There are also art works depicting the struggle of the Korean people who are creating new miracles and innovations.

KCNA urges U.S. to bear legal responsibility

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) - U.S. Secretary of Defense Cohen reportedly said at a recent press conference held at the end of the "South Korea-U.S. annual security consultative meeting" that "the U.S. will not assume any legal responsibility for spraying defoliant."
This represents the unpardonable brazen-faced outcries of the occupationists intended to shirk their responsibility for the killings of Koreans.
As already known, defoliant was sprayed over the demilitarized zone along the Military Demarcation Line from 1968 to 1969 at the U.S. connivance.
The plan for spraying defoliant was worked out by the then commander of the U.S. forces in South Korea together with the South Korean authorities and carried out with the approval of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Recently the U.S. Defense Department officially admitted that the operation for the spraying of defoliant was planned by the U.S. and the substance was supplied and its spraying was supervised by it.
The U.S. turned part of our inviolable territory into ruins and gravely threatened the very existence of our compatriots in a bid to meet its aggressive ambition and interest. This is a wanton violation of the international law.
It was the U.S. which developed defoliant with tremendous destructive power and is chiefly responsible for its disaster brought to our nation.
The U.S. should assume a legal responsibility for the killings of Koreans and destruction of part of our inviolable territory.

U.S. and South Korea agree on anti-DPRK military operation plan

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The South Korea-U.S. "annual security consultative meeting" was reportedly held in Washington on November 24 with U.S. Defense Secretary Cohen and South Korean "Defence Minister" Jo Song Thae attending.
It discussed and reached an agreement on the military operation plan against the DPRK.
The plan, among other things, calls on the U.S. to immediately dispatch its chemical and biological units to South Korea from its mainland when "there is a sign of North Korea's possible use of chemical and biological weapons."
It also provides for the deployment in the major South Korea-U.S. combined units from next year of the latest biological and chemical weapon detecting equipment which the U.S. developed and supplied to some units of the U.S. forces in South Korea under the pretext of "coping with bio-chemical warfare."
It is planned that 4 "Patriot" missile battalions would be added to the present strength of 2 battalions already deployed in the base of the U.S. forces in South Korea. It put into a concrete shape the operation plan to strike the military bases in the rear of the DPRK with "Tomahawk" missiles and combat power provided by aircraft carriers.
As seen above, the plan is basically aimed at a preemptive strike against the DPRK.

S. Korea plans to deploy ground to air missiles

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The South Korean warmongers reportedly decided to deploy the ground to air missiles "Chonma" for actual war in and around Seoul.
They held a ceremony for the production of missiles of this type and decided to send the first 100 missiles to "ROK" army.
They are now going to produce various kinds of war equipment while purchasing military equipment from foreign countries including the U.S.
Their reckless moves for arms buildup are further aggravating the military tension in the Korean peninsula.

U.S. warned not to act rashly

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The United States has worked out an emergency plan to rapidly hurl huge combat forces and war equipment into the Korean peninsula from the U.S. mainland in case of a "crisis" there. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says: This suggests that the United States is fully ready to ignite a war of aggression against the DPRK and what remains to be done by the U.S. is just to trigger off a war.
    The commentary goes on:
The U.S. loudmouthed "emergency" on the Korean peninsula means a second Korean war to begin with a preemptive attack on the DPRK.
Though the United States is talking about "peace" and "dialogue" with the DPRK, It is no more than a hoax to cover up its true colors as an aggressor.
It is the spirit and courage of the Korean People's Army and people to return a just war for a war of aggression, stronger and merciless strike for a reckless and provocative invasion.
Though the aggressors may attack the DPRK with 600,000 strong forces and thousands of warships and planes, we will not be frightened even a bit.
If the enemy dares to unleash a war of aggression against the DPRK, we will take the opportunity to uproot the cause of war from the Korean peninsula.

