Huichon Revolutionary Site
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The Huichon Revolutionary Site is located in Huichon city, Jagang Province, the nation's leading machine-tool producer.
The site is associated with immortal feats of the President Kim Il Sung. He came to Huichon and instructed workers to build a machine-tool producing base foreseeing the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-july 1953).
There are a statue of the President and a historic monument, revolutionary museum and open-air revolutionary sites.
The Huichon Revolutionary Museum has 22 rooms which are devoted to more than 800 photos, data and historic relics telling the visitors that the President visited Huichon on more than 20 occasions and gave on-site guidance to over 90 units and General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited several places of Huichon on a guidance mission on 7 occasions.
A room has a mock-up of 10,000 machine-tools showing how the President kindled the torch of a new technical innovation and led the production of machine-tools from February, Juche 60 (1971) to April, Juche 61 (1972). Projected "foal eagle" war maneuvers
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today dismisses the projected "foal eagle" joint military exercises in South Korea as a test operation to militarily threaten and stifle the DPRK.
Though these maneuvers are described by the United States as an "annual event," the exercises are to be participated in by its troops present in South Korea, a naval task force of the U.S. 7th fleet and huge combatant forces in the Asia-Pacific region and the U.S. mainland and hundreds of thousands of armed forces of the "ROK".
The projected U.S. war maneuvers are a clear indication that it is unwilling to implement the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework and ease tension on the Korean peninsula and ensure peace there, the commentary says, and goes on:
There is no doubt that the war maneuvers will lead the situation on the peninsula to a danger point and aggravate the DPRK-U.S. belligerent relations.
Their madcap saber-rattling compels us to heighten vigilance and further strengthen our self-defensive posture.
The United States must be wholly responsible for the adverse impact the war maneuvers will have on the situation on the Korean peninsula and the DPRK-U.S. relations.
Classic work that calls for carrying forward tradition of WPK
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- 17 years have passed since General Secretary Kim Jong Il made public the classic work "the Worker's Party of Korea is a Juche-Type Revolutionary Party which Inherited the Glorious Tradition of the DIU".
The work, published on October 17, Juche 71 (1982), comprehensively clarified the character and mission of the WPK that has inherited the tradition of the "DIU" and clearly laid down issues of principle in building a revolutionary party in our times.
The idea of adhering to the tradition of Juche occupies an important place among the ideas and theories expounded in the work. To steadily glorify the WPK as a party which is carrying forward the tradition of Juche by upholding the idea and theory of the President Kim Il Sung and the revolutionary achievements accomplished by him, and carrying out the party construction and activities as the President did is the prevailing idea of this work.
Rodong Sinmun yesterday in a signed article dedicated to this day said that the WPK is now displaying its might as a revolutionary party which is steadfastly carrying forward the tradition of Juche and as a dignified and authoritative party shining with the august name of the President.
It went on:
The Marshal Kim Jong Il's leadership over the adherence to the tradition of Juche is wise in that he is steering the party construction and activities guided by the President's idea and theory and firmly upholding the achievements and experience gained by him in the struggle.
Noting that all the activities of the WPK are aimed to uphold the achievements and experience of the President, the article stressed: It is the result of the wise leadership of the Marshal Kim Jong Il that the WPK has grown to be a revolutionary party which is carrying forward the President's achievements 100 per cent.
KCNA assails S. Korean "government's" worst bugging
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Such human right abuse as violating privacy of communications has become more rampant since the appearance of the self-proclaimed "people's government" in South Korea.
Over 8,700 bugging cases were reportedly committed by the South Korean prosecution, police, "Intelligence Service" and military investigation organ last year and at least 1,700 cases of them bugged by use of cellular phones.
More than 500 cases of bugging by these phones have been perpetrated in the first half of the year alone.
This eloquently proves that the "government" in South Korea is the world's worst perpetrator of bugging of communications.
The violation of communication privacy glaringly reveals a total absence of democracy in South Korea, a barren land of human rights as it is a breach of elementary freedom of correspondence.
The authorities of the "Intelligence Service", "defence security command", the prosecution and police regularly wire-tap all the telephone messages and provide or receive information about private communications.
Under this alarming situation the people cannot freely communicate with each other.
