Memorandum on "Northern Limit Line" distributed

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The August 24 memorandum of the Panmunjom mission of the Korean People's Army on the unreasonableness of the "Northern Limit Line" was distributed as an official document S/1999/925 of the UN Security Council on August 27.

Withdrawal of U.S. troops from S. Korea demanded

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland today issued a statement on the lapse of 54 years since the U.S. troops' occupation of South Korea on Sept. 8, Juche 34 (1945).
The statement strongly urged the South Korean authorities to clearly state their will to pull the U.S. troops out of South Korea, put forth a timeframe for their withdrawal and repeal the "treaty and agreements" which "legalized" the U.S. troops' presence in South Korea.
If the South Korean authorities take a practical measure to implement the AFORE-said three steps and turn to an anti-U.S. and pro-north patriotic road, not a traitorous pro-U.S. and anti-north path, we will recognize them as independent beings with whom we can negotiate and join hands to pave a true way for the nation to follow, the statement said, and went on:
What the U.S. troops have done in South Korea over the past 54 years is nothing but patronizing the South Korean fascist dictatorship and stepping up the moves to provoke a new war while encroaching upon the sovereignty of the Korean nation and blocking the reunification of the country.
The present chief executive of South Korea paved the way for the U.S. forces' permanent presence in South Korea, asserting that the U.S. troops should remain there even after the reunification. This is the most hideous flunkeyist treachery committed by him.
The danger of a new war will not be removed from Korea nor can peace and reunification of the nation be achieved as long as the U.S. troops remain in South Korea.
The statement earnestly called upon all the fellow countrymen in South Korea and overseas to undertake a vigorous nationwide movement for the U.S. troops' pullback from South Korea.

U.S. urged to push ahead with LWR project in responsible manner

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- If the construction of the Light Water Reactor (LWR) project is delayed and the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework breaks, the U.S. will be held wholly responsible for it, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary blasting the remarks made by a spokesman for the U.S. State Department that the U.S. i111111to blame for the delay of the LWR construction.
The LWR construction is an unavoidable commitment of the U.S. under the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework, the commentary observes, and goes on:
The U.S. is committed to build LWR and hand them over to us as a simultaneous measure in return for freezing our graphite-moderated reactor and its related facilities.
Therefore, it is the U.S. which is to be fully held accountable for the LWR construction.
How KEDO member nations will act also depends on the U.S. attitude.
However, the U.S. is assuming such an attitude as insisting that it is not to be held responsible for the delay of the construction as other KEDO nations procrastinate the project.
This proves that the U.S. is not firm in its determination to complete it in a responsible manner.
We make it clear once again that the U.S. should not consider the LWR construction as a gift to the DPRK.
If the U.S. shows sincerity in implementing the agreed framework, we will reciprocate it, but, if not, we will go ahead with our plan.

He said the world saw through her heroic deed Korea rising up like a phoenix despite difficulties and ordeals and dashing towards a new century.
Her triumph over renowned athletes at the world women's marathon race is a victory of the DPRK's ideology, faith and will and of the world progressive people, he noted.
It is the fruition of the great leader Kim Jong Il's wise leadership and the Korean people's unbreakable faith and will that she could become "queen of marathon" in the championships despite continued vicious economic blockade of the imperialists, he said, and continued:
Jong Song Ok breasted the tape today. Sooner or later, the world will see the DPRK emerging a powerful nation.

