World people praise G.S. Kim Jong Il as military genius
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- The 6th anniversary of General Kim Jong Il's election as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army was celebrated in different countries.
Celebration meetings were held in Egypt, Uganda, Guinea and Nepal.
Meanwhile, lecture meetings, a reading session and film shows were sponsored by the pan-African movement in Uganda, the Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, group for the study of Kimilsungism, the Ilala, Dar-Es-Salaam, district committee of the revolutionary party of Tanzania, the group for the study of the Juche idea of comrade Kim Il Sung in Enmore, Guyana, "Dastan" Complex of Kyrgyzstan and the Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, group for the study of the Juche idea.
Present at the meetings were political and public figures and other people.
It was stressed at the meetings that General Kim Jong Il, KPA Supreme Commander, is a military genius, who has always attached importance to the army building and built the army as the main force of the revolution.
It was also said that the prospect of the Korean people and people's army led by General Kim Jong Il is bright and they will surely repulse the imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle them, reunify the divided country and accomplish the socialist cause.
In another development, an evening was held in Russia to celebrate the 6th anniversary of General Kim Jong Il's election as KPA Supreme Commander and the 80th birth anniversary of mother Kim Jong Suk, a communist revolutionary fighter.
Pictures of three generals of Mt. Paektu distributed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- Cards carrying pictures of the three great persons of Mt. Paektu were recently distributed to houses in Taegum-dong and Taeui-dong, eastern district, Kwangju city, South Korea, the Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation quoted information of the Kwangju city committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea as saying.
The envelopes containing those picture cards were mailed in the name of the Paektu society.
Printed on the front side of each card are letters "Let us boast of and uphold the three generals from Mt. Paektu, the most famous mountain in the world" against the background of Mt. Paektu at sunrise.
Carried on its back are pictures of the three generals in army uniform, with letters "ever-victorious brilliant commander Kim Il Sung", "peerlessly brilliant commander Kim Jong Il" and "heroine of Paektu General Kim Jong Suk".
Seeing the pictures, people expressed deep reverence for the great men and woman of the nation, the information said.
Undying guideline for party's ideological work
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- Teachings given by President Kim Il Sung on January 3, Juche 57 (1968) are an undying work that has brought about a fundamental change in the party's ideological work, stresses Rodong Sinmun in a by-lined article today.

Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- The Central People's Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea sent a message of greetings on January 1 to Muhammad Rafiq Tarar upon his assumption of office as the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
