Root cause of misfortunes must be removed = KCNA commentary =
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A few days ago, "Minister of National Unification" of South Korea Kang In Dok in the "inspection of the administration of the national assembly" said that "the north's military strength must be weakened" and that "its government must be forced not to lord it over its people as it likes."
He is a truculent traitor and unprecedented anti-reunification element who has become infamous for his anti-DPRK confrontation moves.
Since he did the office of the "Minister of National Unification," he has poured out a spate of vile words against the political system of the north. Not content with this, he openly prattled that the "north's military strength must be weakened."
This eloquently shows that he is a more extreme rightwing anti-reunification element, than the preceding "Ministers of National Unification."
The 70 million fellow countrymen in the north, south and abroad are making every possible effort to realise the reconciliation and unity of the nation and bring earlier the day of reunification of the country, cherished desire of the nation, at any cost.
At this very juncture, he is hell-bent on fostering mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south, not reconciliation and unity, thus challenging the ardent desire of the fellow countrymen.
He is, indeed, a dirty fellow who must be removed at once because he is the root cause of misfortunes of the nation.
What is all the more unpardonable is the fact that he is uninterruptedly making venomous outpourings against the north.
As long as Kang In Dok, a truculent anti-national, anti-reunification element, acts as "Minister of National Unification" which they say supervises reunification-related issues, the improvement of relations between the north and the south as well as national reconciliation and unity cannot be realised.
This is why he must be removed from his office at once.
S. Korean authorities' moves for opening doors to Japanese culture must be checked
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Literature and the Arts of Korea in a statement on October 29 bitterly denounced the present South Korean ruling forces for opening doors to Japanese culture to turn South Korea into a barren land of the national character.
the statement said:
They adopted a "policy" to open doors to Japanese culture and are trying to introduce the decadent Japanese culture into South Korea. This is a criminal move to obliterate the national culture peculiar to Korea and dull the national consciousness of the people. Such acts can be committed only by those obsessed with treachery.
The chief executive of South Korea committed such a treacherous act as allowing the introduction of Japanese culture into South Korea, thus fully revealing his nature as an out-and-out pro-U.S., pro-Japanese element and the present-type traitor like "five traitors of 1905".
All the fellow countrymen in the north, south and abroad will not pardon the crimes of the chief executive of South Korea who is obliterating the peculiar culture of the Korean nation but sternly punish him.
Anti-Chongryon moves of Japanese authorities condemned
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea on Thursday made public a statement denouncing Japan's frantic anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves.
The moves of the Japanese authorities are designed to realise their wild ambition for military power, impair the high international prestige and authority of the DPRK and stamp out Chongryon and the patriotic movement of compatriots overseas, the statement said, and went on:
With the anti-DPRK, anti-Chyongryon moves Japan is seeking to divert somewhere else public attention and step up its plan for military power and nuclear armament, but it is a foolish illusion.
The anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves of the Japanese reactionaries can never be justified by anything. These moves only add a new crime to the past crimes of Japan against the Korean people. The Japanese authorities should immediately stop the anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves.
If Japan continues resorting to hostility toward the DPRK in defiance of our warnings and calling out right-wing gangsters and ruffians to persecute Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, the working class and people of Korea will never remain an onlooker and Japan will be to blame for it.
Pyongyang citizens flail anti-Chongryon rackets
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang mass meeting was held on October 29 to denounce the Japanese reactionaries' moves against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
In his speech, Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, said that the Japanese reactionaries are conducting frantic anti-DPRK rackets over the launch of an artificial satellite in the DPRK and more viciously committing attacks on Chongryon and Korean residents in Japan than ever before.
He further said:
In Japan, all units from the government to the ruling and opposition parties, the military, press media and local self-governing bodies are adopting policies woven with anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon content. Worse still, they are trying to bring the people to have national chauvinistic views and feelings against the DPRK.
"The reactionary ruling circles of Japan are purposefully launching such frantic rackets to create an atmosphere needed for legal measures and public support for a military power."
"If they persist in the anti-DPRK rackets, the Korean people will regard Japan as a sworn enemy and take a strong self-defensive measure against barbaric hostile acts of Japan so as to take a thousand-fold revenge upon the provokers."
