Anti-U.S. struggle called for
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The spokeswoman for the central committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union issued a statement yesterday denouncing the U.S. aggression troops for their recent brutal murder of South Korean women.
The unceasing murder of South Korean women reveals once again the nature of the U.S. as man-hunters, the statement said, and went on:
Their aggression troops have raped and killed South Korean women almost every day for over half a century since they occupied South Korea.
The reality shows that as long as they remain in South Korea, it is impossible to protect the dignity and sovereignty of the nation nor is it possible to preserve the chastity and principle of women.
The South Korean women and other people should turn out as one in the anti-U.S. do-or-die resistance to severely punish the U.S. aggression troops, the root cause of all their misfortune and sufferings, and surely make them pay for the blood shed by the fellow countrymen.
All the women in the North Korea will extend full support to the South Korean women and other people in their struggle to retake the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and join hands with the world progressive women in the vigorous sacred struggle to put an end to U.S. atrocities on earth.
Japanese reactionaries urged to stop rash acts
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the central committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea in a statement issued yesterday denounced Tokyo metropolitan governor Shintaro Ishihara for letting loose a provocative and bellicose blast that "Japan will destroy North Korea at a blow."
The spokesman said that the Japanese reactionaries have feverishly incited hostility toward the DPRK in Japanese societies raising a hue and Korea over a North Korean "missile threat" from the DPRK and rounded off the war system in a bid to mount a "preemptive attack" at it and reconquer the whole of Korea.
He bitterly denounced Ishihara's anti-DPRK war outcry that came against that backdrop, stating that this reflected the Japanese reactionary rulers' militarist attitude and ambition for invasion.
The agricultural workers and other people of Korea will never remain a passive onlooker to these frantic and reckless anti-DPRK moves escalated by the Japanese ultra-right reactionaries but mercilessly retaliate against any hostile attempt to encroach upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, he declared.
He warned the Japanese reactionaries not to act rashly.
Anti-American demonstration in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life in South Korea staged a fierce demonstration in front of the "Ministry of National Defence" in Seoul on March 18 following March 17 against the South Korean visit of the U.S. Defence Secretary, a Seoul-based radio reported.
That morning when the talks between the U.S. Defence Secretary and the South Korean "Minister of National Defence" were to take place members of public and labour organizations including the "Korean Confederation of Trade Unions" and students gathered in front of the building of the "Ministry of National Defence", the venue of the talks, blocking the way to the building and its front-gate.
The demonstrators chanted "Yankee go home," throwing eggs to the gate and lodging a strong protest against the daily increasing cases of GIs' crimes in South Korea.
They demanded the U.S. government make an apology and sternly punish gi criminals according to a law.
The stubborn demonstration compelled the U.S. Defence Secretary to enter the building of the "Ministry of National Defence" from its eastern gate instead of using its front-gate.
Landmark proposal for repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The Korean Measure Committee for the Rescue of Unconverted Long-Term Prisoners in South Korea in a letter to the organizations in South Korea and abroad related to early repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners proposed that those organizations in the north, south and overseas will hold a joint meeting in a third country within April to discuss a joint action for their repatriation.
Minju Joson today in a signed commentary describes this proposal as a landmark overture to realize the repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners by August 15, the 55th anniversary of the country's liberation, through the three-party solidarity action of compatriots in the north, south and abroad.
Noting that Koreans at home and abroad are working hard for their repatriation, considering it as an urgent task common to the nation, the commentary says that the proposal reflects this will of the nation.
The reality requires a more dynamic nationwide struggle for the repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners and there are ample conditions for this.
The committee' proposal is a realistic one reflecting the nation's desire and full feasibility.
The people in the North Korea will conduct brisk three-party joint action for their repatriation.
The committee believes that the organizations in South Korea and overseas related to the early repatriation of unconverted long-term prisoners will positively support the proposal and work hard for its realization.
The South Korean authorities should not block the three-party solidarity movement of Koreans in the north, south and abroad for their repatriation.
S. Korean people's anti-U.S. struggle supported
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- At least 250 members of the headquarters of the combat-gi-crimes movement held a protest rally in Seoul on March 17 against the South Korean visit of the U.S. Defence Secretary.
Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says this indicates a ground swell of the South Korean people's strong desire for independence against the U.S. and that is why the whole nation is extending full support and solidarity to their struggle.
It is the only way out for the South Korean people to struggle for independence against the U.S. and this is a bitter lesson taught by the history of the U.S. aggressor forces' presence in South Korea, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The U.S. forces in South Korea are not a "liberator", "helper" or "protector" but aggressors, plunderers and murderers from A to Z.
The realities clearly prove that the South Korean people can never escape from bloodshed and death as long as the U.S. aggressor forces, a group of brutes, stay in South Korea.
The South Korean people should turn out in a vigorous struggle for independence against the U.S. to put an end to the aggressors' massacre of their parents and wives and children and other fellow countrymen.
GI killings under fire
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- Another South Korean woman was killed in cold blood by a GI in Kosan-dong, Uijongbu city, Kyonggi Province of South Korea.
Rodong Sinmun today, commenting on the killing, describes the U.S. as the very one that wantonly violates the sovereignty and human rights of peoples of other countries and a wrecker of peace and democracy as well as the graveyard of human rights where elementary human rights are ruthlessly abused.
The news analyst says:
The recent killing came against the background of a streak revelation of gi mass killings of peaceable inhabitants during the last Korean war following the disclosure of gi mass killing of civilians in Rogun-ri in September last year. It is unprecedented in terms of its method and cruelty.
Some time ago, the U.S. in the "annual report on human rights situation in the world" took issue with the DPRK over what it called "human rights problem" in a bid to cover up the true colors of the U.S. as the worst graveyard of human rights in the world and a most serious human rights violator and isolate and stifle the DPRK. Its anti-DPRK diatribe is a height of baseness and shamefulness.
The realities of South Korea prove that with the U.S. aggression troops staying in South Korea the sovereignty and dignity of the nation, human rights, peace and democracy are unthinkable.
Before talking about "defense of human rights" shamelessly, the U.S. should repent of its vicious human rights abuses in South Korea and other parts of the world and make an apology for them.