Brilliant commander has trained world's "queen of marathon"

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Korea has greeted with immense joy Jong Song Ok, the queen of miracle in the 20th century.
Seeing her waving to the cheers of such a huge crowd and her majestic appearance as a world title holder carrying the spirit and stamina of the Korean nation, people are paying deep tribute to General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the brilliant commander, who provided this world-startling victory.
He has trained Jong Song Ok, a daughter of Korea, who appeared like a comet in the international game and startled the world.
He said long ago that as the Korean nation has endurance and strong will, it is quite possible to capture world marathon championship if it is developed and it is necessary to encourage and rapidly develop marathon to this end. And he has paid deep attention to all details including selection of marathoners and their training and life.
Jong took a fancy to running from her childhood.
Her uncommon hobby produced a sprout of skill and came into full bloom under the care of the Worker's Party of Korea.
Kim Jong Il has shown all loving care and solicitude for her so that she could become a promising marathoner at a sports school and a sports group.
She has cultivated fighting spirit and perseverance every day, practicing unique training and running methods indicated by him at the training grounds provided by him.
She ran more than 40 km at the women's marathon race of the 7th World Athletics Championships and crossed the finish line by rushing at the top of her speed in the last straight course to startle the world. This was not attributable only to the perseverance and the capacity to change her speed practiced by her in daily training.
"A hot weather was a heavy burden for me. But I used to screw up my strength and courage, yearning for the respected comrade Kim Jong Il who would wait for a report on my victory. He loves our sportsman most and rejoices over their successes in games more than anybody else. Herein lies the source of strength that enabled me to attain the championship today."
This is a clear answer given to the world by Jong, a daughter of Korea, upon becoming a world marathon champion.

Nation's pride

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today says the emergence of the world's "queen of marathon" in Korea is an auspicious event in the history of the nation and a pride of the nation in the era of the great Kim Jong Il.
The paper calls for learning from the fighting spirit of athlete Jong Song Ok.
Under the title " Nation's Pride", the political essay refers to the pride of Kim Il Sung's nation who immensely rejoices over Jong Song Ok's coming first in the women's marathon race at the 7th World Athletics Championships.
    It goes on:
The victory of Jong Song Ok, who appeared as a comet in the world, is an honor of Kim Il Sung's nation and the victory of Juche Korea which brilliantly decorated the 20th century.
That is a victory won by the Korean people in '90s following their victories in the anti-Japanese war and the life and death battles fought against the U.S.
It is tantamount to the nation's demonstration of the spirit of Juche Korea through the launch of the second satellite.
It is thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Il that Jong Song Ok could win such a world startling victory.
"I ran with yearning for Kim Jong Il, the great leader of our people. This was the source of my strength that greatly encouraged me today." In this spirit, Jong ran with miraculous courage, rocking this planet with a storm of cheers.
Marshal Kim Jong Il is the man who stirred up the heart of Jong Song Ok. This is the general tone of world public opinion toward the world's queen of marathon.
Ardent worship for her leader was secret of her victory and matchless willpower with which she could cross the finish line before any other runners despite a high temperature of 35 degrees centigrade.
The political essay recalls that the Worker's Party of Korea put forward the militant slogan "Let us learn from fighting spirit of Jong Song Ok, who demonstrated the honor of the country to the world " the essay calls upon all the people to defy economic blockade and pressure and vigorously accelerate the march at a canter on a steed to build a powerful nation and thus display courage and a staunch spirit like Jong Song Ok.

S. Korean "PM's" trip to Japan denounced

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dismisses South Korean "Prime Minister" Kim Jong Pil's Japan visit as a humiliating and flunkeyist trip intended to commit more crimes against the nation.
Kim Jong Pil, at the "talks" with his Japanese counterpart, begged for Japan's "cooperation in policy" against "relaunch of missile" by the DPRK and asked Akihito to visit South Korea. Worse still, he blared that Japan "should lead Asia."
Such moves were motivated by a criminal intention to defame and stifle the fellow countrymen with the help of the Japanese and U.S. masters. They are as good as an act of undisguisedly encouraging Japan's moves to become a military power, the paper in a commentary says, and goes on:
During his tour of Japan, the traitor instigated the Japanese militarists to promote reinvasion of Korea and begged for their "cooperation" in a fratricidal war. This proves that the "people-veiled" rulers of South Korea are a group of traitors staking their fate on flunkeyism and treachery, the rubbish that should be thrown away by the nation.
The South Korean ruling quarters, the flunkeyists and traitors ignorant of national dignity and interests, will face a stern punishment by history and the nation.