Pyongyangites denounce GIs' massacres

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang mass rally was held yesterday to support the just patriotic struggle of the South Korean people against the massacres committed by the U.S. aggression troops.
Addressing the rally, Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang city people's committee, said that the South Korean people are disclosing the GIs' massacres of the people one after another in different parts of South Korea and waging a vigorous campaign for demanding the U.S. aggression forces apologize and compensate for them following the disclosure of the truth of the massacre committed by them in Rogun-ri during the past Korean War.
He extended full support and encouragement to the just patriotic struggle of the South Korean people, saying that voices condemning the U.S. ringing out from various circles of South Korea are an eruption of the towering national rage at the U.S. aggressors who brutally killed Koreans.
Then speeches were made by the representatives of the workers, peasants, youth and students and witnesses of the atrocities committed by the U.S.
The speakers exposed the massacres committed by the U.S. aggressors in the North Korea during the past Korean War and expressed the determination to wreak the grudge of the Korean people who were killed by the U.S. brutes without fail at any cost and take revenge upon them a thousand times.

Fascist gag on progressive press under fire

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Ministry of Education recently incorporated a "plan to strengthen guidance and management of university press" into its "student guidance measures" and instructed university authorities to intensify control and supervision over the editing of university newspapers and gazettes and radio broadcasting.
It is also forcing the university newspapers to delete any article related to the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils, the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and North Korea.
Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says that Inje University, Keimyung University and other universities suspended the publication of their papers and progressive journalists were discharged and fell victim to disciplinary measures and newspaper offices were closed down.
The commentary dismisses this as a premeditated fascist suppressive campaign to block the dissemination of progressive ideas among the South Korean students and arrest their movement for independence, democracy and reunification and dampen the South Koreans' longing for the man-centred socialist system in the north through a gag on the campus press.
    It goes on:
It is not a crime for the South Korean university press to edit and carry articles reflecting the wishes and demands of students.
The fascists of the "people's government" in the grip of an unprecedented ruling crisis are going to indiscriminately gag the progressive press disobedient to their fascist rule.
To this end they cooked up a "press corps" specializing in the gag on the press inside the "Intelligence Service," a fascist and murderous plot-breeding organization.
The repressive campaign against the progressive university newspapers is a prelude to a new offensive against the press by the fascist "press corps."
No fascist repression can ever destroy ideas. No matter what fascist crackdown the rulers may resort to, they can never dampen the longing of the South Korean students and people for man-centred socialism in the north where the great Juche idea has been fully embodied.

Repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners urged

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian National Association for the Study of Kimjongilism, the Madagascar-DPRK Friendship and Solidarity Committee and chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru Genaro Ledesma Izquieta issued statements demanding the repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners in South Korea.
The statements said that the South Korean authorities' opposition to the repatriation of the former POWs is not only a violation of the Korean Armistice Agreement but also an infringement upon man's rights to choose his residence at his will.
They urged the South Korean authorities to take an immediate measure to send the unconverted long-term prisoners standing at the crossroads of life and death back to their hometowns where their kinsmen are waiting for them.
They expressed full support and firm solidarity with all the initiatives and efforts of the DPRK to promote the unity between the north and the south and realize the immediate repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners to the north by solving the criminal and inhumanitarian issue in South Korea.

