Kim Il Sung's policy speech, banner of WPK and Korean people

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today stresses that the policy speech of the President Kim Il Sung (May 24, 1990) is a highly important guideline which must be consistently maintained by the Workers' Party and people of Korea. The policy speech is, first of all, a revolutionary banner which indicates the way of accomplishing Korean-style socialism, the daily says, and goes on: It gives a scientific exposition of the advantages of Korean-style socialism based on the Juche idea and clarified the tasks and ways of fully displaying the socialist advantages. All these tasks and ways are based on the law of the development of socialist society, actual requirements of the Korean revolution and the rich experience gained by the President while leading the socialist cause of Juche for a long period. The policy speech is also an immortal platform which comprehensively indicates the way of achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea. It indicates how to realize the cause of national reunification at an early date to meet the urgent desire of the whole nation. Among them are ways of easing tensions on the Korean peninsula and creating a peaceful circumstance for national reunification, of pulling down the barrier of division and realizing free visit and total opening between the north and south, of developing external relations on the principle of creating international circumstances in favour of the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and of forming a nationwide united front for reunification. The policy speech is also a revolutionary banner to defend and advance the socialist cause and realize global independence. Included in it are the way of smashing the imperialists' moves to disintegrate socialism and defending the socialist banner, the question of achieving the unity of the world progressive people in the struggle to prevent war and defend peace and the question of strengthening friendship and solidarity among the world people for global independence.

Reckless hostile acts must be discontinued

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The Japanese authorities, describing the launch of an artificial satellite in the DPRK as a "missile launch," are committing violent acts, threats and human rights violations against the organisations under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), students of Korean schools and other Koreans in Japan. Commenting on this fact, Rodong Sinmun today says: A grave situation reminiscent of the time of the Kanto Great Earthquake in 1923 is being created in Japan. The Japanese authorities are conniving at and fostering hostile acts against Chongryon organisations and Korean nationals in Japan, spreading "fear of missile." This shows how inveterate, persistent and reckless their hostile policy toward the DPRK is. All the Korean people are strongly denouncing with bitter resentment the hostile acts against the DPRK in Japan. Even though violent acts against the Koreans in Japan are committed under any pretext or in any form, they will be a hostile act against the DPRK and an infringement upon its sovereignty. If any slightest misfortune happens owing to the reckless anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves in Japan, we will blame the Japanese authorities for it and make them pay dearly for it.

Separatists' moves denounced

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the north headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) published a statement on Saturday denouncing the South Korean authorities' repression of pro-reunification patriotic figures as unpardonable anti-national, anti-reunification crime of the separatist forces. The South Korean rulers arrested Choe Jin Su, Secretary General of the Pomminryon south headquarters, groundlessly charging him with "helping" the delegates of Hanchongryon (South Korean Federation of University Student Councils) to take part in the August 15 grand pro-reunification festival. They also detained Father Mun Kyu Hyon on charges of "infiltration and escape", the statement recalled, and said: There is no room for argument about Hanchongryon delegates' participation in the festival. However, the South Korean authorities have clamoured about "help" in an insidious attempt to destroy pomminryon and Hanchongryon and, furthermore, all the reunification movement forces in South Korea. Their harsh suppression of patriotic activities for national reconciliation and unity shows that "dialogue and reconciliation" and "cooperation and exchange" on their lips are only a sham and a doctrine for confrontation with the north. What the South Korean rulers seek in this is to find a way out of the political and economic crisis caused by their sycophantic and treacherous policy of dependence on outsiders and eliminate the progressive pro-reunification patriotic forces against them. They must know that they will face a miserable end for their challenge to the people's desire for national reconciliation, unity and reunification.