"The U.S. authorities must not try to do harm to the DPRK in league with Japan over its launch of an artificial satellite but clearly know about their opponents and act with discretion."
"The South Korean authorities should bear in mind that if they run amuck to curry favour with the U.S. and Japanese masters, they will get nothing but nation's denunciation and their own ruin."
Representatives of people from all walks of life took the floor.
They declared that if the Japanese reactionaries persist in the anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon rackets, the workers, farmers, youth and students and other people of Korea would take a merciless revenge upon the enemy in defence of the dignity of Juche Korea.
U.S. hardliners must not act rashly
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The U.S. conservative hard-liners are hurling mud at the DPRK-U.S. framework agreement and resorting to base moves to put a spoke in the wheel of its implementation.
Commenting on this fact, Rodong Sinmun today says:
Their acts reflect the discontent and complaint of the conservative hard-liners after failing in their attempt to overthrow the DPRK with an "appeasement strategy" and frustrate the framework agreement.
The agreement is neither a present of anyone nor a trade dealing. It is a step for simultaneous action between the DPRK and the United States to solve the nuclear issue and ensure peace on the Korean peninsula.
We take a serious view of the fact that the U.S. conservative hard-liners are prattling the supply of heavy oil has strengthened the Korean People's Army and increased the war capacity of the DPRK, encouraging it to start a "second korean war".
This is a sophism intended to frustrate the framework agreement and justify their Korea policy for aggression.
It is the United States that is trying to ignite another war in Korea. Particularly, the United States is frantically trying to start a nuclear war in Korea.
The U.S. conservative hard-liners are alleging that the DPRK is continuously pushing ahead with its "nuclear plan" and building an "underground nuclear facility." this is aimed at inventing an excuse for nuclear war.
Our stand is clear. If the United States regards the agreement as troublesome, it may act as it wishes. We hope that the agreement will be implemented faithfully.
Though it is broken, however, we have nothing to fear and lose. The United States must know that it will be held wholly responsible for all the consequences arising therefrom.
The U.S. conservative hard-liners would be well advised to ponder over the consequences to be entailed by their Korea policy and stop acting rashly.
Japanese reactionaries warned not to act rashly
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Japanese reactionaries are working hard to intensify military tie-up with the U.S., while staging "joint military manoeuvres" on the pretext of "security."
Minju Joson today, commenting on this, says:
Officials of the Foreign Ministry and the Defence Agency of Japan exchanged views on "the situation of the Korean peninsula" with the U.S. defense undersecretary on a visit to Japan, and there were unusual "joint military manoeuvres" of the Japanese maritime "self-defence force" and warships from the three countries, which had been the satellite countries of the U.S. imperialists in the last Korean War.
The very dangerous moves cannot be overlooked.
The news analyst says:
Japan is now intensifying the anti-DPRK smear campaign and stepping up arms buildup as never before in the wake of the DPRK's launch of an artificial satellite for the peaceful purposes. Japanese reactionaries, raising a hue and cry over the "launch of ballistic missile," are inciting anti-Korean feelings among the Japanese and increasing armaments drastically on the plea of "missile threats."
The dangerous military moves of the Japanese reactionaries are creating a new danger of war in and around the Korean peninsula.
The Japanese reactionaries, far from atoning for their crime-woven history, are trying to repeat it. They will get nothing from that.
If they take the road of aggression on Korea again, the Korean people and the People's Army will mete out a thousandfold punishment to them to pay off old scores.
Committee of probe into murder of Chongryon Chiba branch official and arson inaugurated
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A committee of probe into murder of an official of the Chiba branch of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and arson was inaugurated in Japan.
The inaugural meeting held on October 23 elected Akira Okawa, a lawyer of the Midori General Law Office, chairman of the committee.
It was said at the meeting that conscientious figures of Japan should join in the efforts for probe into the truth behind the incident.
The committee is expected to give a lecture among the Japanese and ask the Japanese government and relevant authorities to probe the truth behind the incident.
Proposal for national reunification by confederacy formula supported
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Organisations of Egypt and Guyana released statements in the month of support to the proposal for founding a Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo.
The Egypt-Korea Friendship Association in a statement dated October 21 said:
Now that there are different ideas and social systems in the north and south of Korea, the best way of achieving the independent, peaceful reunification of the country is to establish confederation based on one nation, one state, two systems and two governments.
