KCNA on utterance of warmonger
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Jo Song Thae, South Korean "Minister of National Defence," was reported recently to have cried out for "building a powerful army to cope with provocations" at a "farewell and inaugural ceremony for the army chief of staff", raising a hue and cry over the north's "military buildup."
This is nothing but the South Korean warmongers' sophism to justify their arms buildup and maneuvers to invade the north on the absurd pretext of provocations from the north.
As is well known, huge aggressor forces of the U.S., Japan and South Korea concentrated in and around the Korean peninsula pose a serious military threat to the DPRK. The U.S. and the South Korean warmongers are now staging dangerous war drills one after another including "Foal Eagle" joint military exercise to provoke a war against the north.
It is entirely just for the DPRK to increase the self-reliant defence capability and nobody has the right to decry it as the U.S. and the South Korean warmongers are browbeating it by reinforcing their armed forces and staging large-scale military drills of all forms.
This notwithstanding, jo song thae was foolish enough to assert that "instability" in northeast Asia was attributable to somebody's "defence buildup". This is just like a thief crying "stop the thief."
Jo has seized every opportunity to clamor about non-existent "provocations" from somebody but it self-exposed that they are the arch criminals escalating the north-south confrontation into extremes.
As long as such warmongers as Jo remain in this land, our nation can never live in peace nor avoid scourge of war.
The Korean people will certainly punish such anti-national, anti-reunification warmongers as Jo going against the trend of the times and aspiration of the nation.
NDFSK on S. Korean ruler's flunkeyist and treacherous acts
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Pak Kwang Gi, chief of the Pyongyang mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK), had an interview with KCNA on Tuesday on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Kwangju student incident.
The incident is a nationwide anti-Japanese patriotic resistance of Korean students which took place in 1929 as Japanese boy students teased a Korean girl student.
The desire of the people for the independence and sovereignty of the country has not been realized in South Korea, Pak Kwang Gi said, and went on:
The situation of South Korea in which the foreign forces hold sway has been further worsened by the present authorities' flunkeyist and treacherous acts.
In particular, the present chief executive has become infamous as the most truculent traitor surpassing his predecessors in pro-U.S. and pro-Japanese treacherous acts.
The Kim Dae Jung group is now engrossed in the treacherous policy toward Japan, going against the campaign of South Korean people from all walks of life for the liquidation of pro-Japanese elements.
It is the group of despicable flunkeyists and traitors without an equal in history who surpass the "five traitors of 1905" in damaging and selling off the interests of the country and the nation.
They should clearly see the patriotic will and determination of the South Korean people to realize independence against foreign forces, immediately stop the flunkeyist and treacherous acts and step down without delay.
Meeting of frontrankers hailed
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang-based newspapers today carry editorials on the opening meeting of frontrankers of the second grand Chollima march.
This is a historic meeting for the general onward movement, which will add fuel to the flames of the great revolutionary upswing across the country and bring about a new effect in the building of a powerful nation.

The meeting of frontrankers is of weighty significance in opening up a new era of prosperity and development under the leadership of the great Kim Jong Il.
It will mark an important occasion in fully demonstrating the might of the single-hearted unity of the Korean people who are advancing under the banner of building a powerful nation, closely rallied around Kim Jong Il.
The meeting is also of great significance in making the heroic fighting spirit prevail all over the country. And it will be a historic landmark in effecting a new turn in the socialist economic construction under the banner of building a powerful nation.
Such praiseworthy meeting can be convened only in Korea where the history of the great revolutionary upswing continues under the guidance of the great party, the paper says, and goes on:

