He stated that the scientists and technicians of the agricultural domain should make active research into technologies and farming methods suited to climatic and topographical characters.
The persimmon output, he noted, should be increased and fish be supplied to the farmers through extensive fish culture. S. Korean authorities hit for abusing songs
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- The propaganda department of the central committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) issued a statement on June 21 in connection with the fact that songs created by Korean poets and composers and sung among people in the past are being publicized as done by others in South Korea owing to the moves of the successive rulers to obliterate the national culture, Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation reported.
Recalling that more than 1,000 popular songs created by writers, composers and singers in the north have been distorted and abused by others in South Korea, the statement said: This is attributable to the successive South Korean authorities' anti-national policy hostile toward the north and their moves to obliterate the national culture.
Such misuse of the popular songs created in the past years that should be handed down to posterity is indeed a treacherous act unprecedented in history.
The South Korean authorities should properly use the names of authors of the songs that are being abused by others, deeply repent of the crimes they have committed so far and make an apology for them and compensate those concerned and their families.

U.S. and Japan lambasted for escalating tensions in Korea
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary denounces the U.S. and Japan for egging the South Korean authorities on to provoke a war following the armed clash in waters off the west coast of Korea.
The commentary says: Some days ago, the United States officially inaugurated the "anti-North Korea intelligence and watch system" called "WATCHCON-2" and is massing huge aggression forces in the area surrounding the Korean peninsula under the pretext of coping with the "contingency." Japan is also "closely watching" the confrontation between the north and the south and "supporting and praising" rash actions of South Korea.
All facts clearly indicate that the recent incident was by no means accidental but a premeditated and intentional military provocation by the U.S., Japan and the South Korean authorities. The recent clash did not lead to an all-out war entirely thanks to the patience and self-restraint exercised by us who love peace.
The U.S. is well advised to immediately stop instigating the South Korean authorities to provoke a war, keenly aware that there is a limit to our patience.
The commentary demands Japan stop dancing to the U.S. tune blindly and the South Korean authorities discontinue their rash acts intended to sacrifice the country and the nation to meet their masters' dirty ambitions.
Leader's whole life dedicated to people
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- It was the President Kim Il Sung's supreme goal, task and immovable iron rule to devotedly serve the people. The President worked out any line and policy in such a way as to fully reflect the desires and wishes of the people, saying what people liked was good.
The law on agrarian reform promulgated after the liberation of the country in august 1945 reflected the age-old desire of the peasants who had wished to till their own land to their satisfaction, and the policy on the socialist agricultural co-operativization was also based on the people's desires and wishes. All the popular policies now in force in the DPRK including the complete abolition of taxation, an 11-year compulsory free education system and the system of the universal free medical treatment are the result of the President's devoted service to the people.
More than 550,000 km covered by the President to give on-the-spot guidance is associated with tireless efforts he made for the happiness of the people, while mixing with them all his life. The President did not mind any tiring trip to visit wherever people live and work. The number of his visits to every nook and corner of the country was more than 8,000. His on-the-spot guidance reached valleys of Mt. Paektu, villages near the military demarcation line, ports on the east coast, islets in the west sea, compounds of industrial establishments and fields of farms.
When his car got bogged down in the mud on his way of on-the-spot guidance, he personally pushed it and he even took an ear of boiled fresh corn as a meal in a running car. He worked heart and soul to give the best things to the people. The President relieved fatigue only when he brought joy to people and relaxed only when he made them happy. The credit for the prosperity of the country and the people's happiness goes to the on-the-spot guidance given by him without rest.
President Kim Il Sung's life was, indeed, a brilliant one of the people's leader, whose life was characterized by his warm love and devoted service to the people.
