KCNA on U.S. "annual human rights report"

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- As already reported, the U.S. State Department in a recent "annual report" on the world human rights slandered the DPRK again. The "annual report" does not deserve even a passing note as it is full of absurd view on value and logic reversing black and white. Because the United States is not qualified to say anything about the human rights situation in the world.
Out of every 100,000 people in the U.S. eight persons are murdered, at least 300 injured, more than 70 women raped, at least 200 people plundered and over 5,000 people are robbed of their properties every year.
No wonder, criminals call the U.S. a "heaven" for murderers, rapists, plunderers and thieves.
Worse still, over 10 million jobless people and at least 6.1 million children are wandering about the streets. At least 46 million people are below the poverty line and one fourth of the children are suffering from malnutrition.
And more than 47 million people are suffering from diseases without getting any simple health care.
This poorest human rights record in the U.S. is attributable to its social system's degeneration of human ethics.
Prevalent in the U.S. are only the view on life and inhuman politicial view based on the jungle law that "a man must be a wolf towards the other man."
It is nothing but a political caricature for the U.S. to talk about political freedom and rights, though it is not in a position to guarantee the right to existence to the people.
The U.S. is ill-famed for the poorest human rights record and the most serious violation of human rights in the world.
However, the U.S. styles itself a "judge of human rights."
The U.S. is well advised to be in the dock as the arch violator of human rights before vociferating about "human rights issues" in other countries.

S. Korean authorities hit for blocking Pyongyang visit of Kim family

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland yesterday published information bulletin no. 803 denouncing the South Korean authorities for blocking the visit to Pyongyang of the family of the late Kim Ryang Mu, permanent vice-chairman of the south headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon). The South Korean "Ministry of Unification" turned down the application filed by the widow and two daughters of Kim Ryang Mu, who died in January, for their visit to Pyongyang to deliver his hair and mementoes under an unreasonable pretext that "There is a high possibility of somebody's use of them for a political propaganda."
This clearly indicates that having committed inhuman acts which led to Kim Ryang Mu's death, the South Korean authorities are going to politically persecute and suppress his family even after his death, the information bulletin said, and continued:
By blocking the Pyongyang visit of his family the South Korean authorities once again disclosed their unjust position on the pro-reunification patriotic movement in South Korea.
The South Korean authorities should halt the unjust crackdown on the south headquarters of pomminryon, the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils and other pro-reunification patriotic organizations and pro-reunification figures and legalize all their activities. And they should allow at an early date the Pyongyang visit of the late Kim Ryang Mu's family aimed to fulfil his will.

International Women's Day observed

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 90th International Women's Day. Rodong Sinmun, Minju Joson and other newspapers of the DPRK dedicate editorials to the day. The Korean women are filled with unbounded reverence for the respected leader President Kim Il Sung who devoted his whole life to the liberation of women and firm determination to uphold the leader Kim Jong Il with singlehearted loyalty and filial piety, the papers say.
The brilliant history of the Korean women's movement, they note, is the history of the wise guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea and the two leaders and their great love.
    Rodong Sinmun says:
The Korean women's movement the president pioneered and led to glory under the banner of Juche has obtained a new height of its development under the outstanding and seasoned guidance of Kim Jong Il.
Kim Jong Il, always believing in the women in the revolution and construction, showed all parental love for them in an effort to strengthen and develop their movement.
Noble and beautiful, indeed, are the ideological and moral traits of the Korean women who have grown up under the loving care of the great leader and the great party. It is the true picture of the Korean women who devotedly work to repay the kindness of the party and the leader that put forward the women as the flower of the revolution, the nation and life and lead them to a worthy struggle with loving care.
Today the Korean women are confronted with an honorable task to make a decisive progress in the building of a powerful nation under the leadership of the great party and bring a turn in the development of the women's movement to meet the requirements of the new era.
All the women should cherish the boundless reverence and absolute worship and trust in Kim Jong Il and uphold his ideology and guidance with loyalty.

Syria's revolution day marked

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Papers here today dedicate articles to the 37th day of revolution in Syria. Rodong Sinmun in a signed article says after the victory of the revolution a fundamental change took place in the living of the Syrian people.
    It goes on:
The Syrian people under the correct guidance of President Hafez Al Assad work hard for the nation's independent development, territorial integrity and mideast peace. Syria adheres to the "Land-for-Peace Principle."
It fights for independence against imperialism.
It sets itself against imperialist aggression and moves for domination expansion in the mideast region and Israel's anti-Arab territorial expansion. It has consistently fought for retaking the Golan heights.
The Korean people express full support for the just cause of the Syrian people as they did.
Minju Joson says the Korean people sincerely wish the Syrian people greater success in their future work for the nation's prosperity and development.

KCNA on S. Korean authorities' undisguised flunkeyist deed

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The flunkeyist deed of the South Korean authorities is getting all the more undisguised these days. The newly-appointed South Korean ambassador to Japan, in a recent interview with a Japanese paper, asked for an early realization of the Japanese king's South Korea visit and the "bill on prefectural suffrage."
This shows part of deep-rooted flunkeyism of the South Korean ruling quarters from the present chief executive to an ambassador, which is arousing indignation of the nation.
As for the "Japanese Emperor," he is a target of the Korean people's wrath and curses for misfortunes and pain inflicted upon them through centuries and a symbol of the criminal militarist Japan.
The South Korean rulers said that the Japanese king's South Korea visit would "improve" the South Korea-Japan relations. The fact proves that they are thrice-cursed flunkeyist traitors ignorant of the nation's past woven with misfortunes.
Their begging for the "bill on prefectural suffrage", which has been rejected from long ago, can never be overlooked.
It is the moves to make Koreans in Japan break with the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and split and disunite the compatriots' community.
This is a crime of hailing the Japanese reactionaries' national assimilation and split policy.
The South Korean authorities will face a stern punishment of the nation for their flunkeyist deeds.

