Yun Isang Music Institute
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Yun Isang Music Institute is a comprehensive music research centre that studies and plays mainly music pieces created by Yun Isang and the traditional Korean music, classical music and famous songs of different countries including those in Europe.
The institute operating at the Pyongyang International House of Culture was founded on September 27, Juche 73 (1984).
The institute houses Yun Isang music, traditional Korean music and foreign music research rooms, a creation room and editing and publication departments.
The Yun Isang music research room makes researches into the technique to play both the traditional Korean music and European music on a stereophonic basis.
The traditional Korean music research room is tasked to discover, study and preserve the heritage of Korean music.
The foreign music research room collects and selects classical music of European countries and typical foreign folk songs and famous songs through a systematic study of them.
The institute is staffed with a 150-member orchestra band and scores of part-time researchers.
The institute publishes the magazine "music world".
The state organizes the Yun Isang concert each year.
Put on the concert's stage are such works as symphonic poems and cantatas created by Yun Isang.
The Yun Isang concert and commemoration concerts on various subjects have taken place 17 times till now.
In November Juche 87 (1998), the Pyongyang Yun Isang Concert for Reunification was held along with the symposium on Yun Isang music.
The institute is now preoccupied with the study of new technique of execution and performances.
Concerts are being regularly held four times each month, to the applause of audience.
The institute is operating at the state's expense.
Revenge-vowing meeting of students of Kim Il Sung University
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- A revenge-vowing meeting of the students of Kim Il Sung University took place on Wednesday at a time when the voices denouncing the provocations committed by the South Korean authorities in the West Sea of Korea are becoming louder day by day.
The speakers said that the U.S. imperialists and the South Korean warhawks are driving the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of war by continuing to commit naval provocations. This is a premeditated and criminal move to destroy our socialist system by force of arms, they noted.

Vice minister-level meeting in Beijing
Pyongyang , July 1 (KCNA) -- The third north-south vice minister-level meeting was held in Beijing at 3 p.m. today.
The head of our side at the meeting, citing detailed data, said that the south side refused to admit the due responsibility for the incident of armed provocations in the West Sea of Korea and make an apology to our side and thus led the meeting to a stalemate.
He raised the following epochal proposal to break the deadlock of the meeting:
Firstly, the south side should give our side an acceptable answer of any form as regards the incident of armed provocations in the West Sea.
Secondly, the south side should hand over to our side the plan to ship 100,000 tons of remaining fertilizers as the north and the south already agreed at the Beijing contact, and when the first ship is sent, the fourth meeting should be held and the basic problem be discussed.
The south side, far from expressing understanding toward our side's epochal proposal and showing an affirmative response to it, asserted that they could not give the plan to the north, contrary to the agreement already reached between the north and the south.
Our side expressed regret at this attitude of the south side and positively proposed to hold a contact of chief delegates of both sides.
At the contact our side showed the south side a statement on a recent serious incident caused by the south side by letting an insane person get on our nerves through mass media and demanded the South Korean authorities give a responsible answer.
The south side avoided giving an answer.
The date of the next meeting will be fixed when the south side is prepared to give a responsible answer to our side's epochal proposal and statement and notifies our side about this.
