Clinton reverses black and white

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Bill Clinton reportedly took issue with the DPRK over human rights problem. At a White House ceremony held on December 10 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, he said that "all nations need to do more" in the aspect of human rights and "human rights records need to be improved in such countries as North Korea." This is a base and shameless balderdash of reversing black and white and slandering the DPRK. His provocation is intended to tarnish the dignified image of the DPRK and intensify the moves to isolate and stifle it. The United States, notorious as kingpin of human rights violations in the world, had better go about its own business, rather than poke its nose into others' human rights issue only to disgrace itself.

S. Korean students demand repeal of "NSL"

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Students staged a surprise demonstration in front of "Chongwadae" on December 10 calling for the abolition of the "National Security Law," according to a radio report from Seoul. They chanted the slogans calling for the abolition of the "NSL" and expressing opposition to the enactment of the "law on human rights" without release of prisoners of conscience. The fascist clique arrested all the demonstrators on the spot.

Japanese government hit for militarisation

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The Madagascar-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee recently released a statement denouncing the Japanese government for trying to militarise Japan. The statement vehemently denounces the Japanese authorities for reckless moves to step up new war provocation in Asia, and extends support and solidarity to the Korean people who are firmly defending the socialist system in the tense situation triggered by the Japanese authorities' anti-DPRK campaign. It calls upon the progressive people who love justice and peace to determinedly oppose and reject the wildcat militaristic design of the Japanese authorities.

Treacherous behaviour of S. Korean chief executive

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The South Korean chief executive on December 11 invited 20 U.S. brasshats, including the commander of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in South Korea to "Chongwadae " and implored them to put the U.S. military forces on a "maximum alert" for "successful promotion" of what the South Korean authorities call "the policy of embracing the north". He even highly appreciated the "merits of the U.S. military forces in South Korea for securing peace in the Korean peninsula." His entreaty reveals part of the foul nature of South Korean rulers.

"Operation plan 5027" under fire

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Organisations in India and Nepal expressed full support to the statement of a spokesman of the general staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA). The Indian Journalists' Institute of Juche in a statement on Dec. 7 denounced the U.S. moves to unleash a war against the DPRK with large armed forces amassed under the "Operation plan 5027" as an anachronistic illusion. The statement said that if the U.S. imperialists unleash a new war, the heroic KPA and brave Korean people rallied around Supreme Commander Marshal Kim Jong Il will not pardon them. The Baktapur, Nepal, Solidarity Committee for Korea's Reunification in a statement on Dec. 7 demanded that the DPRK-targeted "Operation plan 5027" of the U.S. imperialists be repealed at once and the U.S. troops and nuclear weapons withdrawn from South Korea.

U.S. war program against DPRK condemned

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Secretary general Om Prakash Mantri of the Asian Regional Committee to Support Korea's Reunification sent a letter of protest to the U.S. President on Dec. 7 denouncing the U.S. move to provoke a new war in Korea. The letter pointed out the reactionary nature of his recent visit to South Korea and the "Operation plan 5027" against the DPRK. It noted that if a second war is unleashed in Korea by the U.S., it will soon turn into a worldwide nuclear war and inflict a great holocaust upon humankind. The U.S. should withdraw its troops from South Korea and cancel its war program against the DPRK at once, it stressed.

Anti-"government" struggle gets momentum in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- About 7,000 South Korean people of different social standings held rallies and demonstrations in Seoul and Pusan on Saturday in defence of their vital rights, a Seoul-based radio said. The headquarters of the South Korean National Movement sponsored a rally of some 6,000 people for prevention of the introduction of lay-off system and in defence of their vital rights. Outraged at the drastic growth of the unemployed by the rulers' "restructuring," the ralliers called for dynamically struggling in defence of the right to existence. In another development, the South Korean "National Preparatory Committee for Rallying the Poor" held a '98 rally to the memory of the poor martyrs. Criticising the anti-social moves of the present "government", it urged the authorities to legalize the business of stalls and take a step for the life of the evacuated citizens. And more than 1,000 workers of the Samsung Motor Co. Ltd. went on a strike for vital rights at branch offices in Pusan. The movement of South Korea are staging a demonstration each day in protest against the U.S. cultural infiltration and the puppet authorities' sycophantic and treacherous move to obliterate the movie industry of South Korea.