Brisk land conservation work

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- Land management is brisk in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
In the autumn land management this year big efforts are directed to building up tree sapling production bases, securing selected tree seeds, land rezoning, tree planting, road and river improvement and making hedges so as to clothe the whole country in a green mantle in the shortest period.
According to data available at the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, in the recent 20 odd days alone, at least 193,677,800 trees were planted, roads and rivers whose total length exceeds 20,200 kilometers improved, land of more than 7,800 hectares readjusted and hedges extending some 180 kilometers made.
Nurseries covering 20 to 60 hectares have been built in the main in all cities and counties.
The construction of Pyongyang-Nampho Motorway is progressing apace and the nation's arterial roads have been given a major face-lifting.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent a letter "on further improving and strengthening land management" to the participants in a national meeting of workers in the service of land management in November Juche 73 (1984).
Since then the land management has been further promoted through a nationwide, all-people drive in the DPRK.
In the last 15 years the state completed the general plan concerning nationwide forest planting and seeding from a new angle and built forests of oil trees, timber forests, firewood forests and ornamental forests in mountains, large and small, throughout the country.
Windbreak forests were excellently arranged around Paektusamcholli and Singyemiru plains.
With the building of Kwangmyongsong saltern covering hundreds of hectares and reclamation of Kangryong tideland of more than 5,000 hectares, Ungdo tideland of some 3,000 hectares and other 100 tidelands the area of the country increased.
The west sea barrage-Jungsan waterway project was successfully finished to make a "big man-made river" in the 68 odd kilometre section of Onchon and Jungsan counties and the 40 odd kilometre long waterway project in Kangryong, South Hwanghae Province, and the west sea barrage-Thaethan and Ongjin waterway project were carried out to water more than 10,000 hectares of paddy and non-paddy fields.
Dams were built at Taedong, Chongchon, Taeryong, Ryesong and other rivers and streams, large and small rivers and streams readjusted for their all-around use.
Pyongyang-Kaesong (more than 160 kilometers) motorway, Pyongyang-Hyangsan tourist road (some 120 kilometers) and many other roads and Yanggak and Chongryu bridges and many other edifices of eternal value gave a major face-lifting to the appearance of the country.

Heroes of our era absolutely worship leader

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- Absolute worship for the leader is the most important of the ideological traits of the heroes and heroines of our era.
Rodong Sinmun says this in an article today.
    The paper goes on:
Their worship for the leader is a pure mind with which they firmly trust and follow General Secretary Kim Jong Il under any difficult situations and a firm ideological readiness to devote their all to the revolutionary cause led by him.
Their worship finds its expression first of all in that they are always yearning for Kim Jong Il only, believing in and following him.
The leader is the mental support of the revolutionaries to believe in and rely on.
Always yearning for Kim Jong Il the heroes of our era think and act true to his intention. This is their spiritual world.
Their worship for the leader also finds its manifestation in that they work and live as Kim Jong Il intends and wants.
They put all his determinations into practice. this is their unshakable spirit.
They also devote themselves to implementing the revolutionary tasks assigned by Kim Jong Il.
This is another expression of their worship for the leader.
They devote all their energies and life to their work conscientiously no matter whether they are recognized or not. this is their noble spiritual and moral traits.

U.S. warned not to forget bitter lesson from defeat

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article assails the U.S., Japanese and South Korean warmongers for bringing the situation on the Korean peninsula to an extreme pitch of tension by staging large-scale joint military exercises in South Korea and around the Korean peninsula without a let-up.
Noting that these war exercises bear a close resemblance to an all-out war, the article says: It is not a hypothesis that a new war will be ignited on the Korean peninsula by the United States.
Elaborating on the U.S. history of aggression including the Korean war and its moves to ignite a new war in the post-war period, the article continues: The U.S. is forgetting the bitter lesson from its defeat in the past, seized with war hysteria.
If the U.S. ignites a new war against the DPRK, it will meet a more disastrous defeat than what it sustained in the 1950s.
The DPRK has strong defenses, which our people have built up for decades tightening their belts and invincible might of single-hearted unity. If the U.S. dares to test our strength and will, oblivious of its past lesson, we will have no option but to take a countermeasure against it.

KCNA on hoax made by senior Japanese politician

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the policy research council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, at a recent talk fest with media persons reportedly called for "thoroughly reacting to the missile threat from North Korea."
The Japanese reactionaries' loudmouthed "missile threat from North Korea" is a sheer fabrication.
The chairman betrayed Japan's real intention when he underscored the need to speed up the Japan-U.S. joint research into the "Theatre Missile Defense" system (TMD).
The "missile threat from North Korea" is a mere pretext to round off the U.S.-Japan "Theatre Missile Defense" system and is no more than a hoax to do harm to the DPRK.
His reckless remarks clearly indicate that though the Japanese authorities are talking about the "improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations" and the "resumption of talks", it is nothing but a lip-service and they are, in fact, whetting their sword for reinvasion.
The DPRK is the main target of the "TMD".
If the Japanese reactionaries launch a reinvasion despite the DPRK's warnings, they will not escape from their self-destruction.
