Plotters will have to pay dearly
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- A foreign news report quoted the November 2 edition of the newspaper Chosun Ilbo as saying that there was a "turmoil" in some part of the North Korea.
In a bid to make the false report credible, the government-controlled anti-communist newspaper said that a "special unit was mobilized in suppressing the turmoil" according to a "source" that had just been to the north.
This shows that the South Korean puppets feel ill at ease because the people's army and people of the north are successfully building a powerful socialist state, wholeheartedly united around the respected Kim Jong Il and anthropocentric Korean socialism is emerging victorious.
It is obvious that they fabricated this false report for a sinister purpose of creating discord between the army and the people in the north, impairing the army-first revolutionary leadership, the great mode of politics of the Worker's Party of Korea, and disparaging the ever-rising international prestige of the DPRK.
This is, however, a third-rate trick.
As the world recognizes, the DPRK is the best socialist society centering on the masses in the world.
All people exercise their rights as genuine masters of the state and society and learn, work and enjoy happiness to their hearts' content under the care of the party and the state and step up the second grand chollima march, helping and leading one another forward under the slogan "one for all and all for one."
In this society, "turmoil" is impossible and unimaginable.
There can be "turmoil" in such a colonial fascist dictatorial society as South Korea where exploitation and oppression hold sway, human rights are trampled underfoot ruthlessly and the rich get richer and the poor poorer.
False propaganda can convince no one.
Truth will remain truth and cannot be denied or distorted.
No matter how hard the South Korean puppets concoct a plot and make false reports, it will only do harm to themselves.
We brand this intrigue as a heinous criminal act against the dignity of our people's army, our people and our republic. We will certainly make the South Korean authorities and the Chosun Ilbo pay for their criminal insult sometime.
The South Korean puppet authorities must immediately stop the false reports and intrigues that go against inter-Korean reconciliation, great national unity and reunification.
As long as they resort to the anti-DPRK intrigues that aggravate the north-south confrontation, we will be compelled to have no contact with them and they will have to be held wholly responsible for all the consequences.
Letters to international and regional organizations
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The Korean Democratic Lawyers Association sent letters to the UN Commission on Human Rights, the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, the International Committee of Jurists for Democracy and Human Rights in South Korea, the International Association Against Torture, the World Peace Commission of the Asian and Pacific Lawyers Association, the Law Association of Asia and Pacific and the Arab Lawyers Union requesting the dispatch of an international investigation group to probe GIs' massacres in connection with the recent disclosure of the truth about massacres committed by GIs in South Korea during the Korean War.
Branding these brutalities as a serious problem related to the international justice and human conscience, the letter said: The U.S. troops' massacres including the Rogun-ri massacre should be of the most profound international concern so that all the countries and nations of the world may not suffer such atrocities again.
The letter requested the organizations to properly probe the truth about the Rogun-ri massacre and immediately take an appropriate measure according to the international law to prevent the recurrence of such man-killings.
The letter requested them to dispatch an international investigation group to probe not only the Rogun-ri massacre but all the killings of civilians committed by the U.S. troops during the last Korean War.
FKTU decides to stage anti-"government" struggle
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The Federation of (South) Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) made a "local tour for seminar on the struggle to defend the right to existence in the second half of the year" in Pusan on November 4, according to a report.
At the seminar the FKTU put up such demands as deletion of the article of the evil labour law which stipulates that wages shall not be paid to the cadres of unions, cutdown of working hours, halt to the restructuring of public fields and the repeal of the measure to sell out the electrical companies to foreign businesses. It warned the "government" side that if it refuses to meet these demands, they will launch an "anti-government" struggle by holding workers rallies across South Korea on November 21.
It also stated that it, together with the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and other civic and social organizations, would stage big rallies and other solidarity struggles and call a nationwide general strike.
KCNA on Japan's "non-combatant rescue plan"
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Recently Japan mapped out a "non-combatant rescue plan" on the pretext of rescuing the Japanese in South Korea in an "emergency" on the Korean peninsula, according to a report.
The Japanese maritime or air "Self-Defense Force" will reportedly be mobilized in the 8-phase plan and it be commanded by the Prime Minister.
This very ill-boding military development indicates that the Japanese reactionaries' moves for reinvasion have attained a new dimension and reached the stage of full implementation.
The "non-combatant rescue plan" is, in essence, an aggressive war plan to launch a reinvasion of Korea.
The plan is nothing but a plot to deceive the world opinion. The Japanese reactionaries are seeking to massively hurl their "Self-Defense Forces" into South Korea under the pretext of an "emergency" on the Korean peninsula.