EU hopes for development of relations with DPRK

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The European Union hopes to develop relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and work together on the principle of mutual respect, said Leo Tindemans, member of the European Parliament and head of the European parliamentary delegation on a visit to Korea, when it was interviewed by KCNA on Saturday. Touching on the fact that the talks and exchange of opinions were held on a qualitatively high level during their visit, he said he came to a conclusion that high-level and continuous dialogue between the EU and the DPRK should be held. He could clearly know what great damage Korea has suffered from such natural disasters as floods and what influence the tension in northeast Asia exerts upon Korea, he said, noting he thinks Korea needs the cooperation of the international community in removing such things. He keenly felt that he should do his best to help Korea, he noted, saying they are determined to do their utmost to improve political and diplomatic relations between the EU and Korea. The head and members of the delegation said as both sides are ready to continue and receive cooperation, a better cooperative relation would be established if they make efforts on either sides.

We will do what we should do

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Spokesmen for the U.S. Departments of State and Defense recently raised a hue and cry about "threat to regional situation," spreading a rumour that there is a possibility for the DPRK to launch a new missile. Minju Joson today describes their utterances as screams of those in panic for fear of the powerful military might of the DPRK. The paper says the U.S. behaviour is like a wolf who wakes up a sleeping tiger and gets frightened by it. It is an insidious design of the U.S. to isolate and stifle the DPRK by force of arms so as to establish its monolithic dominationist system in Asia. To this end the U.S. has amassed large military forces in and around the Korean peninsula to stage aggressive and adventurous war exercises against the DPRK almost everyday and is keeping pressure including economic sanctions. The U.S. is mistaken, however. We are fully ready to strike a thousandfold retaliatory blow at anyone who dares to encroach upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK. We do not have any reason to read other's face. The Korean people will do what they should do no matter what others say.

Servant of "great powers"

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today comments on dishonest people of the International Atomic Energy Agency who play the role of servant for "great powers" in line with the United States' anti-DPRK campaign. The news analyst says: The director general of the IAEA flew to South Korea and expressed "support" for the U.S. demand for "inspection" of the "underground nuclear facility" in the DPRK. This shows he evidently plays the role of servant for the U.S. At the time of "nuclear inspection" campaign in the early 1990s, the dishonest people of the IAEA made hostile activities against the DPRK without impartiality and neutrality at the instigation of the U.S. and other western forces who tried to isolate and stifle the DPRK. The DPRK gave warning message against those activities more than once and finally adopted a resolute measure of withdrawing from the non-proliferation treaty because the NPT and the IAEA were used for sinister political purposes. Today the IAEA, far from drawing a lesson from the past, is fanning the U.S. moves for stifling the DPRK militarily with outcries for "inspection." the DPRK will certainly make the dishonest people of the IAEA pay for their acts. They must act with discretion, mindful that they will suffer more disgrace under the eyes of the international community if they continue to act as a servant for "great powers."

U.S. forces in S. Korea, wrecker of peace and stability on Korean peninsula

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today says the U.S. forces in South Korea are not "defender of peace." The paper in a signed article continues: The United States describes its forces in South Korea as ones for "peace and stability" on the Korean peninsula. This is motivated by its shameless design to justify its military occupation of South Korea and new war preparations and unleash an allout war against the DPRK. The U.S. imperialist aggression forces are a chief disturber of peace and stability. They aggravate inter-Korean confrontation and tension and increase the danger of fratricidal war with reckless military provocations and war rackets. The situation on the Korean peninsula is running toward explosion with each passing day. This is entirely owing to the U.S. imperialists' occupation of South Korea and new war preparations. Never have they responded to our fair peace overtures. On the contrary, they have worked hard to unleash a new war of aggression, a nuclear war, on the Korean peninsula, pursuing the "policy of strength" behind the facade of "peace." Activities are being made for all-out war under the "Operation Plan 5027," the plan of a second Korean war of aggression. The U.S. imperialists' scheme for invasion of the DPRK has gone beyond the danger line. The outbreak of all-out war on the Korean peninsula is a matter of time. Peace and reunification of the country cannot be achieved nor can the nation avoid nuclear scourge, without removing from Korea the U.S. imperialist aggression forces, the root cause of tension, wrecker of peace and source of new war on the Korean peninsula. They must withdraw from South Korea without delay.