The Arab Art and Information Association of Egypt in a statement on October 22 said the proposal for founding the DCRK laid down by the President Kim Il Sung conforms with the demands and interests of the Korean people.
It expressed the conviction that the Korean people under the wise guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Il will reunify the country without fail.
The Guyana-Korea Friendship Association in a statement on October 20 expressed full support for the proposal for founding the DCRK, saying that the proposal which is the embodiment of the three principles of national reunification-independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--constitutes the most reasonable solution to the reunification question of Korea for the present.
The Guyana Labor Union and the Guyana Agricultural Workers Union in a joint statement on October 20 strongly demanded that the South Korean authorities immediately pull down the concrete wall to build inter-Korean confidence, defuse a political and military confrontation and promote peaceful reunification.
Unpardonable misbehaviour =KCNA commentary=
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Of late the U.S. Congress reportedly agreed to provide funds for "heavy fuel oil shipments to North Korea." the budget agreement set unreasonable conditions for the funding such as "a solution to the nuclear facility allegations" and "control of development and export of missiles" allegedly to facilitate the implementation of the DPRK-U.S. framework agreement, getting on the nerves of the DPRK.
The members of the U.S. house of representatives from the republican party in a recent statement calling for turning the policy on North Korea into a "peace policy based on strength" set seven conditions, including "verification of suspended export of missiles," for the supply of heavy fuel oil.
All this is a result of the intensified anti-DPRK campaign of the U.S. conservative hard-liners who do not want the implementation of the DPRK-U.S. framework agreement.
Their moves to stifle the DPRK cannot be justified in any case.
The supply of heavy fuel oil is an obligation of the U.S. under the framework agreement. The budget with no conditions, therefore, should be approved by the congress.
By setting unreasonable conditions for the supply the U.S. seeks to block the supply and attain a sinister political purpose through it.
As a matter of fact, the U.S. is using the supply as the lever to put pressure on the DPRK as well as means to disarm it.
With a view to disarming the DPRK the U.S. is now claiming that civil underground structure is an "underground nuclear facility" and crying for inspection. It is also crying for the control of missile development, deployment and export which belong to the sovereignty of the DPRK. The U.S. act is a product of a hostile policy it has so far pursued towards the DPRK. It can be more clearly seen in the fact that the members of the U.S. house of representatives from the republican party described the DPRK as a "strange monster state which has been engaged in suppression of the people for half a century."
Their slander on the DPRK where the leader, the party and the people are united in one mind and all the people live in a large harmonious family is an open challenge to and vicious insult to the Korean people.
The U.S. conservative hard-liners are intensifying the anti-DPRK campaign as never before in accordance with the party interests and policy with the approach of the mid-term parliamentary election due early in November.
As a consequence, the DPRK-U.S. framework agreement has been exposed to a danger and the touch-and-go situation is prevailing in the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. and South Korean warmaniacs are staging large-scale joint military manoeuvres against the DPRK one after another. Under this situation all the Korean people and the officers and men of the People's Army are now in full combat readiness to defeat the aggressors at one stroke.
The U.S. warmaniacs are using the framework agreement for disarming us and threatening us by force of arms. Judging from the situation, it is only too natural for us to take a self-defensive countermeasure.
Belated repentance is of no use. If the U.S. warmaniacs break the framework agreement and take the road of war out of all reason, we will take a self-defensive countermeasure. The U.S. will be wholly held responsible for all the consequences arising therefrom.

Some members of Jong Ju Yong's party visit King Tangun's Mausoleum
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Some member of the party of Honorary Chairman Jong Ju Yong of the Hyundai Business Group of South Korea today visited the Mausoleum of King Tangun, the father of ancient Korea.
While looking round the monument to the reconstructed Mausoleum of King Tangu, vaults and other places, the visitors were deeply moved by the successful reconstruction of the mausoleum into a historic wealth proving that the Korean people have a 5,000-year-long history and they are of the same blood.
They keenly felt that the Korean people with King Tangun as their ancestral father are resourceful, the people who have taken the lead in blazing a trail for human culture, and that as they are of the same blood, they cannot live separated.
On the same day, they visited the central zoo.
