Spotlight to site of self-reliance

Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Won Il Bae, a researcher of the South Korean "Institute of North Korean Economy", published an article titled "spotlight to the site of self-reliance," Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation said. The article deals with the true aspect of the northern half of Korea that sweeps away the politico-military pressure and economic blockade of the imperialists and brings into bloom the superiority of socialism by dint of self-reliance. It says: It is wonderful that the north has successfully launched a satellite which requires high-grade technicians, high-tech means, a lot of funds and powerful self-supporting industry, by its own technology and efforts. The imperialist allied forces have been persistently resorting to sanctions and blockade in a bid to isolate and stifle the northern half of Korea at whatever costs. However, the north declared it would live its own way by its own strength, self-reliance regardless of their sanctions and blockade. Slogans "Let us live our own way " and "Self-reliance is the only way to existence" are seen everywhere in the north. "Self-reliance is the only way to existence" -- this is the faith and will of the people in the north. The people in the north neither envy others nor want a help from others. They do all with their own efforts, their own technology and their own raw and other materials. The north's policy of independence, the policy of self-reliance and self-support is the one that was administered by President Kim Il Sung. The banner of self-reliance held high by President Kim Il Sung has been firmly defended and held higher by Marshal Kim Jong Il. I am firmly convinced once again that self-reliance is the only way for the nation to existence. Patriotic people of all walks of life should put an end to the U.S. colonial rule over South Korea and retake the sovereignty.