Dominican party leader on DPRK's army-first politics

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Ivan Rodriguez, chairman of the central committee of the Dominican Workers' Party, who visited Korea to celebrate the birthday of the leader Kim Jong Il, had an interview before his departure. In the interview he, referring to the army-first politics and benevolent politics of the DPRK, said that his visit was the most impressive one through which he realized that the DPRK's might and miracles are based on Kim Jong Il's unique revolutionary line and policy of giving priority to the army.
    He continued:
Kim Jong Il, a great politician of the present times, set forth the army-first revolutionary line on the basis of deep insight into the prevailing situation which requires the DPRK to defend the destiny of the people and socialism, singlehandedly fighting imperialism, and has successfully applied it into the realities of Korea. He puts forward the army as the main pillar and driving force of the revolution not only in defending the fatherland but also in accomplishing the cause of socialism. Under his army-first politics Korean socialism has always emerged victorious and the DPRK has demonstrated its might to the full.
The imperialists are very afraid of the invincible might of the Korean people's army. the realities of the DPRK clearly prove that the army-first politics is the all-powerful sword for defending socialism and a powerful weapon for realizing the human cause of independence.
What impressed him during the stay is also the benevolent politics that can be found only in the DPRK, he said, adding:
The history of this politics shaped by President Kim Il Sung is now being continued successfully by Kim Jong Il, the great successor to his cause.

Philosophical principle of Juche

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The Juche philosophy is a new revolutionary doctrine centred on man. It was founded by President Kim Il Sung.
It is based on the philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything.
The position and role of man in the world are expounded from a new angle on this principle.
That man is the master of everything means that he dominates the world. Man lives dominating nature and society, not subjected to his surrounding world. There are many areas and objects in the world that man does not dominate. Man, however, is steadily expanding his sphere of domination as his cognition faculty and practical capacity are increased.
That man decides everything means that he plays a decisive role in transforming nature and society and shaping his destiny.
Man plays a leading role in transforming the world contrary to the spontaneous interaction of the material world in general. Great are influence and action of objective factors such as the prevailing circumstances and material and technological means in transforming and developing the world. but it is man who matures objective conditions, makes material and technological means and uses them. As a result, their use and might depends on man. This proves that man plays a decisive role in transforming the world.
The philosophical principle of Juche clarifies that man is responsible for his destiny. No force on earth can be responsible for the destiny of man except for him. Man can shape his destiny by himself. Man is hewing out his destiny while conquering nature with his creative labour and transforming society through continued revolutionary struggle.
With the clarification of the philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and that he decides everything, his position and role in the world are most correctly expounded and a right way is indicated for shaping his destiny.

Another anti-north charade in S. Korea under fire

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Recently the anti-communist right-wing conservative forces of South Korea, including those of the "Grand National Party," have clamoured about the "north's tunnel" case. Rodong Sinmun today in signed commentary terms this as a sheer lie that does not deserve even a passing note and a trick to turn the upcoming "elections" in their favour. Recalling that no sooner had a "row about a tunnel" been kicked up than the "joint chiefs of staff" together with a special organ examined the scene and officially announced that it was verified to be a natural tunnel, the commentary says, and goes on:
However, ultra-right reactionaries are vociferating about an "investigation into the truth" behind such a false case in a bid to escape from a miserable defeat they are expected to suffer in the "national assembly election" due to the "anti-nomination, anti-candidate campaign".
It is a trite method of the right-wing reactionary forces to divert elsewhere the people's attention by fabricating a "shocking case" and attain their sinister political aim.
The successive South Korean authorities have employed such method. The clan of the "Grand National Party" faked up a "tunnel" case" as their predecessors did in a bid to deflect the people's hatred from them and escalate the anti-north confrontation moves and thus turn the forthcoming "election" in their favour.
But such a foolish burlesque cannot go down with anyone.

International Women's Day commemorated in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean women are significantly commemorating the 90th International Women's Day. A national meeting to commemorate the anniversary took place at the People's Palace of Culture. Its participants and all the women paid profound tribute to President Kim Il Sung, retrospecting his immortal exploits with deep emotion. He paid deep attention to the solution to the women's problem since he set out on the road of revolution in his early years. After the liberation of the country he promulgated the Law on Sex Equality on July 30, 1946, his own work, to emancipate the women from the evil feudal practice of treating women as inferior to men and let them participate in public life with equal rights with men.
The meeting was followed by a performance given by artistes who staged colorful pieces reflecting the happy life of the Korean women.
Women in the capital city of Pyongyang and those in provinces, cities and counties commemorate the day with multifarious functions.
In Pyongyang colorful sports and amusement games took place with attendance of 5,000 women at the table tennis gymnasium in Chongchun Street under the sponsorship of the central committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union.
The amusement games started with a parade of a women's brass band and mass rhythmic exercise performed by more than 500 women.
National folk games such as swinging, seesawing, yacht game and national defence sports games such as hurdle race and many other colourful events, including a women's group running with their ankles tied, carrying big potatoes, throwing a ball into a basket, etc. reflected the happy life of the women.
Wives of foreign diplomatic envoys and officials here joined Korean women in various events, including running inside rings and pasting pictures, etc. thus deepening the friendship.
The game ended with Taekwon-do exercise for health performed by 500 women. Working women in the fields of education, culture, public health, commerce, textile, daily necessities and food processing have greeted the day with signal achievements.
