banner of unity which unites all the army and rallies the entire people in one mind in the spirit of defending the leader at the risk Of their lives. "Biography of Comrade Kim Jong Suk" off the press

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- "Biography of Comrade Kim Jong Suk" was brought out by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House to commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of the communist revolutionary fighter mother Kim Jong Suk. The book is about the revolutionary life, imperishable exploits and noble traits of mother Kim Jong Suk, who devotedly worked for President Kim Il Sung, the WPK, national liberation and victory in revolution, undergoing all sorts of sufferings. The book contains 13 chapters and 48 subtitles, among them, "She grows up, experiencing sufferings," "Youth Vanguard," "Woman General of Mt. Paektu," "Sunrays," "Looking forward to day of decisive battle," "Triumphant Return," "Immortal Image," and "Noble Obligation and Love". It also contains pictures showing revolutionary activity of mother Kim Jong Suk, revolutionary sites and mementoes.
