S. Korean visitors enjoy acrobatic show
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Honorary chairman Jong Ju Yong of the Hyundai Business Group of South Korea and his party saw an acrobatic show at the Pyongyang circus theatre on June 17.
Seeing it together with them were vice-chairman Song Ho Gyong of the Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, officials concerned and working people in the city.
The show full of strong national identity, vibrating mettle and revolutionary optimism made indelible impressions on the spectators.
The spectators congratulated the performers on their refined technique and dexterous movements.
S. Korean puppets hell-bent on frantic suppression of Hanchongryon
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The puppet supreme public prosecutor's office of South Korea held a "meeting of the joint headquarters for investigation into the people who offend against public peace" on June 17 and ordered first-line police to arrest more than 330 persons, including some 280 deputies to the sixth-term South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), a Seoul-based radio said.
The fascist clique claimed that Hanchongryon may have "an illegal contact with north Korea" and gave instructions to prevent it in advance.
Worse still, they decided to suppress all the preparations of the organization for activities of the eighth grand reunification festival of the national alliance of youth and students for the country's reunification and round up all the people concerned.
This is one more frantic fascist offensive of the separatists against the fellow countrymen aspiring after reunification and righteous activities of students afire with patriotism.
True colors of tyrant revealed
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The South Korean puppet police applied for arrest warrants for eleven students who participated in the launching ceremony of the struggle for independent exchange, successful talks of students in the south, north and overseas and withdrawal of U.S. troops from South Korea held on June 13 under the sponsorship of the national reunification committee of Hanchongryon ( Korean Federation of University Student Councils). The police put the chairman of the committee on the "want" list.
Rodong Sinmun today views the fascist move as part of the South Korean puppet regime's desperate efforts to check the righteous, patriotic activities of Hanchongryon.
The puppet regime is very fearful of the students' struggle growing into a mass struggle against its misrule, the daily says in a commentary, and continues:
The South Korean rulers are now advertising "democratic politics." in actuality, however, they are intensifying the suppression of people.
The veil of the rulers, who are styling their regime a "government of the people," has already been removed from their faces and their true colors as fascist tyrants little different from former dictators have been revealed.
With any suppression, appeasement and deception, they cannot dispirit Hanchongryon, an invincible organization of patriotic-minded students.
They must know that the brutal suppression of students and people will only precipitate their doom.
Joint visit to Mt. Paektu proposed
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The student committee of Kim Jong Suk University of education under the north headquarters of the national alliance of youth and students for the country's reunification (Pomchonghakryon) in a June 12 letter to the general student council of Jeju National University of South Korea under the south headquarters proposed to set up a joint visiting group of students in the north and the south for Mt. Paektu this year for the first time in the history of division.
In the letter, the students in Hyesan, Ryanggang Province, said that they ardently hoped to visit Mt. Paektu shoulder to shoulder with their fellow students of Jeju National University, singing "Let us go to Mt. Paektu...," a popular song among South Korean students.
The students of Hamhung University of pharmacy in a letter to the students of Kyungil University in South Korea on June 12 proposed a joint study tour of South Hamgyong Province on the occasion of October 1, the anniversary of their university.
South Hamgyong Province is blessed with the industrial city of Hamhung, fishery bases, famous Pujon plateau, Majon recreation ground and many historical relics and remains.

In the bulletin CILRECO calls upon all the forces of the world supporting reunification and peace in Korea to express solidarity with the Korean people in their efforts for national reunification and great unity this year, too. It also calls upon the countries concerned and international organizations to work hard for the correct settlement of the Korean issue.
The bulletin says it is important for the present to apply pressure on the South Korean authorities to respond in an affirmative manner to the proposal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for reunification on the principle of national independence. At the same time, it is also important to force the United States which provoked the last Korean War and signed the armistice agreement to pull its forces out of South Korea, give up the policy of strength against the DPRK and stop meddling with the internal affairs of Korea.