The rulers of the "people's government" are fully accountable for this dreadful atmosphere where one can neither say nor hear the truth as every movement of the people is watched and investigated and their communication is bugged by a dense network of such suppressive machines as the "Intelligence Service", prosecutor office and police.
This year, they have purchased 175 communication bugging equipment and delivered them to the repressive machines.
The "people's government" clamors about "guarantee of human rights" whenever an opportunity presents itself, but nothing has changed and conspiratorial plots against the progressive forces and human right abuses have become more pronounced.
They are advertising that "solution" has been sought, talking nonsense that "checking" and "punishment" of perpetrators of bugging by individuals or organizations would prevent human right abuses. But this is nothing but a window-dressing to hide their true colors as the worst perpetrators of bugging.
The South Korean rulers should immediately stop their dastardly bugging of communication, a most serious violation of democracy and human rights.
Foundation day of DIU observed
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- 73 years have passed since the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), the first revolutionary vanguard organization of Juche type, was formed in Korea.
The Worker's Party of Korea regards the DIU as its roots and its formation as the new starting-point and origin of the Korean communist movement and the Korean revolution.
It was not until the President Kim Il Sung's creation of the DIU on October 17, Juche 15 (1926) that the Korean people greeted a new era of waging their revolutionary struggle on the principle of independence.
The President wrote in his reminiscences that the immediate task of the DIU was to defeat Japanese imperialism and achieve the liberation and independence of Korea, and its final objective was to build socialism and communism in Korea and, furthermore, destroy all imperialism and build communism throughout the world.
The formation of the DIU was the historic declaration heralding a new beginning of the Korean revolution and the starting-point of building the party of the Juche type, the revolutionary party of new type, in our country.
The DIU's great exploits remain shining in the history of the Korean revolution because the President formed and built it as a powerful revolutionary organization.
The WPK has performed great feats shining in the century and grown to be a revolutionary party of Juche type which has attained its perfect cohesion and unity and accumulated a wealth of experience. Such a glorious struggle originated from the DIU.
The history of the WPK that began with the DIU as its roots testifies to the truth that the party's greatness is precisely the greatness of the leader.
The banner of the DIU will fly high forever as the WPK is led by the great leader Kim Jong Il.
The Korean revolution had to weather out many rigorous trials.
But, he has overcome difficulties with his strong will, strengthened the party and increased its leadership role, bringing about an uninterrupted upsurge in the revolution and construction.
The WPK is now wisely leading the cause of building a powerful nation.
The immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il, who has developed and strengthened the WPK as a revolutionary party of Juche type, the party of Kim Il Sung that has carried forward the tradition of the DIU, will shine forever.
KCNA slams S. Korean authorities' anti-north diatribe
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Some private papers of Ethiopia reportedly said that the DPRK dispatched missile and landmine experts to Ethiopia, quoting an article of the South Korean paper "Korea Times," and an Ethiopian language program of the German radio aired the same message.
This is a sheer lie dreamed up by those who felt the need to spread the rumour that the DPRK is militarily involved in the dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
It is our invariable and principled stand that the disputes between developing countries should be solved peacefully through talks and negotiations between those concerned in their mutual interests.
The dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea is the problem that must be solved by themselves under any circumstances.
One can, therefore, hardly imagine that the DPRK may be involved in the dispute.
The DPRK, which regards independence, peace and friendship as noble tenet of its foreign policy, has never intervened in any regional disputes nor got involved in other incidents to make them complicated.
This notwithstanding, the "Korea Times," ill-famed for hackwork and tricks, spread such a whopping lie arousing our indignation.
Needless to say, the "Korea Times" released the false report on the basis of misinformation provided by the "Intelligence Service," headquarters for anti-north operations, to carry out its order.
This diatribe is nothing but a sinister attempt to drive a wedge in the good friendly relations between the DPRK and African countries and tarnish the international image of the DPRK.
We sincerely hope the earliest possible realization of the positive proposal and efforts of the Organization of African Unity and the African countries to seek a peaceful solution to the dispute.
Those who groundlessly slander others will be wholly accountable for the consequences of their smear campaign.
The South Korean authorities are well advised to properly judge the trend of the times and the desire of the nation and stop at once their foolish anti-north diatribe.