They have already secured the "SDF's" right of belligerency and the right to participate in a war through the adoption of bills related to the "Japan-U.S. Defense Cooperation Guidelines" to cope with an "emergency" on the Korean peninsula.
What Japan has not yet done is to invent a pretext to hurl the "Self-Defense Forces" into South Korea. The newly-hammered out "non-combatant rescue plan" represents a green light to the move to attain that aim.
Japan drew up a new plan to stage a comeback to the Korean peninsula against the backdrop of the unprecedentedly intensifying bilateral and multilateral military cooperation and joint war drills with the United States and South Korea.
This is an undisguised challenge to the DPRK.
It is the firm will of the Korean people to return fire for fire.
The Japanese reactionaries should clearly know this and give up their wild design for reinvasion.
U.S. slammed for its ambition for world domination
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary slams the U.S. conservative hard-liners for talking about the development and deployment of the "Theatre Missile Defence" system (TMD) allegedly to cope with the "threat" from the DPRK.
Raising a hue and cry over the "crisis" on the Korean peninsula, they call for the development and deployment of the "TMD" targeted at the DPRK so as to secure a "military deterrent force" through a "military edge."
Dismissing this as preposterous, the commentary says:
The U.S. threat to the DPRK is well known to the world.
Huge U.S. forces are deployed in South Korea and around the Korean peninsula. The latest war equipment including nuclear weapons are targeted at the DPRK, while military exercises against it are being staged almost everyday.
The open call of the U.S. conservative hard-liners for the development and deployment of the "TMD" stemmed from the U.S. strategical design to have an overwhelming "military edge" and establish a military domination over East Asia and, furthermore, gain world supremacy.
The "TMD" is not for protecting the U.S. and its allies from someone's "threat." It is a product of the U.S. ambition for world domination. It is the unchangeable design of the U.S. to realize its plan for world domination by force.
The U.S. is well advised to give up its attempt to dominate the world by a military edge.
1st vice-chairman of Chongryon meets former UN deputy secretary general
Tokyo, November 4 (KNS-KCNA) -- So Man Sul, first vice-chairman of the central standing committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), met former UN deputy secretary general Yasushi Akashi who is also chairman of the Japanese Preventive Diplomatic Center, at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on November 2.
Referring to the DPRK-U.S. relations, the chairman said the relations between Japan and the DPRK should develop on good terms as soon as possible.
If Japan and the DPRK are to be truly close countries, Japan should not forget its past but abandon national discrimination and prejudice, he said.
So Man Sul asked the chairman to strive hard as ever for the liquidation of the unfortunate past between the DPRK and Japan and the radical improvement of the status of the Koreans in Japan.
Anti-"security law" newspaper published
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The "all-people solidarity council for the repeal of the 'security law'" grouping over 120 civic, social and religious organizations newly published the anti-"security law" newspaper Hwalbo, the South Korean newspaper Hangyore said.
The paper will edit articles disclosing the reactionary nature of the "security law" and other articles opposing the evil law.
10,000 copies will be published by the end of the year.
The paper will disclose more points at issue in the "security law" and give further momentum to the struggle of the people for its total repeal.
Commemoration society inaugurated in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The society for commemorating the 20th anniversary of the resistance in Pusan and Masan, an organization for the pro-democracy movement, was inaugurated in Masan of South Korea recently, the newspaper Hangyore said.
At the inaugural meeting, the participants recalled that people rose in a resistance shouting the anti-dictatorship and pro-democracy slogans in various parts of South Korea including Pusan and Masan in October, 1979 and vowed to fight more vigorously to realize what the resistance fighters desired at that time.
Meanwhile, the society fixed 6 days for holding commemoration functions, publishing printed materials and organizing symposiums, film shows and photo exhibitions.
Hunger-strikers group formed
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- South Korean people from all walks of life on November 3 formed a hunger-strikers group demanding the repeal of the fascist "security law" and the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from South Korea and entered into a hunger-strike, according to a radio report from Seoul.
The group called the all-people hunger-strikers group has members of the joint committee of measures for the guarantee of basic rights of the people and the release of prisoners of conscience as core members and embraces those who were thrown into prison under the anti-national "security law," those who are placed under "supervision for public peace" even after their release from jail, victims to murderous torture and those on the wanted list.
The group threatened to stage a hunger-strike at Myongdong Cathedral in Seoul and in 10 other places in Taejon, Kwangju, Pusan and other parts of South Korea for ten days from Nov. 3.
KCNA on crimes committed by GIs
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the South Korean authorities are now dragging their feet on the investigation into massacres committed by GIs in various parts of South Korea including Yongdong county in a bid to evade a probe into their truth and compensation and apology for them.
