"Plan for army reform" announced in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The traitorous "government of people" of South Korea on July 2 announced a "plan for army reform" allegedly to unify the puppet army commanding system, according to a radio report from Seoul.
Under the plan, the field army commands of the 1st and 3rd army corps, now deployed in the forefront areas, will be merged into the ground operation command. And the 2nd army corps command is to be reformed into a logistic command while the command rooms of the first, second and third army corps in the puppet army headquarters will be unified into a headquarters command room.
The puppets also decided to integrate intelligence units allegedly for "effective support" to joint operations, transform the transport operation system and reduce the present 38-stage "decision-making process" to 24-stage one.
Never should it go unnoticed that the puppets' steps for unifying the army commanding system have been taken to keep pace with the U.S. imperialists, their master, in the moves to ignite a war against the north.

2nd meeting of preparatory comm. of August 15 grand reunification-oriented festival
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The second meeting of the preparatory committee of a grand festival for national reconciliation, unity and reunification was held in Pyongyang on July 3.
Discussed at the meeting were the process of the preparations for the festival and follow-up measures, especially a matter to provide against schemings of the South Korean government authorities who are trying to keep the south headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) and the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) from participating in the festival as the preceding dictatorial "regimes" did.
It was said at the meeting that the festival should be participated in by all political parties and organisations in South Korea and abroad, and Pomminryon and Hanchongryon that have led the August 15 Pan-Korea Rally and other joint reunification-oriented functions of people in the north, south and abroad and reunification movement should play a pivotal role to this end.
It was also said that the South Korean authorities should unconditionally allow Pomminryon south headquarters and Hanchongryon to take part in the festival, abolish the "National Security Law," dismantle the "Agency for National Security Planning" and work hard to create an atmosphere helpful to the festival, and that this is a position north Korea has always maintained.
It was unanimously stressed that for a peaceful holding of the festival reunification movement organisations and democrats in South Korea should set themselves against the fascist suppression on the part of the government authorities and conduct a powerful solidarity struggle for the participation of Pomminryon south headquarters and Hanchongryon in the festival.
Measures for pushing ahead with preparations for the festival were adopted at the meeting.
Dangerous war confab
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) --Papers here today describe the recent "South Korea-Japan Consultative Meeting on Security Policy" in Seoul as a dangerous war confab.
The meeting had discussions on matters of "building confidence" in security and "guaranteeing transparency" in military field and of the participation of South Korea in consultations for carrying into practice "guidelines for U.S.-Japan Defence Cooperation". This is a dangerous move to tighten the U.S.-Japan-South Korea triangular military alliance, says Rodong Sinmun.
The news analyst says:
With the tightened military tieup between Japan and the South Korean puppets and triangular military alliance the danger of a war is hourly growing stronger on the Korean peninsula.
We cannot remain a passive onlooker to these developments.
The Korean People's Army and people are following with sharpened vigilance the anti-DPRK war manoeuvrings of the Japanese reactionaries and the South Korean puppets.
Minju Joson describes the South Korea-Japan consultative meeting as a bargain between the traitors to the nation and their master.
The Korean people will never tolerate the flunkeyist treacheries of the South Korean government authorities who are working hard to bring into shape the triangular military alliance, it adds.
