International solidarity movement for Korean reunification
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- This year witnessed a vigorous international solidarity movement for the Korean people's cause of national reunification.
Personages of governments, political parties and organizations of at least 170 countries including Cuba, Sweden, Guinea, Bulgaria, Laos and Nigeria and international and regional organizations in their solidarity messages and letters to the great leader Kim Jong Il expressed full support and solidarity with the Korean people's cause to achieve the country's reunification as early as possible.
Brisk solidarity activities that took place in various parts of the world to support the struggle of the Korean people included seminars, reading sessions and lectures held in over 100 countries and regions to study and disseminate the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and the leader Kim Jong Il on the reunification of the country.
At least 200 political parties, organizations in over 100 countries including the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Party of the Congress for the Independence of Madagascar, the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, and the International Liaison Committee for the Reunification and Peace in Korea and the Organization of Afro-Asian Latin American Peoples Solidarity and other regional and international organizations and many personages from all walks of life issued statements, appeals and resolutions voicing support for the struggle of the DPRK government and people for national reunification.

Mass media in at least 60 countries widely introduced the DPRK's proposal for reunification and the Korean people's struggle to materialize it.
Defending and exalting Korean-style socialism
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Man-centred socialism of Korean style should be resolutely defended and exalted, stresses Rodong Sinmun today in an editorial dedicated to the day of the socialist constitution (December 27).
It says:
The socialist constitution of the DPRK is a Juche-oriented political charter which legally stipulates the great victories and successes achieved by the Korean people in the revolution and construction and defines principles to govern state and social activities and important tasks in carrying out the cause of socialism and communism.
The constitution was modified and supplemented according to the changed circumstances and the need of the reality at the 1st session of the 10th Supreme People's Assembly held last year and it was declared as Kim Il Sung constitution there.
The constitution reflects the fixed faith, will and noble moral obligation of the Korean people to venerate the great leader Kim Il Sung as the eternal President of the DPRK for all ages and carry the revolutionary cause of Juche to completion based on his idea and exploits.
Korean-style socialism has more strikingly demonstrated firmness and invincibility over the last five years, a period of ordeals unprecedented in the history of the revolutionary struggle.
It is entirely thanks to the outstanding and seasoned leadership of the great Kim Jong Il that our socialism is demonstrating its invincible might.
Socialism of our own style will as ever remain indestructible as the respected Marshal Kim Jong Il provides the army-first revolutionary leadership whose invincibility has been proved in practice.
We should steadfastly defend and exalt the President's Juche-oriented idea on state building and exploits performed by him in it.
It is a most important matter in defending and exalting our style socialism to uphold Kim Jong Il's idea and leadership single-heartedly with loyalty and filial piety.
The editorial underscores the need to give spurs to the second grand Chollima march in firm faith in socialism and strengthen the socialist law-abiding life.
KCNA on ill-intentioned rumour
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Some of the U.S. media recently said that the DPRK's increasing national defense capabilities are likely to delay Korea's reunification.
The ill-intentioned rumour indicates that the U.S. design to isolate and stifle the DPRK, undermine and destroy the system and thus achieve unification still remains unchanged.
The reunification of Korea is the cherished desire of the Korean people. It is top priority of the nation which brooks no further delay.
The Korean peninsula has not yet been reunified because of the U.S. troops' presence in South Korea and the separatist policy by the South Korean authorities who ask for permanent presence of the U.S. forces in South Korea.
The U.S. military presence in South Korea is the main obstacle to national reunification and a root cause of division.
The U.S. media, keeping mum about the U.S. military presence in South Korea, asserted that the increased national defense capabilities of the DPRK are likely to delay the reunification of Korea. The allegation reminds the people of a thief crying "stop thief." The potentials of the invincible and solid anthropocentric socialist system of Korean style under which the monolithic unity of the party and the popular masses has been achieved and all the people form a large harmonious family represent a basic guarantee for the promotion of national reunification.
The basic way of national reunification is to put into practice a proposal for founding the Democratic Confederal Republic of Koryo.
The proposal is quite realistic, reasonable and just one with which to solve the issue of Korea's reunification most easily and most quickly.
If the U.S. truly wants peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, it should not stop spreading ill-intentioned rumour harmful to the reunification of Korea, but pull its troops out of South Korea and respond to the DPRK's proposal for reunification by confederacy formula at an early date.
Utterances meant to justify bio-chemical war preparations
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Recently high-ranking military officials of the U.S. reiterated "anti-bacillus anthracis vaccine" on an unreasonable pretext of "possible use of bacillus anthracis by the DPRK."
They highlighted the needs to inoculate the U.S. forces and South Korean Army with the vaccine. The U.S. department of defense made public that the U.S. is discussing the supply of vaccine to South Korea.
All this is designed to justify bio-chemical war preparations against the DPRK. The foolish act causes apprehensions among the people.
The U.S. loudmouthed "possible use of bacillus anthracis by the DPRK" is a fabrication and a base rigmarole designed to do harm to the DPRK and tarnish the image of the peace-loving people. It is also a trick to cover the true colors as the source of development and proliferation of bio-chemical weapons.
It is the U.S. that produced a large number of bio-chemical weapons, deployed them in different parts of the world and used them on a large scale.
The U.S.-supplied radioactive and depleted uranium bombs and mass destruction weapons of poisonous virus were used in the air raids on Yugoslavia by the U.S.-led NATO forces, which shocked the world this year.
This indicates, in the final analysis, that the U.S. is likely to provoke a war against the DPRK and to use the above-mentioned bio-chemical weapons there on a large scale.
The U.S. is the chief culprit of the use of bio-chemical weapons. That is fully evidenced by the recently-disclosed spraying of defoliant, a poisonous substance of mass destruction, in the Demilitarized Zone along the Military Demarcation Line.
The spraying of defoliant that posed threat to existence of living things and claimed so many human lives is the continuation of the atrocious bacteriological war waged by the U.S. in the Korean War of the 50s. So, it invites the unanimous denunciation from the international community.
The U.S., guilty of a long list of evil deeds, is taking issue with the DPRK over the "possible use of bacillus anthracis." That is the height of impudence.
The U.S. that threatens humankind with bio-chemical weapons as well as nuclear arms is doomed to face a stern judgement by history.
Japan urged to liquidate its past wrongdoings
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Japan must frankly admit its past crimes and make a sincere apology and compensation in keeping with the international trend of settling all the issues left by the present century, says Minju Joson today in a signed commentary.
Recalling that some time ago the German government decided to pay ten billion marks in compensation to the slave labour victims during the Nazi dictatorship, the paper terms this as a positive movement as it is intended to fully liquidate Germany's inglorious past in the present century and greet the 21st century by turning over a new leaf.
It goes on: It is Japan that is insisting on the viewpoint and attitude contrary to this. Japan is beautifying its past crimes and trying to flee from its responsibility for them, far from admitting the heinous crimes committed against many countries in Asia in the past, the Korean people in particular. As a result, only Japan has not yet shaken off the ill fame of the "enemy state" and the world views it as a "political dwarf" and a "morally backward child".
If Japan truly wants to improve its image as a member of the international community and enjoy trust, it must show an honest attitude in liquidating the crime-woven past before anything else.
