Joson Sinbo on Mt. Kumgang tour of "spokesman for Chongwadae"
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- Joson Sinbo carried a signed article on the Mt. Kumgang tour of "spokesman for Chongwadae" of South Korea Pak Ji Won.
The author of the article said: Pak Ji Won, together with tourists, visited the north between January 31 and February 1 aboard the ship "Kumgang" of the Hyun Dai group to make a tour of Mt. Kumgang, according to a source.
Mt. Kumgang is so famous in the world that world people want to see it if only once.
Accordingly, it is illogical to attach "significance" to his Mt. Kumgang tour.
It was quite ridiculous among people that before he left for the north, the South Korean authorities ostentatiously advertised his tour as if it were a "trip of a very important person" and after he returned, they talked about "particular care from the north side."
What astonished people is that such deeds of the South Korean authorities and Pak Ji Won reflect their shamelessness as well as their imprudence.
As far as I know, owing to a resolute measure of the north side against the South Korean authorities' obstruction to the payment for tourism, the ship "Kumgang" boarded by Pak Ji Won had to stay all night in the east sea , south of the Military Demarcation Line and the tourists had to spend more than 10 hours in agony in the ship the next day.
Moreover, the ship was kept under detention for two hours before returning home late at night.
Unluckily enough, the program of the tourists was cut short by one day and, consequently, the Hyun Dai Business Group had to pay even gratuity to the tourists.
This is a due punishment to the South Korean authorities who have obtrusively poked their noses into the Mt. Kumgang tourism pushed by the Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee and the Hyun Dai group and have obstructed this non-governmental cooperation between the north and the south in every way from the beginning, crying that the Hyun Dai group failed to obtain the "right to use Mt. Kumgang for 30 years" from the north and that the "timetable for the right to use must be specified."
It is out of common sense that the South Korean authorities have prevented the Hyun Dai Business Group from paying expenses for the tour which it is obliged to do. What is all the more astonishing are the remarks of Pak Ji Won that the painful tourism was a "result of particular care from the north side" and that he attained his dream.
No one knows what Pak Ji Won dreamed of while staying in the high sea for more than 10 hours. But, it is certain that his talk about "dream" is nothing but a product of his fantastic "concept."
If he had a normal judgement as befits the "spokesman of Chongwadae," he should have apologized to the tourists for their painful trip caused by the South Korean authorities.
Nevertheless, he was busy with justifying his poor position instead of making an apology.
Indeed, he deserves the title of "liar of Chongwadae."
It appears that the South Korean authorities are imitating the argument of AH-Q that to murmur is better than to keep mum when one loses his face.
In my opinion as a journalist, it is fortunate that Pak Ji Won avoided worse luck by using the psychology of AH-Q.
Pak's shame warns the South Korean authorities that if they continue to poke their nose into non-governmental cooperation, they will sustain greater misfortune.
GI's monstrous murder denounced
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- A spokeswoman for the Korean Democratic Women's Union Central Committee made public a statement yesterday lashing out at the monstrous murder committed by soldiers of the U.S. aggression troops in South Korea recently.
The statement bitterly denounced the atrocities as unpardonable sexual violation and cruel murder betraying the bestiality of the U.S. troops, who have insulted, raped and killed lots of South Korean women, young and old, for more than half a century.
It is only in South Korea that with a new millennium at hand, women are still subject to medieval maltreatment and humiliation and cruelly murdered by the foreign troops, the statement said, and went on: The U.S. government should officially apologize to the Korean people and the world conscience for the outrageous crimes committed by GIs in South Korea and immediately punish the murderers.
If the South Korean rulers continue to do flunkeyist and treacherous acts, patronizing the GI murderers, they will face a severe punishment by history.

Present were the chairman and the secretary general of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea, the chairman of Kim Jong Il Cultural Centre in Colombia and other public figures.
The ceremony formed the preparatory committee and discussed a program for functions.
Second plenary meeting of Council for National Reconciliation
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The second plenary meeting of the Council for National Reconciliation was held here yesterday.
The plenary meeting reviewed activities of the council and discussed measures to implement the resolution of a joint meeting of the DPRK government, political parties and organisations.
Chairman Kim Yong Dae of the Council for National Reconciliation delivered a report, which was followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers summed up successes made in the work for national reconciliation and unity since the council was established early in last June and laid stress on realising wide-range contacts and negotiations with public organisations including different political, academic, press and religious circles and individuals of South Korea so as to adorn this year as a "year of national independence and great unity."
They said that the council would fulfil its responsibility and role as a non-governmental organisation for great national unity by actively fighting to implement the three principles of national reunification, make the "National Security Law" repealed and ensure free activities of pro-reunification patriotic organisations in South Korea.
