Solidarity letter to "Jongukryonhap"

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Council for National Reconciliation sent a letter to the National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification (Jongukryonhap) in South Korea yesterday, expressing solidarity with the latter which is waging a resolute struggle for the complete repeal of the "security law" with many other social movement organizations.
The struggle for the repeal of the " security law " launched by "Jongukryonhap" is the most just and righteous one to liquidate the leftover of the fascist dictatorship that has lasted more than half a century and pave a new way for the democratic development of the South Korean society and national reunification, the letter noted, and went on:
The South Korean authorities' "revision of the ' security law '" is an unpardonable criminal act to block the vigorous struggle for the repeal of the evil law being waged by various circles in South Korea and hoodwink and mock at the people.
The letter expressed the belief that "Jongukryonhap" would continue to spearhead the indomitable struggle for the repeal of the law in the future, too.

Japan urged to fulfil its responsibility

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Japan should honestly implement her responsibility and obligation if she sincerely wishes to see improved DPRK-Japan relations, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary.
The commentary notes that the anti-DPRK diatribe launched by dishonest forces of Japan after raising again the issue of "suspected abduction of Japanese" is intended to throw a wet blanket on the efforts to improve the DPRK-Japan relations.
Recalling that whenever there was a sign of improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations, the dishonest forces picked up this issue to make the situation complicated, the commentary says:
If the DPRK-Japan relations are to be improved, Japan should honestly apologize and compensate for the unspeakable misfortunes and disasters inflicted by her upon the Korean people and abandon her hostile policy towards the DPRK.
There can be no improved relations between the DPRK and Japan without it.
Japan is putting the brake on the work to improve the DPRK-Japan relations, although she expressed her willingness to do so. Judging from this, we cannot but doubt whether Japan stands for the improved relations or has an axe to grind while talking about the DPRK-Japan relations.
The responsibility for the failure to improve the relations between the DPRK and Japan entirely rests with the Japanese authorities.
