Sophism revealing U.S. design to stifle the DPRK

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Department of Defense in an annual strategical report February 3 said that the DPRK remains the immediate security threat in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a news report from Washington. It went the length of branding the DPRK as the "only rogue nation". This reveals the U.S. criminal intention to stifle the DPRK militarily and expand its sphere of domination in the Asia-Pacific region. Its invariable aggressive design can be seen clearly in the fact that the report reaffirmed the U.S. war strategy on the Korean Peninsula allegedly to defend South Korea from "threats" by the DPRK, justified the U.S.-Japan military alliance on the pretext of "regional security" and cried for the U.S. key role in defending security in East Asia by keeping 100,000 U.S. troops there. It is a U.S. trite method to conceal its criminal and aggressive design by reversing black and white. The United States would be well advised to stop letting loose a string of hokum and immediately throw away the anachronistic design to stifle and dominate the DPRK.

Rodong Sinmun on invincibility of KPA

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Today is the 40th anniversary of the publication of "the Korean People's Army has inherited the anti-Japanese armed struggle", a famous work of President Kim Il Sung. In a signed article titled "invincible is our people's army which has inherited the traditions of the anti-Japanese war" dedicated to this anniversary, Rodong Sinmun today says: In the work, the President fully laid bare the moves of the anti-party factionalists to weaken the party leadership over the people's army and obliterate its glorious history and revolutionary traditions. He reclarified the revolutionary character of the people's army as the armed forces of the party and put forward tasks and ways to strengthen and develop it into invincible armed forces which inherited the glorious traditions of the anti-Japanese war. Today, the politico-ideological, military and technical aspects of the people's army have changed beyond recognition. The army is a vanguard of the revolution and invincible armed forces which have inherited the traditions of devotedly safeguarding the leader and the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu which was created by the anti-Japanese guerrillas. It resolutely defends the respected Supreme Commander General Kim Jong Il in the spirit of human bombs and suicide attack under the banner "Let us safeguard with lives the headquarters of the revolution headed by General Kim Jong Il." The revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu represents the spirit of breaking through any difficulties and an indomitable revolutionary, optimistic spirit of fighting it out, braving death. The anti-Japanese guerrillas played a leading role in pioneering the Korean revolution in the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu. Now, the people's army is playing a key role in opening a breakthrough for the decisive victory of Korean-style socialism in the revolutionary spirit of soldiers. Having inherited the fighting traditions of the anti-Japanese war, the people's army is an invincible force which is replete with the revolutionary comradeship and unity of officers and soldiers and which maintains blood relations with the people. No formidable enemy can dare to pounce upon this invincible army.
