Delegation of Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea feted

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea gave a reception on Saturday in honor of the visiting delegation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea headed by Candido Muatetema, deputy general secretary of the party.
Choe Thae Bok, alternate member of the political bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, in his speech at the reception said the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea has expressed firm support and solidarity with the WPK and the Korean people in their struggle to defend sovereignty and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country. We are very pleased to have friends on the African continent who treasure independence and sense of obligation, he added, and continued:
It is the WPK's consistent stand to favorably develop the friendly relations with the party. We will as ever make all efforts to continue to consolidate and develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties provided by the President Kim Il Sung and respected Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
Speaking next, the deputy general secretary noted the delegation's visit to the DPRK is of great significance because this will contribute to boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties.
Pointing out that the two parties and peoples have long maintained the friendly relations, he said the President of the country who is the founder of his party is determined to further the relations with the DPRK.
Saying they arrived in Pyongyang with solidarity and warm feelings toward the Korean people, he expressed the belief that the Korean people would continue to advance along the path chosen by themselves, guided by the ideas of Kim Il Sung.

Repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners demanded

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian Committee for the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea issued a statement demanding the repatriation of the unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea on November 5.
The statement expressed full support to the letter of the chairman of the central committee of the DPRK Red Cross Society sent to the president of the Red Cross of South Korea urging the repatriation of Kim In So, Ham Se Hwan and Kim Yong Thae, the unconverted long-term prisoners.
The statement strongly demanded the South Korean authorities unconditionally repatriate the unconverted long-term prisoners to their homes at an early date, respect their rights and improve their living conditions.
The statement called upon all the governments, political parties, organizations and billions of people around the world to undertake an international solidarity movement for the repatriation of the unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea.
Meanwhile, the Indian Committee for the Study of Juche Philosophy and the Indian Juche Journalists Institute in their joint statement issued on November 8, joined the justice and peace-loving people of the world in angrily condemning the inhuman and brutal acts committed by the South Korean authorities in pursuance of the U.S. policy.
The statement strongly demanded that the South Korean authorities repatriate the physically weak and ailing unconverted long-term prisoners to their homes immediately so that they may spend the rest of their lives in happiness with their families under the warm care of the DPRK.

S. Korea's arms buildup denounced

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued information bulletin no. 795 denouncing the South Korean authorities for their arms buildup.
Recently, the South Korean authorities agreed with the U.S. on purchasing 14 Patriot missile launching systems of the latest type, called "PAC-3." Earlier, they decided to introduce U.S. "F-16" fighter bombers and multi-rocket system and sophisticated oceanic watch and information system before the end of this year. They have also decided to ship U.S.-made ground-to-ground missiles "ATACMS block-A" into South Korea on a phased basis by 2006.
    The information says:
All this proves that the South Korean authorities are desperately working to escalate the arms buildup for a forestalling strike against the north by wasting the money collected from the people through bloody taxation.
The South Korean authorities envisage the next year's military spending amounting to 14,439 billion won or 5 percent bigger than this year's and are going to spend the fund for war preparations against the north.
They are hell bent on the arms buildup for confrontation and war, not for reconciliation and unity. This clearly indicates that they are a group of wicked traitors, going against the aspiration and desire of the nation, and warmongers bringing clouds of war over the head of the nation.
If they persist in the war maneuvers against the compatriots, relying on foreign forces, it will lead them to self-destruction.
If the South Korean authorities keep escalating the tensions through ceaseless arms buildup to invade the north, defying its repeated warnings, they will be held wholly responsible for all the ensuing consequences.

U.S. Defense Secretary's bellicose outbursts assailed

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary assails U.S. Defense Secretary Cohen for his outburst made in a press interview on November 4 that the U.S. does not rule out a "forestalling attack" against the DPRK.
    It observes:
This is an indication that the U.S. intend to solve the Korean problem by force of arms, not through a dialogue.
The U.S. has deployed huge aggressor forces and war equipment in South Korea and around the Korean peninsula and is staging war exercises against the DPRK every day.
Nevertheless, it is loudmouthed about the negotiated settlement of the Korean issue. This is the height of sarcasm.
The U.S. has never given up its intention to stifle the DPRK by strength. This is once again evidenced by Cohen's outcry.
Warning the U.S. high-ranking authorities that their bellicose outbursts will adversely affect the U.S.-DPRK talks now under way amid deep concern of the world, the commentary stresses: The U.S. double-dealing attitude makes us drop any expectation of this dialogue.
The behaviour of the U.S. naturally compels us to strengthen the self-reliant national defence like an iron wall.
If they do not want a dialogue, they may turn to confrontation.
    Final victory belongs to us.
We will continue to increase our self-reliant defense power to cope with the U.S. military threat to us unless it stops the threat.
The U.S. warmongers are well advised to deeply ponder over the consequences of their call for a "forestalling attack".