S. Korea keeps mum about Japanese arrogance
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The Japanese diet last December adopted a resolution demanding that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries prohibit South Korean fishermen from catching specified fish even in waters in which joint fishing activities can be made, said a Seoul-based radio.
Nevertheless, the South Korean "government for the people" kept mum about this.
The resolution was taken when the Japanese diet passed the motion on the new "fisheries accord" the government signed with South Korea.
The South Korean "Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries" visited Tokyo at the end of January for business-like negotiations but made no protest against this.
New landmark measure
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- A joint meeting of the government, political parties and organisations of the DPRK set forth an important proposal.
Rodong Sinmun today runs a commentary in this regard.
The meeting adopted a letter proposing to the South Korean authorities and political parties, organisations and personages of various social strata at home and abroad to make this year a "year of national independence and great unity," strictly adhere to the three principles of national reunification and hold a wide-range dialogue between the north and south, including talks between authorities.
The commentary describes this as an evident manifestation of the firm will and noble patriotic stand of the DPRK to prevent the ever-growing danger of war and open a dramatic phase of national reunification in reliance upon the concerted efforts of the entire nation under the uplifted banner of national independence and great unity this year.
The news analyst says: The South Korean authorities' "cooperation" with the U.S. and Japanese aggressors in a campaign to isolate and stifle the fellow countrymen is a thrice-cursed treachery such as plunging the whole nation into a holocaust of a war.
They should work to shape the destiny of the nation hand in hand with the fellow countrymen instead of "cooperating" with outsiders. That is why the joint meeting proposed to make this year a "year of national independence and great unity" and launch into a grand march of national reunification in reliance upon the efforts and resourcefulness of the entire nation.
The South Korean authorities' "engagement policy towards the north" is a policy of confrontation with the north, which runs counter to the spirit of the three principles of national reunification.
Opposition to the three principles of national reunification is as good as denying all the provisions of the inter-Korean agreement based on those principles.
Only when efforts are made to sustain the principles is it possible to implement the agreement with credit and achieve national reconciliation and reunification.
Drawing on a serious lesson from the previous inter-Korean dialogue, the joint meeting set forth a series of top priorities that should be done by South Korea for a reunification-oriented dialogue.
No doubt, the fulfillment of the top priorities on the part of the South Korean authorities in the course of the first half of the year will lead to a wide-range dialogue, including inter-Korean high-level political talks, in the second half of the year, which will mark a turning-point in opening a new phase of national reunification.
Attitude toward the proposal of the DPRK for dramatic, reunification-oriented dialogue is a criterion distinguishing between stand on reunification and stand on division, between patriotic stand and traitorous stand.
The South Korean authorities should not turn their faces away from the proposal or interpret it from a selfish view, but accept it with sincerity.
U.S.murderers under fire
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- Women of Pyongyang met on Thursday to berate the U.S. aggression troops for having killed South Korean women in cold blood.
At the meeting Kim Kyong Ok, vice-chairwoman of the c.c., the Korean Democratic Women's Union, and other speakers stressed that a series of cases of brutal murder of women is reported from South Korea recently were the crimes which could be committed only by the U.S. aggressors.
They enumerated the murderous atrocities of the U.S., saying that since the U.S. occupied South Korea in 1945, not a day has passed without murder of innocent people by them.
These atrocities and outrages against the South Korean people are getting more rampant with each passing day under the patronage of the flunkeyist and traitorous authorities of South Korea, they said.
Stating such disasters, misfortunes and sufferings will continue as long as the U.S. and the group of flunkeyists and traitors are left alone, they urged women and other people in South Korea to wage a struggle for building an independent, new society.
Just and praiseworthy deed
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- "A ceremony of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) for declaring a struggle against the U.S. war preparations and for the U.S. troop pullout from South Korea and for the building of a reunified country based on confederacy" was recently held in Pyongyang, Seoul and Tokyo in the form of a joint meeting under an agreement of the north, south and overseas headquarters of Pomchonghakryon.
Minju Joson today describes this as demonstration of the strong will of youths and students at home and abroad to keep the U.S. from igniting a war and reunify the country independently and in a peaceful way and as a just and praiseworthy deed, which mirrors the tense situation prevailing in Korea and the desire of all the fellow countrymen for peace and peaceful reunification.
The news analyst of the paper says: The U.S. have left no stone unturned to swallow up the North Korea and to dominate the whole of Korea.
The obtaining situation proves that without efforts to foil the reckless war plan of the U.S., peace and security on the Korean peninsula cannot be preserved and the very existence of the nation may be in danger.
