Minju Joson on Taean work system
Pyngyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today carries a signed article on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's famous work "On Further Developing the Taean Work System."
The work made public 37 years ago today comprehensively propounds the essence and superiority of the Taean work system and clarifies the tasks and ways of further developing the system.
The Taean work system is an original Juche-oriented economic management system of Korean style, an embodiment of the immortal Juche idea and the revolutionary mass line based on it, the article notes and goes on:
The system is an economic management system which regards the people as the master of economic management. It provides the working masses with ample conditions for acting the master in economic management as required by the Juche idea and exercising their substantial rights and fulfiling their responsibilities and duties as such.
The system enables all the working people to make positive efforts and display creative energies to increase production and improve industrial management under the guidance of the party committee.
Embodied in the system is the traditional revolutionary mass line of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Herein lies one of the important essentials of the system and the characteristic features of the system quite different from the old one.
Under the Taean work system the revolutionary mass line is applied to all the processes of economic management and this finds concentric manifestation in planning in particular.
This system calls on the producer masses to show concern for all matters related to industrial management including not only planning but also maintenance of equipment, supply of raw and other materials and supply service and participate in the work to solve them as masters and thus fulfil their duties and responsibilities as such.
Based on the Juche idea and the revolutionary mass line, the Taean work system is fully demonstrating the might of unity and cooperation, positive efforts and creative energies of the masses as a Juche-oriented economic management system fully meeting the intrinsic requirements of the socialist society based on collectivism and the validity of the work system whereby the party leadership is fully ensured at the lowest unit.
The experience gained in practice proves that there is no better socialist economic management system in the world than the Taean work system.
Korean books presented to Nepal
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- Korean books were presented with due ceremony at the building of the central committee of the Nepal Worker-Peasant Party on Nov. 3.
At the ceremony, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, chairman of the central committee of the party and member of the parliament, was presented with famous works of the great leaders President Kim Il Sung and Marshal Kim Jong Il, including reminiscences of the president "With The Century" vols. 6 and 8 of part 1 the anti-Japanese revolution and the immortal classic works of the marshal "Socialism is a Science", "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification," and Korean picture albums and books.
The chairman said that his party would widely distribute those books presented this time to help the communists and people more actively study the great Juche idea and realities of Korean socialism.
Repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners called for
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- The Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea issued an appeal to the world peace-loving people on Nov. 3 demanding the repatriation of the unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea.
The appeal says:
Old Kim In So, Ham Se Hwan and Kim Yong Thae, ex-soldiers of the Korean People's Army, were taken prisoner by enemies during the Korean War. Although they were set free after scores of years of prison life, they sleep in the open air and are subjected to all sorts of maltreatment under the "security law."
They have strongly demanded their repatriation to the DPRK, their homeland. however, the South Korean authorities have rejected it for the mere reason that they refused to make a conversion.
Expressing indignation at the inhuman and savage human rights abuse by the South Korean authorities who serve the U.S., the appeal called on the peace-loving progressives of the world to strongly urge the South Korean authorities to take a measure to immediately send them back to the DPRK where their families are awaiting them.
KCNA on piffle of Japanese defence chief
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- Kawara, director-general of the Defence Agency of Japan, was reported by the Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun to have said that "It is hard to say that the missile threat from North Korea has been reduced" as regards the recent resumption of charter flight between the DPRK and Japan.
This openly revealed once again the criminal attempt of the Japanese reactionaries to desperately pursue their anachronistic hostile policy towards the DPRK.
The Japanese reactionaries have vociferated about non-existent "threat from North Korea" for more than a year, terming the DPRK's launch of its first artificial satellite last year as a "missile launch."
This diatribe turned out to be more ridiculous when the U.S. announced the easing of sanctions against the DPRK after the recent DPRK-U.S. talks in Berlin.
The preposterous piffle made by the director-general again this time about "North Korean missile threat" glaringly reveals the political and moral inferiority and shamelessness peculiar to the Japanese reactionaries who are trying to justify the crimes committed by them at any cost, instead of repenting of and apologizing for them.
This means, in fact, that they will continue to pursue their hostile policy towards the DPRK in the future, too.
