Hostile forces warned against use of international humanitarian aid for dishonest political purpose
Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the flood damage rehabilitation committee of the DPRK released a statement on March 15 as regards recent ill-boding moves to use international humanitarian aid to the DPRK for a dishonest political purpose.
Typical of it was a recent program of the third channel of French television which slandered the socialist system in North Korea, the spokesman said, and continued:
In the program those who betrayed the nation after committing high crimes defamed the system in North Korea and painted a wrong picture of its economic situation in accordance with the trite script made by the plotters of South Korea.
Especially, some non-governmental organisation members, including those of the "Action Contre La Faim" (ACT) involved in humanitarian aid activity in North Korea in the television appearance groundlessly faulted arrangements for observers at aid distribution. They went So far as to vilify the DPRK over a political issue which had nothing to do with the aid.
The vicious anti-DPRK diatribe came at a time when the South Korean intelligence service was zealously spreading a rumour that three million people died of starvation in North Korea in the past four years, in a bid to frustrate international humanitarian aid to it. So, the recent anti-DPRK campaign cannot be considered to be a separate one at all. It proves that with a view to using international humanitarian aid for the "disintegration and overthrow" of the system in North Korea hostile elements are now turning to an extremely despicable means.
We are exerting every possible effort to make sure that international humanitarian aid is effectively used for stable living of the people in the afflicted areas and rehabilitation in those areas and rendering every sincere cooperation to aid organisations in their performance.
As already clarified, the DPRK has always adhered to the principled stand that it welcomes any aid, purely humanitarian, but it will not accept any aid with political conditionally meant to serve a sinister aim.
We will never pardon those who dare vilify the political and socialist systems in North Korea, whoever they may be and whatever the reason.
The responsibility for consequences of the recent smear campaign will lie with those who orchestrated the farce and those involved in it.

U.S. blamed for defying UN
Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- The United States is trying to turn the United Nations into an organisation in which it stands unchallenged, an organisation that acts under its orders, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed article.
The article came in the wake of the disclosure of the fact that the U.S. planted agents of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the united nations special committee in charge of dismantling Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and used the committee for spying on Iraq.
The UN is the world body whose principle is impartiality and justice and so no privilege should be given to a specific country in it, the article says, and goes on:
The U.S., describing itself as a "giant in the world," acts its own way, defying the UN.
The U.S. engagement in espionage through abuse of UN efforts for arms inspection in Iraq clearly shows how it looks down upon the world body.
The U.S. behaves with overbearance, utterly disregarding the UN its misbehavior undermines confidence in the UN among its member nations.
It is the vicious habit of the U.S. that defies and fools the UN. the U.S. puts pressure on other countries by abusing the name of the UN, if necessary and acts as it desires, defying the UN.
The arrogance of the U.S. deserves punishment by the international community.

The five-point policy for great national unity set forth by Kim Jong Il is a highly important guideline and banner of national unity and reunification which clearly indicate the basic principles, ideological basis and targets of great national unity and tasks and ways to put them into effect.

Korean people's cause supported
Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- A joint statement supporting the Korean people's struggle for building a powerful nation and the reunification of the country was adopted at the third symposium of American regional political parties on building a new society which was held in Mexico on the occasion of the 57th birthday of Kim Jong Il.
The joint statement extended support to the firm stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean People's Army stating that they will meet with an annihilating blow the challenge of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces through a statement issued by the spokesman of the KPA general staff last year, and urged the U.S. warmongers to stop the war moves of aggression.
It expressed the belief that the Korean people singleheartedly united around Kim Jong Il would adorn this year as a year of a great turning-point in building a powerful nation.
It also urged the South Korean authorities to respond to the proposal for national reunification set forth at the joint meeting of the DPRK government, political parties and organizations held on February 3 and to immediately clear all institutional obstacles lying in the way of reunification.
It called upon all progressive parties of the world to turn out in a solidarity movement for Korean reunification.
Deceptive renaming
Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- The "National Congress for New Politics" (NCNP), one of the ruling parties of South Korea, on Thursday decided to rename "State Human Rights Committee" (tentative name) "People's Human Rights Committee," a Seoul-based radio said.
The "NCNP" announced that all the nine members of the committee would be appointed by the "President" while crying that "it would be a neutral organization independent of the 'State'."
However, nobody will be stunned by such renaming by the ruling quarters, who are maintaining and enforcing the anti-human right "National Security Law" and "law-abiding oath system" while elevating and enlarging the repressive organs.
It is a cock-and-bull story to vociferate about "neutrality" of the committee, which will be run by those appointed by the "President."