U.S. assailed for nuclear threat
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- True colors of the United States as the arch criminal preparing a nuclear war have been brought to light. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary carried in this regard says:
Shortly ago, a U.S. non-governmental organization specializing in nuclear weapons disclosed that the United States deployed some 7,000 nuclear weapons in NATO member countries and more than 2,000 in the pacific early in the 1970s and keeps nukes in the countries where their deployment has not been known so far.
There are more than 10,500 strategic nuclear missiles in the United States, among them over 2,050 intercontinental ballistic missiles and 3,075 nuclear bombs.
Noting that most of the nuclear weapons are concentrated in the Asia-Pacific region, the commentary goes on:
Deployed in South Korea are more than 2,000 tactical nuclear weapons and a large number of depleted uranium bullets. South Korea is an area with the highest density of strategic weapon deployment in the world.
The U.S. represents the most dangerous nuclear war fanatics in this world.
What merits particular attention is that those nuclear weapons deployed by the U.S. are targeted at the DPRK. The Korean people are exposed to the threat of nuclear weapons of the U.S. wherever they are deployed. This threat is increasing because the U.S., a nuclear weapon state, is in the belligerent relations with the DPRK and does not implement the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework.
What can not be overlooked is that the United States openly asserts the "use of nuclear weapons" on the pretext of threat from the DPRK.
A clear example of this was outbursts made by such warmongers as Shalikashvili, former chairman of the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, at an interview concerning the "review of the nuclear war preparations" that the nuclear weapons deployed by the U.S. were meant "for implementing the mission of striking North Korea".
Nuclear threat is coming to the DPRK from the U.S. The United States is the arch criminal increasing the nuclear threat.
Confederal formula for Korean reunification supported
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Committee for Supporting Korea's Peaceful Reunification, the Mexican Friendship Union to Honor the Memory of President Kim Il Sung and the Mexico-DPRK Institute of Friendship and Cultural Interchange issued a joint statement on October 15 on the occasion of the month of support to the proposal on founding the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo (DCRK).
Recalling that the proposal on founding the DCRK calls for establishing a unified national government in which the north and south of Korea are represented on an equal footing and under which they exercise regional autonomy respectively with equal rights and duties, the statement expressed full support to the proposal, saying that it is the most just and realistic and unique way of achieving the peaceful reunification of Korea.
The statement said:
The DCRK will be a reunified, independent, peace-loving and neutral state and its policy will contribute to the security and peace not only in northeast Asia but in the world.
The peace-loving organizations in Mexico strongly hope that the DPRK led by the great leader Kim Jong Il will achieve the reunification of the Korean peninsula at an early date.
We call upon all the progressive peace-loving organizations in the world to continue to send international support and solidarity to the struggle of the Korean people to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification at an early date by founding the DCRK.
Robert Williams, vice-chairman of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea and general secretary of the Good Green Guyana, issued a statement on October 26.
He said that the proposal on achieving Korea's reunification by confederal formula put forward by the President Kim Il Sung is commanding broad-based support and approval not only from the Koreans in the north, south and overseas but from the progressive people of the world for its validity and feasibility.
He expressed the belief that the Korean people would surely smash all moves of the domestic and foreign separatist forces and achieve the historical cause of national reunification through the great national unity under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, the lodestar of national reunification.

Meeting of frontrankers of 2nd grand Chollima march opens
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A meeting of frontrankers of the second grand Chollima march opened here today in grand style.
The meeting will review the achievements and experience gained in the course of heroically carrying out the "arduous march" and the forced march and of accelerating the second grand Chollima march and discuss tasks and ways of bringing about a new great revolutionary upsurge in the spirit of Kanggye.
Among those present at the meeting were Kim Yong Nam and other senior party and state officials, labor heroes and heroines, unassuming heroes and heroines and labor innovators.
A congratulatory message of the central committee of the Worker's Party of Korea to the participants was read out at the meeting.

