President Kim Il Sung's reminiscences published in United States
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The second volume of the first part anti-Japanese revolution of President Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century" was published in English by the book donation society in New York on the occasion of Sun's Day, according to a report.
The society published the first volume in August Juche 84 (1995).
U.S.-S. Korea joint military manoeuvres begin
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the South Korean authorities began joint military manoeuvres throughout South Korea on April 23, according to a foreign press report.
The Rsoi, the fifth of its kind, is expected to last a week. Involved in the manoeuvres are the command of the U.S.-South Korea combined forces and the U.S. Forces in the Pacific region and the U.S. mainland and more than 7,000 puppet army soldiers.
The warmaniacs intend to increase the capacity of quick acceptance and deployment in operation theatres of the aggression forces in "emergency" on the Korean peninsula.
Army Day celebrated in Korea
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- An evening gala of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces took place at Jonsung Square here on April 24 to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the foundation of the heroic Korean People's Army (KPA).
Present were KPA vice marshals Jo Myong Rok and Kim Yong Chun.
The participants danced to the tune of the songs "Song Of Best Wishes," "He Is With Us," "March Of Guerrilla Army" and "Company Life Is Good."
They shouted revolutionary and militant slogans and sang "We Will Defend the Headquarters Of Revolution With Our Lives" in chorus, demonstrating their determination to firmly guarantee the revolutionary cause of Juche by force of arms.
A mass gymnastic display for national defence "We, Youths Of the Capital, Are Ready" was performed by more than 10,000 youths and students in Pyongyang at Kim Il Sung Square on Friday in celebration of the anniversary.
Vice-President Kim Pyong Sik and others saw the display.
It showed well the organisation, discipline and national defence sports activities of youths and students in the capital.
Meanwhile, a meeting of heroes of the Republic, model combatants and members of the Korean Democratic Women's Union took place at the People's Palace of Culture on this occasion.
Plenary meetings of working people's organisations held
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The 36th plenary meeting of the central committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the 33rd plenary meeting of the central committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the 28th plenary meeting of the central committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union were recently held in Pyongyang.
At the plenary meetings those organisations had discussions on the tasks to carry through the instructions of General Kim Jong Il for a new breakthrough in socialist economic construction in the heat of the forced march.
They laid emphasis on a work to lead all the members to follow the workers of the Songjin Steel Complex in effecting a great upsurge and demonstrate heroism in the ongoing forced march.
The UAWK and the KDWU dealt with organisational matters at their plenary meetings as well.
Sung Sang Sop was elected Chairman of the UAWK central committee and Chon Yon Ok Chairwoman of the KDWU central committee.
Labour disputes doubled in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- These days strikes of South Korean workers are increasing two times and their participants ten times those in the corresponding period of last year, according to a radio report from Seoul.
The workers are protesting the business owners for unreasonably laying them off and cutting their wages, driving their livelihood into a tight corner.
If the layoff system is introduced in full swing at big businesses, labour disputes will be escalated, the radio said.
Warmaniacs' criminal confab
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Military bosses of the United States, Japan and South Korea have held a confab related to "security on the Korean peninsula" in Seoul from April 23, a foreign news report said.
The warmaniacs are allegedly "exchanging information on the political situation and armed forces" of the DPRK and discussing strengthening military cooperation.
This is another foolish attempt to breathe new life into the South Korean authorities in the grip of a crisis and threaten the DPRK by military force through the intensified aggressive "triangular military alliance."
Wreaths and floral baskets laid on Army Day
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, servicemen, working people, youths and students laid wreaths at the revolutionary martyrs cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the patriotic martyrs cemetery and floral baskets at the monument to victory in the Fatherland Liberation War in Pyongyang on April 25, the 66th anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA).
Wreaths sent by General Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) were seen laid on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries and a floral basket sent by him before the main sculpture "Victory" of the monument.
Wreaths and floral baskets were laid there in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Central People's Committee and the Administration Council of the DPRK, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Public Security, working people's organisations, factories and co-op farms.

Soldiers of the people's army and martyrs graves across the
Country.
Ugandan government delegation here
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- A Ugandan government delegation led by Eriya Kategaya, first deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, arrived here today.
It was met at the airport by vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Pak Kil Yon and officials concerned.