The Korean people and army will never tolerate the hostile remarks made by such warmongers as Kawara but watch the future behaviour of the Japanese authorities with high vigilance and react to it from an independent stand.
U.S. policy of strength under fire
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- The United States recently decided to appropriate dlrs 268 billion in military spending for the new fiscal year and formally deploy the "Theatre Missile Defense" system. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article stresses the brigandish nature of U.S. and its aggressive policy of strength remain unchanged.
The article says:
The general strategic goal of the United States is to stifle the anti-imperialist independent forces of the world and turn the whole world into a unipolar world under its thumb so as to exercise unlimited supremacy over it.
To this end, the U.S. are resorting to the policy of strength, still placing their hope on it. It is nothing but a reckless act of those who have fallen into expansive delusion.
The present times is the era of independence. no force in the earth can block the just struggle of peoples against all forms of domination and subjugation and for independence of each country and nation.
U.S. took upperhand in strength temporarily on the international arena after the end of Cold War, but is losing it with each passing day.
Those countries, which were once attacked by it without making decisive counteraction or voiced protest and condemnation, are seeking ways and taking steps to defend themselves.
With military expenditure increased, the U.S. economic crisis is getting from bad to worse.
The United States' trade deficit last year was 168,590 million dollars, all-time high.
Its economic potentials are too weak to support their reckless policy of strength.
It is needless to say that the U.S. is unable to provide manpower for world domination.
U.S. is seeking to invite allied nations to make up for its limited strength but most of them are reluctant to make response to it.
Inevitable is the failure of its policy of strength.
If it persists in such policy, it will only accelerate its own destruction.
Pomminryon three-way consultative meeting held
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- A three-way consultative meeting of the headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) in the north, south and abroad was held in Pyongyang, Seoul and Tokyo between Nov. 5 and 6.
The three sides were represented at the meeting by way of exchanging papers.
The meeting discussed tasks to make the coming year 2000 a year of a turning phase in the history of the reunification movement of the Korean nation including "a number of tasks to implement resolution adopted at the August 15 pan-national grand reunification festival" and "issue of waging the struggle to implement three-point charter of national reunification as a nationwide struggle for reunification."
It was agreed at the meeting to stage a signature campaign supporting the three-point charter of the national reunification in the north, south and abroad keeping pace with the construction of the monument to the three-point charter from Nov. 20, founding anniversary of Pomminryon, to Aug. 15 next year and hold a "grand symposium on the three-point charter of national reunification" in February next year with the large attendance of organizations of the reunification movement and individuals at home and abroad.
The meeting proposed to struggle to force the United States to immediately dismantle its troops and military bases in South Korea, apologize and compensate for massacres committed by GIs during the Korean War, frustrate the moves of the U.S. and the South Korean authorities for a new war, the manoeuvres of the Japanese militarists for reinvasion and the anti-national "tripartite cooperation."
It also discussed the issue of strengthening solidarity and cooperation with other organizations centred on Pomminryon and energetically conducting the work to build up driving force for national reunification.
The meeting decided to focus the movement for reunification in the year 2000 on a struggle to support and implement the three-point charter of national reunification as the three-point charter has been established as a main political programme of Pomminryon and form a joint promotion committee with pomminryon members in the north, south and abroad with a view to pushing ahead with this struggle in close combination with the construction of the monument to the charter. A relevant joint resolution was also adopted at the meeting.
"The north, south and overseas joint promotion committee" was made up of three members from each side of the north, south and overseas headquarters and one from the joint secretariat. There was an agreement on its function and commitments.
The joint resolution called on the compatriots in the north, south and abroad to resolutely uphold the three-point charter of national reunification and vigorously struggle to implement it. It underscored the need to energetically push ahead with the erection of the monument to the charter as part of the nationwide patriotic movement for reunification and further escalate it by enhancing the function and role of the joint promotion committee.
It was also agreed at the meeting to hold a "joint conference of the north, south and overseas public organizations" next year and "the 8th meeting of Pomminryon joint presidium members" in Beijing in next February and open the north, south and overseas joint meeting for the total abrogation of the "security law" in South Korea on Nov. 27.
