Choe Thae Bok meets Colombian delegation

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, Chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), met and had a talk with a Colombian parliamentary delegation headed by Juan Ignacio Castrillon, member of the House of Representatives, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday. The head of the delegation said that he was deeply moved to see grand monumental edifices built in the capital city of Pyongyang during his stay. He hoped that the Korean people would achieve greater progress and prosperity under the wise guidance of the great leader Kim Jong Il.

Early end to U.S. military occupation of S. Korea called for

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- 50 years have passed since a "resolution for maintenance of U.S. Forces" was passed through the first "National Assembly" session following a "separate government" faked up in South Korea. In this regard papers here today run articles calling for an early end to the U.S. military occupation of South Korea. Rodong Sinmun ( Paper of Workers' Party of Korea) in a signed article says the U.S. military occupation of South Korea cannot be justified in any case because it goes against the basic interests of the Korean people. The daily goes on: The history of the division of the Korean nation which began in the mid-twentieth century still continues to the threshold of the 21st century, which is attributable to the U.S. military occupation of South Korea and colonial policy. In view of the armistice agreement which envisaged the withdrawal of all foreign troops from the Korean peninsula and in view of the resolution of the 30th UN General Assembly session calling for the dismantling of the "UN Command" in South Korea and pullout of all foreign troops from the region, there is no legal justification whatsoever for the U.S. military presence in South Korea. The U.S., far from pulling its forces out of South Korea, is claiming that the U.S. military presence is helpful, in a bid to maintain its forces in the region. This proves that the U.S. still refuses to rectify its anachronistic Korea policy, and pursues the policy of strength in an effort to swallow up the whole of Korea. Minju Joson demands that the present chief executive of South Korea stop pursuing a disgraceful policy of dependence on outsiders to prolong his remaining days, pursue the policy of national independence in place of the policy of dependence on outsiders and get the U.S. Forces withdrawn from South Korea.

Criminal course of collusion and tieup

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Seven years have passed since the United States and the South Korean authorities signed the "wartime host nation support agreement." The "agreement" stipulates that in case the United States unleashes a war on the Korean peninsula, South Korea shall offer munition and logistic assistance so that the U.S. troops in the U.S. mainland, Okinawa and other places may be swiftly dispatched to and deployed in South Korea. With the "agreement" signed, the U.S. military domination over South Korea has been further strengthened and the system of igniting another Korean war be completed. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says: The United States and the South Korean authorities are clamouring for maintenance of the aggressive "agreement." Underlying their clamouring is a sinister intention to ally with each other to stifle the DPRK. After the "agreement" was signed, the United States has deployed huge armed forces of aggression in and around South Korea and staged many war manoeuvres for an preemptive attack on the DPRK. The "agreement" should be repealed and the U.S. and South Korean authorities moves of aggression and war be stopped. The key to fundamentally removing the acute political and military confrontation from the Korean peninsula is to put an end to the U.S. military intervention. To this end, a peace accord should be signed between the DPRK and the United States, the very signatories to the armistice agreement, and the U.S. troops be pulled out of South Korea.

Korean people are most dignified

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- A. A. Ponomaryov, Chairman of the Russian Parliamentary Group for Friendship and Liaison with the DPRK who is on a visit to Korea, was interviewed by the KCNA on Nov. 19. He highly praised the greatness of President Kim Il Sung and the respected leader Kim Jong Il and expressed support for the Korean people's righteous cause. President Kim Il Sung was the great leader who achieved a lot of exploits in the struggle for building Korean-style socialism, and the decision to uphold him as the eternal President of the DPRK is entirely right, he said, and went on: The Koreans have become the most proud people in history by placing Kim Jong Il, the reliable successor to the revolutionary cause of the president, at the head of the party and the state. Kim Jong Il is famous as a great man among the world people as well as the Korean people and we support him and the Korean people. Witnessing the Korean people advancing for greater victory even under the imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, I have come to firmly believe that they will never kneel down but win the final victory.

S. Korean authorities' "invitation" of Japanese "Emperor"

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Pil, "Prime Minister" of South Korea, on Nov. 18 asked a member of the Japanese house of councillors from the Liberal Democratic Party on a visit to Seoul to arrange the Japanese "Emperor's" visit to South Korea in the year 2000, not in 2001, according to a radio report from Seoul. During his Japan visit in October the chief executive of South Korea told the Japanese "Emperor" that "he hoped for the merger of South Korea and Japan" and invited him to visit South Korea. However, he dared not set the day of his Seoul visit but postponed it two years, pressed by the rising anti-Japanese feelings of South Korean people. Kim Jong Pil had led the van in realizing collusion with Japanese militarists. His request for earlier Seoul visit of the Japanese "Emperor" revealed his traitorous nature once again.

55th anniversary of Lebanese Independence Day

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on November 21 sent a message of greetings to Emile Lahoud, President of Lebanon, on the 55th anniversary of the independence of Lebanon. The message wished the Lebanese President and people greater success in the work for prosperity of the country and territorial integrity. Hong Song Nam, Premier of the cabinet of the DPRK, sent a message of greetings to his Lebanese counterpart Rafic Hariri and Paek Nam Sun, Foreign Minister, to Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz.
