Overall drop of "operation plan 5027" called for
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The south, north and overseas headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) held a meeting on February 12 to vow to struggle against the U.S. war moves on the Korean peninsula, to get nuclear weapons and the U.S. troops withdrawn from South Korea and to build a reunified country by confederacy formula and issued a joint statement saying that no one in the world can block a patriotic struggle for the country's reunification. The statement recalled that the U.S., Japan and the anti-reunification "government" of South Korea are resorting to reckless war moves against the DPRK, clamoring about "suspected underground nuclear facility" and "missile threat." It went on: The U.S. should completely withdraw the "operation plan 5027" of aggression and sincerely implement the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework as it is committed to the north. A peace agreement between the DPRK and the U.S. should be signed as soon as possible and the U.S. troops and nuclear weapons in South Korea, sources of war, should be withdrawn at an early date, for a lasting stability and peace on the Korean peninsula.
S. Korean chief executive anxious to invite Japanese "Emperor"
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The present South Korean chief executive in an interview with the head of Tokyo Shimbun said on Wednesday it was "undesirable" to postpone Japanese "Emperor's" visit to Seoul beyond the year 2002, feeling very anxious to invite the Japanese "ghost" to South Korea at an early date, according to a report of Tokyo Shimbun. The Japanese side thinks "there still remains an obstacle" in the way of the "Emperor's" visit to South Korea in view of strong anti-Japanese feelings of South Koreans, but the South Korean chief executive insisted "there was no big obstacle," the paper said. Kim Dae Jung is such a man who can not even guess people's anti-Japanese feelings. No sooner had he come to power than he invited the Japanese "Emperor" to visit South Korea as his first "protocol work." During his visit to Japan last October he reinvited the Japanese "Emperor" to visit South Korea. He renewed this invitation while meeting the head of the newspaper. He will certainly face denunciation from the entire nation if he brings the Japanese "Emperor" to South Korea, which the successive authority rulers did not dare to do.

Guidelines for building KPA into ideologically powerful army
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- "On Improving and Strengthening Propaganda and Agitation Work Within the People's Army," a work published by General Secretary Kim Jong Il on Feb. 14, Juche 68 (1979) is of great theoretical and practical importance in building the People's Army into a powerful army which is fully prepared politically and ideologically and which has strong faith.
Colonel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Ryol stresses this in an article contributed to Rodong Sinmun today on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the publication of the work.
The author further says: The work deals with all issues related to displaying politico-ideological superiority of the KPA such as strengthening education in loyalty to the leader and education in party policy, revolutionary tradition and socialist patriotism and bringing the unity between the army and people and between officers and men into full play.
The ideas, theories and policies set out in the work have proved their great vitality, justness and attraction in practice.
The whole army, replete with the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, has been fully prepared to be a death defying corps determined to resolutely fight in defence of the leader and has been strengthened and developed into a revolutionary army which firmly defends the working-class principles and the interest of the revolution.
The KPA has grown to be ranks of human bombs to defend the headquarters of the revolution with their lives.
All the servicemen from veteran fighters to young soldiers are firmly resolved to become human bombs in safeguarding the Supreme Commander.
The KPA units have persistently and positively carried out revolutionary and class education, with result that all the soldiers have become tiger-like ones who will fight the imperialists to the end.
The KPA has conducted ideological education in a revolutionary way as anti-Japanese did.
The KPA officers and men will invariably take the ideas and theories of Kim Jong Il as their guidelines and reliably defend the revolutionary cause of Juche.
Rodong Sinmun on anti-DPRK rackets in Japan
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The Defence Agency of Japan organized recently a "council for coping with major incidents" allegedly in face of "the DPRK's missile threats" while the Liberal-Democratic Party, the Liberal Party and the diet of Japan are also setting up similar organizations. Worse still, the Japanese reactionaries are taking one "counteraction" after another, crying that the "law on the self-defence forces" must be revised and that a wartime system be established at an early date. Commenting on this fact, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today says: The Japanese reactionaries are crying out for the "establishment of security posture " and "wartime system" under the pretext of "missile threats" from the DPRK.
It is not Japan but the DPRK which is exposed to missile threats.
Japan has developed, produced and deployed a lot of missiles. On top of it, a large number of U.S. missiles are deployed in Japan proper and Okinawa. Leveled at the DPRK, these missiles are fully ready to go off any moment. Nevertheless, the Japanese reactionaries, in an attempt to attain their design for overseas aggression at any cost, insist that Japan's "security" is being threatened by the DPRK.
The DPRK is the first target of overseas aggression by the Japanese reactionaries.
If they persist in their frantic anti-DPRK rackets, military conflicts will unavoidably occur between the DPRK and Japan. Once the Japanese reactionaries wield a militaristic sword against us, the DPRK will answer it with an annihilating blow.
