Pae Kil Su wins gold medal
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Labor hero of the DPRK and people's sportsman Pae Kil Su on December 10 won the gold medal in the pommel horse with 9.800 points at the 13th Asian Games.
He is known as "king" of pommel horse by getting gold medals in the world gymnastic championships held in 1992 and 1996, the 25th Olympic Games and other international games.
Meeting held in Austria
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in Vienna on December 4, to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the election of Kim Jong Il as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army and the 81st birthday of communist revolutionary fighter Kim Jong Suk, which fall on December 24.
Present at the meeting were many public figures of Austria.
It was stressed at the meeting that the respected Kim Jong Il is an outstanding military strategist and iron-willed commander who built the Korean People's Army into an invincible army and a great genius of leadership who enjoys deepest respect from the world people.
The meeting stressed that what holds the most brilliant place in the life of the great communist revolutionary fighter Kim Jong Suk was intense loyalty to the leader and devoted sevice for the nation and people.
Rodong Sinmun on missile incident in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- A few days ago, an artillery unit of the South Korean army launched a ground-to-air "Nike" missile aiming at the north that exploded in mid-air.
Commenting on this provocative incident, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says:
This eloquently shows part of the premeditated and adventurous moves of the South Korean warmongers to kindle the train of a war against the north by zealously joining in the U.S. plan for a second Korean war of aggression.
The Korean peninsula is now placed under a touch-and-go situation.
At this very juncture, a fully-armed missile exploded in mid-air while flying toward the north. This is a provocative act such as igniting a war against the north.
The South Korean rulers say that the missile launch is a "misfire." however, their advertisement is nothing but a sophism to calm down public opinion, flee from the responsibility for the incident and conceal their zeal for northward invasion.
It is only too clear that the "Nike" missile which is 8.2 metres long and weighs 4.5 tons cannot be "misfired" by an "error" because it can be launched, controlled and guided by such modern technical means as radar and electronic computers.
If the South Korean rulers persistently try to evade apology for their anti-national misbehaviour, the DPRK government will make them pay for their crimes thousand-fold.
Indignation meetings of youth and students
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Meetings of youth and students denouncing the new war provocation moves of the U.S. imperialists were held in all provincial seats and at the Ministry of Railways between Dec. 7 and 10 after the statement of the spokesman for the Korean People's Army general staff was published.
Speakers at the meetings said that the five million young Korean people are fully armed with the spirit of defending the leader with their lives, the spirit of becoming human bombs and the spirit of suicidal attack in view of the enemy's challenge.
Once they are given an order by the respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il, they will together with the Korean People's Army turn the enemies' strongholds, washington, Seoul and Tokyo into a sea of flame and achieve historicl cause of national reunification, they said, and stressed:
If the U.S. ringleader of aggression and plunder and disturber of the world peace and stability, misjudge the will of the Korean youth and unleash a war, all of them will be annihilated on the planet.
Meanwhile, meetings were held at enterprises and on co-op farms across the country.
Speakers at the meetings said that the more frantically the U.S. imperialists run amuck in the moves for a new war spreading "operation plan 5027" for a second Korean war of aggression, the greater the Korean people's indignation and will of revenge will grow.
They said that there is no place for the enemy to set foot on this land, the impregnable fortress in which all the people are under arms.
Demonstration against "South Korea-Japan fisheries pact"
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Students under the Seoul district Federation of University Student Councils (Sochongryon) held a surprise demonstration in front of the building of an opposition party on Dec. 8, according to a radio report from Seoul.
They voiced opposition to "parliamentary approval" of the treacherous "South Korea-Japan fisheries pact," throwing paint bottles at the building of the opposition party and scattering leaflets.
They strongly demanded Kim Young Sam and other flunkeyist traitors be punished.
The police made a racket of check up and search to arrest the demonstrators.
Statement of spokesman for KPA general staff supported
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Ri Tong Chol, chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, made public a statement on December 8 supporting the statement of the spokesman for the general staff of the Korean People's Army.
In the statement the chairman vehemently denounced the U.S. imperialists, the South Korean and Japanese authorities, for threatening to unleash a war and betraying an aggressive design against the northern half of Korea.
He warned that if the U.S. imperialists unleash a new war on the Korean peninsula, the war will be the last one of the U.S. and that they must be mindful that they will be burnt to death in the flames of the new war.
Greetings to Bulgarian Foreign Minister
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Paek Nam Sun, Foreign Minister of the DPRK, sent a message of greetings to Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nadezhda Mihailova on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Bulgaria.
The message said that the relations of the two countries have developed on good terms in all fields in the idea of independence, peace and frienship during a half century.
The message expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations existing between the two countries will consolidate and develop on good terms in the interests of the two peoples on the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefits.
Greetings to Jordanian parliament speaker
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Abdul Hady Al Majaly upon his election as speaker of the parliament of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan.
In the message he expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the parliaments of the two countries would develop and wished him new success in his responsible work.
