DPRK's efforts for building powerful nation supported
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- The DPRK whose people advance with reliance on their strength in any adversity is sure to become a prosperous and powerful country, said the secretary general of the Italian Institute of International Relations, Giancarlo Elia Valori, who visited the DPRK.
He noted that the Korean people are replete with high enthusiasm to fully discharge their mission for the times and revolution with beautiful dream and sure confidence in the future of the country.
It is the indomitable spirit and unshakable will of the Korean people to turn the country into a prosperous and powerful country by their own efforts at any cost although their way is thorny, he said, adding:
The Korean people have finished the "arduous march" and created a springboard of turn for prosperity and development of the country through the forced march of confidence and will.
He stressed that the 21st century would be a new century of hope and glory in which the DPRK will brilliantly shine all over the world as a powerful nation under the great politics and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Suppression of pro-reunification figures slammed
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- A few days ago, the South Korean authorities arrested Han Tong Gun, director of the secretariat of the "southern alliance of Kyonggi Province " under the "National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification" (Jongukryonhap) and two other persons by the notorious "National Security Law" on charges that they met without their approval figures of the north overseas to hold a meeting on reunification and discuss the issue of withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea and proposal on achieving national reunification by a confederal formula.
Rodong sinmun today in a signed commentary assails this as an anti-national and anti-reunification criminal move to check the tendency toward alliance with communism and the north and reunification now growing strong in South Korea as the days go by.
It is an entirely just, natural and patriotic deed for the pro-reunification and patriotic figures of South Korea to have come out to achieve reunification through contacts with fellow countrymen in the north and solidarity and alliance with them, the commentary notes, and goes on:
It is quite clear that the South Korean authorities do not want national reconciliation and reunification.
Their suppression of figures of Jongukryonhap more saliently reveals the anti-national, anti-reunification nature of the ruling quarters of the "people's government who are doggedly pursuing only confrontation and division, going against the desire of the South Korean people for alliance with communism and the north and reunification.
Public sentiments are the will of heaven. Therefore, those who are going against the sentiments for reunification will not be safe.
KCNA on war outburst of S. Korean "Defence Minister"
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- "Defence Minister" of South Korea Jo Song Thae in an "interview" with Choogang Daily on Sept. 13 reportedly raised a hue and cry over "provocation" of someone and threatened to "check and repel it at all cost."
His outburst revealed once again a bellicose attempt to negate at whatever cost the Military Demarcation Line at the West Sea of Korea proclaimed in the special communique of the general staff of the Korean People's Army and spark the second bloody clash at the west sea.
It is nobody's secret that the June incident at the west sea which drove the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula to the worst phase was a premeditated armed provocation undertaken by the South Korean military at the instigation of the U.S. warhawks in a bid to launch aggression on the north and it was orchestrated by Jo Song Thae.
It is entirely intolerable for the top-class criminal like him who earned an ill-fame as a warhawk by orchestrating the west sea incident to repeatedly vociferate about the non-existent "provocation" of someone.
By nature he is a heinous warmonger always affected with war hysteria.
Soon after taking his office as "Defence Minister " in late may this year, he "inspected" the headquarters of the three services of the army where he called for "establishing a perfect combat posture" to cope with an "all-out war" and a month later he orchestrated the west sea armed incident as the first scenario in the capacity of new "Defence Minister."
Yet, he is ballyhooing about "provocation" and "all-out surprise attack" of someone just like a thief crying "stop chief." This sheer sophism can never be tolerated.
If the enemy breaches the Military Demarcation Line at the west sea proclaimed by us, we will mercilessly wipe him out.
That will be neither "provocation" nor "surprise attack."
It will be an exercise of our legitimate right to self-defence.
The South Korean warhawks including Jo Song Thae are now inciting reckless confrontation with the north while letting loose a spate of provocative remarks slandering our just proclamation of the Military Demarcation Line at the west sea, but it is little different from a dog barking against the moon.
The warhawks should ponder over the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by their reckless anti-north confrontation moves and refrain from committing more serious crimes against the nation.
Japanese women call for normalized Japan-DPRK relations
Tokyo, September 14 (KNS-KCNA) -- A press conference was called here on Monday as regards the fact that Japanese women have decided to visit the DPRK and issued an appeal demanding the opening of Japan-DPRK diplomatic relations.

Referring to the three-point principled stand toward the present DPRK-Japan relations, which was clarified in the DPRK government's statement, the appeal said:
The Japanese government should lift sanctions taken against the DPRK with outcries over "missile launch," immediately resume negotiations for the normalization of Japan-DPRK relations and create an atmosphere for reconciliation between the two countries and peace in northeast Asia.

In the subsequent period, Kim Jong Il saw his jugglery several times and gave detailed instructions on various aspects of performance from choosing themes to ways of representation. At the same time, he made sure that Kim Kwang Sok's brothers were trained to be future jugglers.
Kim Kwang Sok and his brothers became jugglers under his loving care.
Over the last decade they have produced and put on stage hundreds of magic pieces including "stabbing," "magic inside water and fire" and "treasure box."
They succeeded in creating and staging such peculiar pieces as magic drama "faith of soldier" and magic films "operation document" and "scout."

Popular policy on dental treatment
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- A modern general dental hospital is now under construction on the Taedong River-side.
Covering a plottage of over 28,000 square metres, the hospital will have all appliances and equipment for prevention and treatment including a diagnosis ward, outpatients' ward and sick-ward. When completed, it will make a great contribution to the promotion of people's health.
All the health policies now in force in the DPRK serve that purpose.
The dental prevention hospitals are found in every province (municipality) of Korea while the dental branch hospitals are housed by city and county people's hospitals across the country.
For example, the modern dental prevention hospital in South Hamgyong Province has well-equipped 170 treatment rooms and sick-rooms, tens of thousands of medical appliances and first-aid medical equipment of over 600 kinds.
There are in the dental branch hospitals treatment rooms, preventive check-up rooms, dental prosthesis rooms and other professional rooms.
All ri people's hospitals and dong clinics which are far from city and county seats have their own dentists.
The President Kim Il Sung established a well-organized system of preventive dental treatment in the capital city and local areas.
The President gave instructions six times as regards the dental treatment of the people on November 19 and 20, Juche 82 (1993) alone.
He acquainted himself in detail with dental treatment and dental prosthesis and took relevant measures.
He examined new all-purpose dental treatment equipment made by the Myohyangsan Medical Appliance Factory on June 25, Juche 83 (1994) before his demise and made sure that it was sent to all the dental hospitals across the country.
