Military games in S. Korea denounced

Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland in information bulletin no. 764 on June 13 lashed out at the provocative military exercises being staged in South Korea these days. Under the pretext of "coping with possible brush-fire war provoked by the north," the South Korean puppets have staged frantic military exercises almost every day from the beginning of June with the mobilisation of huge military and police forces, the information bulletin said, and continued: What they seek in this is to divert elsewhere the public attention by creating a war atmosphere and thus put down the massive struggle of workers and students and escape from the present ruling crisis caused by the political confusion and economic bankruptcies. The reckless war games will only result in further aggravating the inter-Korean relations and laying grave hurdles in the way of peace and reunification of the country. The South Korean rulers would be well advised to look straight at our sincere and devoted efforts to open up an epochal phase for national reconciliation and unity, replace their anti-north confrontation policy with a pro-north reconciliation policy and stop the anti-social moves at once.

Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today calls the South Korean ruler a thorough-paced pro-U.S. flunkeyist and traitor who unhesitatingly betrays even the country and the nation to gratify his despicable political ambition and prolong his days. During his visit to the United States, he said the continued presence of 100,000 U.S. troops in northeast Asia is necessary for peace and stability of the region and that The U.S. military presence is needed even after the Korean peninsula is unified. Commenting on his remarks, the daily says: The division of Korea has continued for more than half a century due to the U.S. military presence in South Korea and the world's progressive people have been strongly urging the U.S. troop pullout from South Korea and northeast Asia. However, his remarks ignored this stark fact and only showed that he is a down-to-earth pro-U.S. flunkeyist and traitor. All the Korean people will never tolerate the South Korean ruler for his flunkeyism and treachery but severely punish him. If he wants to escape a stern judgement by history and the nation, he must stop flunkeyist and treacherous acts at once.