Youths and students at home and abroad will never retreat from the struggle against the U.S. and for independence, against fascism and for democracy and national reunification, but will fight, with concerted efforts, not yielding to appeasement, deception, threat and suppression on the part of the traitorous rulers.
First revolutionary song of Korea
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The Korean people love the immortal revolutionary song "the Star of Korea."
It was the first in the history of the Korean revolution to praise the leader.
The song reflected the jubilation and joy of the young Korean communists and people who acclaimed the outstanding leader for the first time in the history of thousands of years to whom they could entirely entrust the destinies of the fatherland, nation and revolution.
The young communists were the heroes of the first generation of the Korean revolution who fought against the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists.
They realised through their experiences that only when led by an intelligent leader, people could regain their country and creditably shape not only their destiny but also that of the nation.
Therefore, they named the President Kim Il Sung after the sun and eulogized him as the morning star of hope indicating a bright future of Korea.
The song was created by a young communist Kim Hyok and was widely disseminated from the late 1920s.
It was discovered in Juche 68 (1979).
The song has become very popular thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The multi-part revolutionary feature film "the Star of Korea" (10 parts) was produced on the basis of this song.
A slogan calling upon all the Korean people to follow young communists Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su was put forward.
And the spirit of living and struggling as faithful defenders of the leader as they did has been prevalent in the whole society.
"The Star of Korea" still serves as a valuable ideological and spiritual treasure which encourages the Korean people to have the intense loyalty to the leader.
Reinvestigation into legal circles' irregularities demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The Citizens' Federation for Democratic Society, the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and other organizations of South Korea made public statements on February 1 demanding reinvestigation into the legal circles' irregularities in Taejon in protest against the result of the prosecution's investigation, according to a radio report from Seoul.
The Citizens' Federation for Democratic Society demanded resignation of senior prosecutors, a hearing on the personnel affair related to prosecutors and the introduction of special prosecutor system, saying that it is a mockery of people to give a finishing touch to investigation in such a way as accepting resignations and disciplinary measures against a few prosecutors.
The Citizens' Federation for Economic Justice claimed that it is a violation of legal orders and justice for the lower officials' prosecution to punish only junior officials for irregularities without taking punitive actions against more guilty judges and prosecutors.
The South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and other organizations stated: it was just the same as hitting the small fry while letting the big ones go free that only a few junior prosecutors were punished without dismissing their seniors.
They also demanded full reinvestigation and thorough reform of judicial organs.
U.S. new war provocation moves under fire
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a commentary today calls attention to the intention and purpose of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in having drastically replaced agents of its South Korean branch, which is engaged in espionage and intrigues against the DPRK, with experts on Korean affair.
The news analyst says:
It is the U.S. trite method to get overheated in intelligence and smear campaigns against the warring partner before igniting a war.
The U.S. is about to penetrate into the DPRK and spy@out its state and military secrets in real earnest and, on this basis, ignite a second Korean war.
It is employing all means and methods to destroy Korean socialism. The U.S. new war provocation moves have been further intensified in all aspects.
The United States is not honestly implementing the Geneva agreement because it is making an attempt to unilaterally abrogate the agreement, while away the time and unleash a war.
U.S. peremptory decision and arbitrariness should never be allowed
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The United States, obsessed by expansive delusion that the U.S. stands unchallenged in the world and it can do anything if it has a will, is taking such a haughty attitude as claiming there should be a world order which serves the U.S. only, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
It goes on:
The U.S. peremptory decision and arbitrariness find expression in its ignoring the United Nations and violating the sovereignty of independent countries.
The U.S.-led allied forces' attack@on Iraq was a most wanton violation of the UN charter and elementary international norms.
Random military attacks on Panama, Iraq, Somalia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan and Sudan were indicative of the ferocity and arrogance of the U.S. policy of aggression which has now reached the extremes.
The U.S. plans to attack Yugoslavia on the plea of the Kosovo problem, and it is threatening to provoke a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. peremptory decision and arbitrariness gives rise to an unbroken chain of unexpected complicated problems worldwide, posing a grave threat to global peace and security.
That is a challenge to international justice and a disturbance of peace.
Without checking the U.S. peremptory decision and arbitrariness, it is unthinkable to defend international justice and global peace and security.
The world people should see through the real nature of the U.S. military aggression undertaken on the plea of "preserving peace," oppose it and put an end to such an arrogant attitude of the U.S. as considering the UN as dead as a dodo.

Jong Ju Yong, who is on a visit to Pyongyang, handed the gift to chairman Kim Yong Sun of the Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee today.
Kim Yong Sun meets Jong Ju Yong and his party