As already reported, the disclosure of the massacres committed by GIs in Yongdong county, North Chungchong Province, during the past Korean War served as a clue to the continued exposure of American massacres that have remained distorted and concealed for scores of years in different parts of South Korea.
This is touching off indignation of not only our compatriots in the north and south but many progressive people of the world.
The U.S., which is chiefly responsible for the massacres, must apologize and compensate for them.
But recently the U.S. insisted on an individual investigation, rejecting the proposal to form a U.S.-south Korea joint group to investigate the mass killing in Rogun-ri and floated a rumour about "lack of evidence" and "undesirable claim" in a foolish attempt to hide the truth about the massacre.
This is an insult and mockery of our nation as it is intended to cover up the unethical crimes which GIs committed against so many Koreans for their pleasure.
It is hard for the U.S. to hide the truth about its killings as its hands are stained with the blood of the countless number of Koreans.
The South Korean authorities are equally accountable for the crime as they are joining the U.S. in its efforts to cover up the massacre.
They are reluctant to buckle down to resolving the matter to please their master.
The criminals should be made to pay for the blood shed by the compatriots.
The U.S. and South Korean authorities are well advised to probe the truth about all the massacres, apologize to the Korean nation for them and punish the prime movers.
U.S. urged to drop its sinister design
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today in a signed commentary condemns the U.S. for trying to stifle the DPRK militarily at any cost.
Recently the United States released results of the opinion poll on the issue of dispatching the U.S. forces to cope with the "attack" by the DPRK and put forward "guidelines" for "pushing diplomatic and security policies concerning the biological and chemical weapons of North Korea."
The commentary dismisses this as moves to keep increasing the number of the U.S. aggressor forces in South Korea and escalate their maneuvers for a war of aggression.
These moves of the U.S. to militarily stifle the DPRK increase our doubt about its loudmouthed "dialogue" and "peace", the commentary observes, and goes on:
Dialogue is incompatible with war.
It is our firm will and determination to answer dialogue with dialogue and return fire for fire.
We have military power strong enough to cope with whatever aggressive moves of the imperialists.
If the U.S. persists in its moves to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, we will mobilize to the maximum the strength to annihilate the enemy built up for scores of years and deal retaliatory blows to the aggressors.
S. Korean authorities' "sunshine policy" flayed
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland released an article disclosing the injustice and anti-national nature of the "sunshine policy" desperately pursued by the South Korean chief executive.
The issue of Korean reunification should find a solution that meets the interests of the nation, the article says, and goes on:
The "sunshine policy" peddled by the South Korean chief executive is not a creative one towards the reunification of the country but a product of the policy of blindly toeing others and copying their things.
Not content with copying foreign things, he picked the word "sunshine" from the western collection of fables to dream up his "policy toward the north" intended to undress others.
This is a political cartoon provoking people's laughter.
The inter-Korean relations are directly linked with the issue of the country's reunification. It is an anti-national, anti-reunification behaviour for him to have regarded this reunification issue related to the nation's destiny as a matter of one party undressing the other party.
The issue of Korea's reunification is not a question of one side of the north and the south conquering or undressing the other side.
Such "sunshine policy" will only result in a fratricidal war or in the disgraceful permanent division.
The "sunshine" logic is, in essence, a logic of confrontation and the outdated logic of the Cold War.
The South Korean chief executive is now putting up the signboard of "sunshine" but his confrontation posture to strip others naked is little different from the anti-communist policy of his predecessors.
He, obsessed with the mode of thinking in the Cold War, is seeking confrontation through the "sunshine policy", regarding the reunification question as one on which victory or defeat of his system hinges. This is an intolerable anti-reunification criminal act.
Dismissing the South Korean chief executive's nonsense that this policy is "not intended to undress the north" as hypocrisy, the article continues:
To tell the truth, it is the South Korean authorities who should be undressed.
We, who are wearing clothes that represent Juche, independence and Korea, do not need to take them off nor have anything to take off.
But the South Korean authorities have U.S.-made overcoat and Japan-made dress offered by their U.S. and Japanese masters.
These are, no doubt, clothes for flunkeyists and traitors which are not suited to Koreans.
The South Korean authorities are well advised to wear clothes that represent independence, great unity and reunification, the national dresses, though belatedly.
It was in this sense that we sincerely proposed to the South Korean authorities to take off foreign clothes and have national dresses at a joint meeting of the DPRK government, political parties and organizations early this year.
The South Korean chief executive should not go in clothes for flunkeyists and traitors, clothes for confrontation, but make a bold decision to accept the three priorities set forth by the DPRK at the joint meeting.