Factory conducive to improvement of people's living standard
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Hamhung disabled soldiers plastic daily necessaries factory is a noted economic player in the DPRK.
The factory situated in Hamhung, South Hamgyong Province, specializes in the production of over 150 kinds of plastic daily necessaries such as vinyl sheet, raincoat, vinyl bag and toys.
The workers of the factory have contributed to the improvement of the standard of people's living by increasing production in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance despite economic difficulties in recent years.
Its predecessor was the ironware producers cooperative made up of 15 disabled soldiers which was established in may, 1953 during the Fatherland Liberation War. It developed to be a factory specializing in the production of poly vinyl chloride goods early in the 1960s.
This factory has turned into a plastic daily necessaries producer equipped with hundreds of modern equipment including catapult and printing machine.
The President Kim Il Sung showed particular concern for the factory. While visiting the factory in June, 1967, Kim Il Sung praised the disabled soldiers for producing well-designed daily necessaries and supplying them to people and made sure that state care was shown for them and better working conditions provided to them.
There is every condition in the factory for the disabled soldiers to do worthwhile work for themselves and society.
The factory has a poly clinic and sanatorium where able doctors take special care of health of its employees. The disabled soldiers are given tonic worth hundreds of won free of charge every year and it is compulsory for each of them to spend 30 days every year either at rest homes or sanatoria.
The factory has so far made more than 200 inventions of national value and new technical and innovation proposals and introduced them into production, thus greatly contributing to boosting the output and improving the quality of products.
It was visited by more than 12,000 foreigners including heads of political parties and state of various countries.
During his visit to the factory in September the great leader Kim Jong Il highly praised its workers for the successes achieved in the revolutionary spirit of soldiers during the periods of the "arduous march" and the forced march and showed warm loving care for them.
Anniversary of Kwangju students incident
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun here today dedicates a signed article to the 70th anniversary of the Kwangju students incident on November 3, Juche 18 (1929) which was triggered off when Japanese boy students teased and insulted a Korean girl student.
The article says:
The incident continued till April next year despite the brutal suppression by the Japanese. It was a massive anti-Japanese patriotic resistance of the Korean youth and students against the Japanese colonial rule, slave education and national contempt, which demonstrated the Korean people's firm national will to drive out the invaders and achieve national independence and sovereignty.
Though the Korean people's massive anti-Japanese struggle was put down, it dealt a telling blow to the colonial rule of the Japanese and fully demonstrated bravery, wisdom and fighting spirit of the Korean nation to the whole world.
National dignity and interests are seriously trampled down and the people are subjected to humiliation, insult and disgrace as slaves in South Korea today under the colonial rule of the U.S. The reality there is more deplorable than under the colonial rule of the Japanese.
The U.S.'s occupation of South Korea is the main cause of misfortunes and sufferings of the South Korean people. As shown by massacres in Yongdong and Kwangju, the U.S. regard the Korean people as no more than "mouses" and do not hesitate to commit such brutalities as killing them, looting their properties and raping Korean women as they please.
Moreover, the U.S. force the South Korean people to slave under the mandate of the International Monetary Fund.
The Japanese militarist forces that have revived under the U.S.'s patronage are feverishly whetting their swords for reinvasion to repeat the history of crimes committed against the Korean people in the past.
Not content with having offered everything to the U.S., the South Korean ruling quarters are selling off the country and nation even to the Japanese reactionaries, the sworn enemy of the Korean nation.
The South Korean people can never get rid of foreign domination and subjugation as long as the nation allows such group of traitors to stay in the land.
National reunification is the supreme cherished wish and most urgent task of the Korean nation.

Total repeal of "security law" urged
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The spokesman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement yesterday on the moves of the South Korean ruling quarters to mislead the domestic and foreign public opinion through the "revision" of the "security law."
The statement said that the "revision of 'security law'" is nothing but a cunning and deceptive trick to strengthen the fascist function by beefing up the evil law and to calm down the domestic and foreign public opinion demanding the complete abrogation of the "security law"
The South Korean ruling quarters said that the north would be erased from the list of "anti-state organizations" on the condition of change of its attitude, the statement noted, and went on:
In fact, this reveals their intention to continue defining the north as "enemy" and commit the anti-north moves on groundless charges in the future.
The CPRF scathingly denounces the "revision of 'security law'" of the South Korean ruling quarters as an intentional and criminal act to further fascistize the South Korean society, block the reconciliation and unity of the nation and persistently lay the serious hurdles in the way of reunification through the anti-communist confrontation moves.
The notorious "security law" must be repealed completely rather than revised.
Over 50 odd years after its appearance as a means of the South Korean authorities for their fascist rule, this anti-national, anti-reunification fascist law has been used to block the struggle of the South Korean people for the independence and democracy of society and for the national reunification and aggravate the confrontation between the north and south.
With the "security law" left alone it is impossible to terminate the tragedy of division of our nation which has lasted for over 50 years and free South Korea from the mediaeval violation of human rights.
It is impossible to usher in the new millennium with the "security law" rubbish of the history, left intact in South Korea.
Signature campaign calls for abolition of "security law"
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The National Council of Teachers for Democracy (Mingyohyop), which has been in a signature campaign since mid-October calling for the total abolition of the "security law", made public the signature list, noting that as of November 1, some 1,060 teachers from 63 universities across South Korea took part in the signature campaign, a Seoul-based radio reported.
Mingyohyop in a statement titled "basic stand on the abolition of the security law" on November 1 demanded that the "security law" be abolished without fail as it is an evil law which suppresses the freedom of expression and thinking and defines the north as an "anti-state organization" and blocks the country's peaceful reunification.
It declared that it would collect signatures of 3,000 teachers supporting the abolition of the "security law" until November 13 and stage a joint sit-in strike and rally for the abolition of the law with civic and social organizations.
